Standard Spinner Starmie (hey that’s an alliteration!)

Aggron w. Leftovers
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Rock Slide
- Thunder Wave
Ability: Rock Head
Trait: Impish

Aggron? More like Rhydon, who looks the same but is far better at physical walling since it doesn’t have glaring weaknesses to two common physical attack types. In fact, if you want a physical wall who can also attack, go with Donphan. It can’t resist as many types, but at least it doesn’t have any 4x weaknesses. It makes a much better phazer than Houndoom and you can also replace Starmie with another Water type since Donphan can Spin. If you want a wall that resists both Normal and Flying but don’t mind a lower attack power, get a Steelix or Skarmory.

Blissey w. Leftovers
- Aromatherapy
- Softboiled
- Seismic Toss
- Thunder Wave
Ability: Natural Cure
Trait: Bold

Go go standard Blissey!

Gengar w. Liechi Berry
- Sludge Bomb
- Thunderbolt
- Explosion
- Shadow Ball
Ability: Levitate
Trait: Adamant

Physical attacking Gengar eh? Meh, it works in a way, I still like McGar better. What I don’t like are Pokemon who carry boosting berries but don’t have Substitute or Endure. Don’t rely on luck to have every attack deal only 75%-99% of Gengar’s health so that you’ll get the boost. More often than not it will deal too little or it will OHKO you. Anyways, feel free to put Substitute over any one of those moves. I’d say Sludge Bomb since you don’t have a Grass weakness. All your Pokemon resist it except for Starmie

Zapdos w. Leftovers
- Thunderbolt
- Rest
- Drill Peck
- Sleep Talk
Ability: Pressure
Trait: Rash

Sucks that you can’t get decent Hidden Powers in game. This is as good as you can get with Zappy (I assume you don’t have access to Metal Sound or Baton Pass from Pokemon XD).

Houndoom w. Lum Berry
- Crunch
- Flamethrower
- Pursuit/Beat Up/Sunny Day
- Will-O-Wisp/Solarbeam
Ability: Early Bird
Trait: Timid

Phazing Houndoom? No. Houndoom does not have the defenses to make an effective phazer and more often than not, opponents will attack you instead of setting up. Again with the boosting berry. I’d say Lum Berry works just as well if not better as you can switch in on random Grass types who try to put you to sleep. Will-o-wisp is iffy on Houndoom. On the one hand, burning Swampert and Snorlax and such is cool, but on the other hand they’ll just Rest it off and it would totally suck if WoW missed (which it does often). Pursuit KOs Gengar and Alakazam, and does a number on Dusclops and Celebi. Beat Up surprises Blissey which is nice as your team is pretty special oriented. You can even use Sunny Day if you want to go all out special sweeping.
Oh yeah, and Timid is a much better nature.

No, Dark Venusaur, don’t rate teams if you don’t know anything about competitive battling. Starmie can’t learn Shadow Ball and doesn’t need Psychic and neither does Gengar. Standard Aggron doesn’t need Earthquake because Focus Punch covers the types that EQ does, plus its stronger.

Right, I decided not to create a new topic for this. But I've gone through the suggestions and modified the team. Starmie and Aggron have been dropped entirely, and Lapras and Donphan have been added. Other than that, changes are limited to natures and moves.

Blissey w. Leftovers
- Aromatherapy
- Softboiled
- Seismic Toss
- Thunder Wave
Ability: Natural Cure
Trait: Bold

Gengar w. Liechi Berry
- Substitute
- Explosion
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball

Zapdos w. Leftovers

- Sleep Talk
Ability: Pressure

Houndoom w. Lum Berry
- Crunch
- Flamethrower
- Beat Up
- Will-O-Wisp
Ability: Early Bird
Trait: Timid

Lapras w. Leftovers
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Confuse Ray
- Body Slam
Ability: Shell Armour
Trait: Modest

Donphan w. Leftovers
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide
- Roar
- Earthquake
Ability: Sturdy
Trait: Lax

Thunderbolt over Body Slam on Lapras. I'd suggest Rest or Sing over either Surf or Thunderbolt in that case.

It’s very good, just needs a few adjustments.

*Make Donphan Impish please. I’m mean, sure you aren’t gonna stay in against special sweepers but you still need your Sp. Def stat more than Sp. Atk.

*Go with Water Absorb as Lapras’s trait. It’s more important that you counter the likes of Suicune and such than worry about critical hits.

*I can see Swampert giving this team some problems. Lapras can stall it a bit and Gengar can KO it with Liechi-boosted Explosion, but they aren’t real counters for Swampy.

We can go Sceptile>Lapras, Sceptile stalls and makes Non-Ice Beam Swampys run to their moms :\

I was thinking Sceptile too, but I’d take out Houndoom for it because it contributes the least to this team.

Blissey - special walls and heals
Donphan - physical walls, spins, phazes
Gengar – Normal and Fighting resist
Zapdos – Counters standard Gyarados, Salamence, Metagross
Lapras – Your only real counter for Calm Mind Suicune

Without Pursuit, Houndoom can’t guarantee taking down Alakazam/Gengar cause they’ll just switch. Also Houndoom is the frailest Pokemon on this team. It’s alright to be frail as long as you have great speed and attack like Alakazam and Deoxys-F. Houndoom sp. attack and speed are nothing impressive.

Plus Sceptile resists Leech Seed which is very useful in my opinion.

Excellent IMO. I personally would use Sludge Bomb or Fire Punch (for personal reasons) over Thunderbolt for that set, but other wise its straight. I'd suggest a steel or rock type for future use, as donphan can only take so many physical hits for the team.

Yay!

Okay, now that the Pokemon and moves are set, I'll put up some EVs. (bear with me, I know)

Blissey w. Leftovers
- Aromatherapy
- Softboiled
- Seismic Toss
- Thunder Wave
Ability: Natural Cure
Trait: Bold
EVs: 252 HP/252 Defense/6 Speed

Zapdos w. Leftovers
- Thunderbolt
- Rest
- Drill Peck
- Sleep Talk
Ability: Pressure
Trait: Rash
EVs: 6 HP/252 Speed/252 Special Attack

Sceptile w. Leftovers
- Leaf Blade
- Endeavour
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
Ability: Overgrow
Trait: Timid
EVs: 6 HP/252 Speed/252 Special Attack

Lapras w. Leftovers
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Confuse Ray
- Sing
Ability: Water Absorb
Trait: Modest
EVs: 196 HP/46 Defense/104 Special Attack/164 Special Defense

Gengar w. Liechi Berry
- Substitute
- Explosion
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Punch
Ability: Levitate
Trait: Adamant
EVs: 80 HP/252 Attack/176 Special Attack

Donphan w. Leftovers
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide

In retrospect it would have probably been a better idea to put the EVs up with the original Pokemon, ah well...=/

You know you dont have to put em all at 252/252/6 spread. Especially the staller sceptile would need some outta speed and some outta sp.atk for his defences and his hp. You might wanna give zapdos some attack if u stick with drill peck. Thats all i can see

*Eh, Sceptile doesn’t need any EVs in the Defenses. It needs max speed to be able to outrun as many things as possible and to possibly tie with Alakazam. It needs max Sp. Attack because its base Sp. Attack is rather low compared to other special attackers.

*Gengar needs speed somewhere. Take out all the HP EVs and put them into Speed, then take a bunch from Special Attack and add them into Speed as well. About 176 should do. Gengar isn’t going to be using Fire Punch too often anyways, only against Steels.

*One thing you never want to do on Zapdos is max out its Speed or Sp. Attack. Especially sleep talk Zapdos, because it needs to survive hits. Take off some from both stats and put them into Defense/HP and maybe some in Attack. As you can see, Pokemon that use both special and physical attacks are hard to set EVs for.

You don’t suck at rating, ice_blade. You have a good understanding of what works and what doesn’t on a Pokemon. Sometimes your EVs are off, but that’s okay. =)

Anyways, Ogre, this team has come along very nicely. It’s hard to set EVs for in-game Pokemon since their IVs are all over the place. But besides suggesting that you put Surf on Lapras over Confuse Ray since you have no Water attacks on this team, I think it looks great.
