[PokeCommunity.com] Round 3, Match 4: Digimon vs. Neon Genesis Evangelion

Ok so there were too many opinions on which season to put up so we went and figured since Love Hina doesn't really stand much of a chance anyways, we'll put them all up XD

Genres: Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Science Fiction, Shounen

    01:
Plot Summary: Seven kids are transported to the Digital World, a strange place where digital creatures called "Digimon" reside. 02:
Plot Summary: A few years after the adventures of the Digidestined in the Digital World, a new batch of Chosen Children are summoned to save the Digital World. An evil ruler known as the Digimon Kaizer, or Digimon Emperor, is forcing the Digital World's Digimon into enslavement. The new group of Digidestined Children, with the help of their Digimon, then begin a journey to stop the evil Digimon Emperor.
    Tamers:
Plot Summary: Takato Matsuda, Henry Wong, and Rika Nonaka are children who have, by fate, recieved real Digimon; unlike the imaginary ones in the card game they play. Each of the children, or "Digimon Tamers", have their different views on how Digimon should be treated. But when other Digimon begin to appear around Japan, they must put aside their differences to fend off the digital intruders; even though Yamaki, who is the head of a secret organization called Hypnos is trying to eliminate all of the Digimon himself.
    Frontier:
5 children receive strange messages on their cell phones that lead them to a train that takes them to the "Digital World"; a strange world filled with bizzare creatures called "Digimon". These children have been sent there to stop an evil Digimon named Cherubimon from completely annihilating the planet of all its inhabitants. In order to accomplish this, the 5 children must locate their "spirits", which will evolve them into the Legendary Warrior Digimon. Unfortunately for them Cherubimon has ordered his servants to stop the kids from finishing the mission; eventually the children will have to fight Cherubimon's forces in order to save the planet.

I have to admit, this required a bit of thought... but if not for Tamers, Eva > Digimon.

Eva still gets my vote though~

Even though I'm still waiting for Eva to become convoluted beyond all reason since I'm getting it week by week on [as], Digimon doesn't have Asuka Langley Soryu (<3), and as we all know, Asuka (<3) is love.

So my cheap, throwaway, anime novice reasoning earns a show a vote it probably shouldn't have yet again~

Oh, did I mention that Asuka (<3) is love?

    ...and Rei......kind of.

Neon Genesis Evangelion...Complex story, big robots that go nuts, Asuka (Am also a lover), screwed up main characters, and a director who is nuts = one of the best animes of all time. NGE to the end baby.

NGE for me...no real reason, I just happened to like it better at the moment.

    Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Doesn't seem like a real contest.

Digimon Tamers actually took some of its stuff from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Where would Tamers be without Eva, hmm?

Of course, Asuka Langley Soryu, Rei Ayanami, and Misato Katsuragi are all love. Especially Asuka. <3<3<3<3<3 None of the leading ladies in Digimon come even remotely close.

    What's wrong with you people?

    Rei > Asuka. >O

Don't get me wrong, I find emotional distance attractive, but not total emotional exclusion. Rei would far exceed Askua (<3) if not for that.

Dontcha hate it when you dont like either anime they put up? >< BUUUUUT, I do like Eva better. The main art of the whole show could get better, bit the plot is awsome! ^0^

    Eva>Digimon

NGE owns Digimon. ;3 I just recently got into watching the anime because my boyfriend kept telling me it was supposed to be really good...but confusing as heck. XD So yes, my vote goes for Neon Genesis Evangelion. :33

I'm quite the opposite; I'm attracted to emotional instabilities, i.e. Stellar from SEED Destiny.

    +pokes Kelsey+ You're back together again? o_o

Rei seems a bit too passive to be what I would consider truly unstable. I'd classify her more under the deeply troubled category...though, (and I've only seen ten episodes), if Rei takes a larger role as the series progresses, I'm sure she'll grow on me sufficiently to surpass Asuka in my heart. She just appeared too infrequently and with not enough of any emotion whatsoever to interest me early on.

Eh, I've already had a few things regarding Rei spoiled for me; but beyond that, nobody becomes like her without some severe emotional trauma. I can certainly imagine what I don't already know.

    Eva > Digimon for sure.....

And Rei isn't Traumatized, she's just always been like that since.....
    *Brick'd*

but she isn't traumatized, that's just her personality.....

Well....I really do like Evangelion (Reiiii-chan!) ...but I think I like Digimon... I dunno why, I just DO....and the Eva manga is much better then the anime... the anime bothered me when I watched it...>>; So I go with Digimon.

    Eheh, Digimon for me. Eva's great and all, but considering how much joy Digimon used to bring me when I watched it as opposed to Eva when I watched (some of) it...Digimon takes the win there. ^_^;
