Not Trying to win an award for Modesty here but I always say proudly that I am one of the few souls who can really appreciate good music, no matter whatever genre it belongs too - Rap -> Rock -> Hip-Hop -> Pop & R&B. In this light, my musical interest has really quadrapled this year, from a person who used to listen only to Eminem & Linkin Park in 2003. :p Anyways, I have listened to a huge number of albums , released in 2005, on TV, on Radio, on the Internet, On Cassette and more. So, I have rightly picked up the best songs and albums released this year, and here they are with my personal comments. Please note that these are my personal compilations and ratings, and check-ups with other Top Songs Sites, in NO PARTICULAR ORDER. If you havent heard any of these songs, I definitely ask you to, cause they are the best!
2005 has not been a field year for Rock with more of Fast Pop & Hip-Hop dominating this year. 2005 has also produced some terrific songs no doubt, they were all good but very few of them have been revolutionary, and have broken all time charts compared to 2003 & 2004, though there were more hits. So, lets get straight up into the Top Songs of 2005, here YOU GO!
* Backstreet Boys - Incomplete
Album :: NevergoneCC Recommends
Genre :: Pop
Backstreet Boys who were at a low for the past 2 years returned with a brilliant Album - Nevergone with the main song rocking the charts for months. A Great Song, focussing on how the Boys were separated and how they wanted to join again. Amazing Lyrics, Not the usual Backstreet Boys Style and definitely MY FAVORITE SONG of the Year. Youll be incomplete if you havent heard this song.
* t.A.t.U - All About UsCC Recommends
Album :: Dangerous and Moving
Genre :: Pop
Another great song of the year, one of the best without doubt. Tatu returns with a brilliant album, amazing songs with All About Us going on to top the charts for quite some time. The Voices are really fresh, the videos are fast and so are the songs. Brilliant Song, for sure.
* Flipsyde - Someday
Album :: We The People
Genre :: Pop/Hip-Hop
Blazing Guitars, fresh voices and cool lyrics means absolutely Flipsyde. This Band with their new combination of Hip-Hop & Pop have rocked the world with this song which asks everyone to be optimistic. Also chosen as the theme of the Winter Olympics - Need I say more?
* Black Eyed Peas - Dont Lie
Album :: Monkey Business
Genre :: Hip-Hop
The Black Eyed Peas have certainly ruled this year, their unique name plus brilliant songs in a nice combo of Hip-Hop, Rap and Pop have won accolades from music fans all over and Dont Lie is a brilliant song, where the notes are great, the sudden rises rock. The Female Singer looks good and her voice is awesome.
* Bon Jovi - Have a Nice Day
Album :: Have a Nice Day
Genre :: Pop
Whoever said Bon Jovis days are over, definitely didnt count on this. The great band with their world popular lead singer JBJ returned this year this new album, which again is really a happy one and the first song went on to create records. The songs video is great too and Bon Jovis ruling the roost continues with this Big Hit.
* Eminem - When Im Gone
Album :: Curtain Call: The Hits
Genre :: Rap, Hip-Hop
Eminem has not gone anywhere for sure and this song topping the charts if proof enough. The album contains 10 hits and 3 new songs. However, When Im Gones Video is boring and not worth a watch, more than twice. A Must-Must for any Rap/Hip-Hop fan, as the king is always at the top.
* Crazy Frog - Axel F
Album :: Crazy Hits
Genre :: Music
I must be crazy to do this but who can forget that little squeaking frog which makes you rock all the love. Really fast, furious and crazy/wild music which people of all ages will enjoy. Give it a try. LOL!
* Coldplay - Speed of Sound
Album :: X&Y
Genre :: Pop
Coldplays critics are dumbstruck at this song, Topping the charts for 3 months at the first half of the year. What a music, What a Video, What Lyrics, a Heavenly Song from Coldplay, which is quite soothing too and you can listen to this whenever you want.
* Shakira - La Tortura
Album :: La TorturaCC Recommends
Genre :: Latin
The sexy queen of latin pop has given us two albums this year with both containing 1 extraordinary song each. La Tortura, though you may not understand is excellent, gives you a romantic and sexy feeling. The Video is PG-13! So, Beware. This song definitely held me spell-bound.
