What would happen if a lv. 100 Groudon and a lv. 100 Kyogre went into battle at the same time, which ability would work, Drought or Drizzle? Or would they cancel each other out?

Humm...**Takes the GBA SP from the pocket** Let me see.
Your Groundon
Opponents Kyogre
Your Groundon: Enter in the battle. Activate Drought
Opponents Kyogre: Enter the battle. Activate Drizzle. Cancels Drought.
-----------------
Your Groundon
Wild Kyogre
Wild Kyogre Appears. Activate Drizzle.
Your Groundon. Enter the Battle. Cancels Drizzle. Activate Drought.
-----------------
There are other possibilities, but those two are the most common.

hmm...actually, I think the field would be both sunny and rainy. I've battled with Groudon in that rainy area east of Fortree, and between turns, it said:
"the rain continues!"
"the sunlight is strong!"

kinda paradoxical...but true

Hey tmbjr, i did the same thing and the sunlight stopped the rain! Now Tig, lets suppouse its a link battle:
Player 1 Groundon
Player 2 Kyogre
P1 Groundon: Enter in battle. Activate Drought.
P2 Kyogre: Enter in battle. Activate Drizzle. Cancels Droughth.
the player 2 send out his pkmn after the player 1.ALWAYS!!!
So the p2 pkmn abillity will work, and the p1 no.

In Battle Tower I see the defending Pokmon before I see my own, so isn't that player 1 gets the active ability?

Or is it player one's Pokmon comes out first in link battles?

The second person gets the active ability if both battlers have an ability that causes a change in the field...but one-turn things and constant things that don't affect the weather or the field aren't affected by the effects of the opposing pokemon in the battle...I think Kyogre vs. Groudon might be the only case where there would ever be a cancellation of the first player's effect.

But I've never link battled on R/S, so I don't know about the player1/2 thing...

I doubt I'll ever get to link battle in my area, I don't know anyone with the game, and if I did, I wouldn't waste 30 to get Ruby or Sapphire (because I currently have the ROM's)

Btw Ice Master, Groudon doesn't get STAB for Solar Beam, and Drizzle has nothing to do with it.
