You know, it annoys me if people ridicule families who have different ideas like homeschooling. There is nothing wrong with it, yet like with this we cannot agree to it.

It has gotten out of hand. I mean judges now days think they can do whatever they want because they are a judge. Some times I think they need to be taken out of the court room smacked around and thrown on the street because of their actions. They think beacuse they sit on that judge seat they are above everyone.

I feel sorry for that family, not only because it was around Christmas. But I'm homeschooled myself. And if that happened to me that judge wouldn't like what I'd have to say to him about the matter. I'd have to be taken out of the court room for him to shut me up.
All that family is doing is trying to keep their kid(s) out of public school for one reason or the other. It could be because they don't want their kids to learn about evolution because they don't think it's right, or it could be due to crime and stuff in schools, or it could be because they just want to teach the kid(s) and spend more time with them. Whatever the reason be, they have a right. The US isn't a dictatorship where if the kid is learning you can't drag them out of their home and stick them in a normal school. Sure we got laws if the parents are beating the living daylights out of the kid for no reason then sure, the gov can take the kid away (I agree that if the kid is getting beat for no reason then he/she wouldn't be there).
I hear so many people say "Keep the government out of the home, they can't tell us what we can and can't do", well I partly agree with that. That family should have never had that judge and that truant officer do that to them. Both of them needs to be kicked out of their jobs.

It's been happening since 1852 in our country (started in Massachusetts ), around 1870 in England (Here in Michigan-1871 homeschooling didn't get fully legallized until 1996. Reforms passed in 1996 under then-Governor John Engler-a State Supreme Court decision in 1993 led the way.), and started around the late 1700s in Prussia (BTW homeschooling is and has been outlawed in Germany since Hitler banned it in 1938)

Before yous start calling me terms like "bigot", "homophobe", "Fascist", "Nazi", "slimeball", "hatemonger", "neo-con", "racist", "John Birch Society", "Klansman", let me get the following out-
Most people think this is a solution. I do not.

Compulsory attendance should be outright repealed, IMO.
It benefits no one, except for greedy school districts and teacher unions despearte for money, plus law enforcement personnel who have better things to do like respond to murder and larceny calls, traffic violations, and the like.
Even students who want to be in class are disturbed by violent students who are forced into the classroom against their will

If I was a member of Congress, the NEA would give me a rating precentage of a big fat, egg-shaped ZERO (indicating all anti-public education votes)
