Interesting. It looks like you want Doom to handle both physical walls and special walls. But that not a good idea. Even with max Attack, a Houndoom with HP Fighting cannot do more than 37% to standard Blissey and even less to standard Snorlax. Let’s not forget that Blissey has Softboiled while Snorlax can kill Houndoom in one hit. If you really want to handle Bliss specifically, give it Beat Up. Otherwise, use HP Grass for Swampert. Either way, Max out his Sp. Attack and Speed and don’t even bother with the defenses.

Marowak (M) @ Thick Club
Trait: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 42 Def / 216 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bonemerang
- Double-Edge
- Rock Slide
- Swords Dance

It’s a good Marowak moveset, but I’d seriously focus on Speed. I know Marowak is super slow, but if you make it Jolly with max Speed EVs, you can outrun slow Milotics and just barely outrun a Suicune with no speed. If you wish to keep it Adamant, then Marowak needs to be Baton Passed Speed from another Pokemon.

Ampharos (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Static
EVs: 252 HP / 122 Atk / 136 SAtk
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Punch
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt

It’s a good moveset and Ampharos is a cool Pokemon, but Ampharos overall is outclassed by Jolteon/Zapdos/Raikou. You can keep it if you want, but its not going to be doing much especially when you have Magneton below…

Magneton @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 96 Def / 64 Spd / 252 SAtk / 96 SDef
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Reflect
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt

Ah, Maggy. It’s a good moveset, but I prefer my Maggy’s with more Speed. If you give it 223, you can outrun both Adamant Tyranitar and Taunt Umbreon.

Milotic (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Marvel Scale
EVs: 76 HP / 76 Def / 48 Spd / 252 SAtk / 56 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Hypnosis
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Surf

Er, never give Milo max Sp. Attack. You should concentrate on HP and Defense first since it needs to be able to survive the likes of Salamence and Tyranitar. Give it at the least 250 Defense total (that’s 136 EVs). Special attack comes second.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 140 Def / 56 SAtk / 60 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Aromatherapy
- Seismic Toss/Counter
- Ice Beam
- Softboiled

First rule of Blissey is max Defense ALWAYS. It’s Defense is more important than any other stat, so every single point counts. I don’t know why you’d put Flamethrower on Blissey. I guess you can catch Heracross and Metagross who switch in, but they’ll ultimately kill you off before you can kill them. Besides, Bliss has better choices like the consistent Seismic Toss or a surprise Counter.

This team has a huge Swampert weakness, and I mean HUGE. 5/6th of this team dies to Swampert and Milotic can barely handle it. It’s also redundant that you have 2 Electrics on this team. My advice is to replace Ampharos with a Grass type like Celebi/Ludicolo/Sceptile.

Your team also lacks a physical wall and something that can phaze. Hey, guess what? Donphan/Steelix/Skarmory can do both of these things.
So replace Houndoom (sorry, I don’t find Houndoom that useful in standard and its also a bad starter) with one of those three.

Hmm, but then you’ll be stuck with 2 slow Ground types if you choose Donphan/Steelix. My question is do you really NEED Marowak? I mean, it’s attack is super high, maxing out at 568, but there are Pokemon who can reach even higher numbers using Choice Band (and are much faster). I suggest Salamence because it is immune to Ground (all teams should have a Ground immunity), counters Heracross, and hits everything hard with 607 Attack,

EVs: 6 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

My first question with Alakazam is why are you choosing Choice Band when you have no physical attacks to speak of. I can only assume that you are using Trick, but that makes it too situational since you would only want to do that against a similar opposing Poke with no physical attacks. That means you will need to either learn or quickly guess what moveset the opposing Poke is using. With its crappy defenses, that isn't a risk I would be willing to make. I would suggest Leftovers (since it is apparent that there is no issuing repeating items) or even Lum Berry or stat-boosting Berry.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 96 Atk / 192 Spd / 220 SAtk
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Drill Peck
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Standard Zap. You might consider Chesto Berry instead of Leftovers for one free Rest, but just a suggestion. Leftovers always works.

Gengar (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 180 Atk / 252 Spd / 76 SAtk
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Explosion
- Ice Punch
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt

Hmmm. I cannot comment on this one. To me it appears to being going from one redundancy to another. I would HIGHLY suggest you switch out IP or TB for Giga Drain.
Again, not sure if you know this, but Choice Band only works on physical moves. I am also not sure why you took out Blissey, included two physically weak Pokes when you have no physical wall to speak of, and didn't adequately address your weakness to Swampert. Put Blissey back in (over Alakazam) and switch Marowak for Steelix or Skarmory. I suggest the metal bird.

Shane, TrickBand Alakazam works remarkably well. Only Choice Banders have nothing to fear from it. Even physical Pokemon will get messed up because most of them rely on supporting moves like Swords Dance and Substitute, or the ability to use more than one move at a time. By taking that away from them and using prediction to switch to an appropriate counter, their usefulness plummets. Of course, TrickBand works best when you’re up against a special attacker. The trick (no pun intended) is to not use Trick until your opponent has revealed all or a majority of his team. Then you can select a non-physical Pokemon that’s giving you the most trouble (Suicune? Blissey? Zapdos?) and then use Trick.

Anyways, I agree that Blissey was great on your team. You now lack a Pokemon to take special hits and you STILL lack a physical wall.

Magneton was good on your team too. It was your only way of a guaranteed KO on Skarmory or Forretress. Now you need a Spinner since you took Magneton out.

Also, Swampert still gives your team problems. Either Hidden Power Grass on Zapdos or Giga Drain on Gengar for some protection.

What? The Pokemon Prof. didn't understand the point of Trickband Alakazam?
Dissapointment IMO.
On that Gengar, I use it, but Giga Drain is better to use than Psychic, as Psychic isn't really too useful without STAB. Go for more attack and take some EVs our of Spd. I use:

212 Atk / 136 Spd / 160 SAtk

Or something close to it.

Yikes. Thanks for the info on Trickband. My apologies to electricgrass. I figured there was probably a good reason electricgrass was using, but I was too dense to see it. Now that I understand it, it is pretty slick.

I guess its ok for a trickbander... but the EV's look off for someone who isnt gonna be attacking all the time

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 95 Atk / 183 Spd / 232 SAtk
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Drill Peck/metal sound
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Rest

Giving zappy metal sound can make him for special sweeping so the EV's in the ATK can go somewhere else

Salamence (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 136 Def / 92 SAtk / 30 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Flying]

Needs some speed, even with the dragon dance, It is only weak against one physical type so it doesnt need THAT much DEF... Its a good moveset IMO

Marowak (M) @ Thick Club
Trait: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 6 SDef
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Bonemerang
- Double-Edge
- Rock Slide
- Swords Dance

Marowak is a beast... I hope he's fast enough to help you

EVs: 76 HP / 112 Def / 48 Spd / 216 SAtk / 56 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)

Looks good, you might wanna take some out of SP.ATK and put them in HP and DEF as It doesnt need to be that strong

Gengar (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 180 Atk / 252 Spd / 76 SAtk
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Explosion
- Giga Drain
- Ice Punch
- Thunderbolt

OMG ITS GENGAR I LOVE GENGAR!!! Looks good, but it should be your starter and I don't think it needs THAT much ATK just to pull off a good explosion, I always like destiny bond (with salac berry of course) more but thats just me
Good Team... But they are mostly sweepers, I'd replace marowak with skarmory or foretress or some other physical wall

I'd put Recover over Ice Punch to heal some damage after being hit by any random special attack. The EVs are fine really, since after the Trick, Alakazam will be turned into a traditional sweeper.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 95 Atk / 183 Spd / 232 SAtk
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Sleep Talk
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Sleep Talk please. Drill Peck won't work as well as you think. You need at least 200 Attack EVs to be able to do significant damage to Blissey, Snorlax, even Celebi. But that takes away from your other stats, so in the end it's not really worth it.

Salamence (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 136 Def / 92 SAtk / 30 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Flying]

Oh, you got a Salamence. Okay, any Pokemon with Dragon Dance (except for Tyranitar) should have 264 Speed to outrun things like Jolteon and Aerodactyl after one DD. Otherwise, it's fine.

Marowak (M) @ Thick Club
Trait: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 6 SDef
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Bonemerang
- Double-Edge
- Rock Slide
- Swords Dance

As good as it can get, but still, do you really need Marowak seeing as you can't pass any speed to it?

Milotic (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Marvel Scale
EVs: 76 HP / 112 Def / 48 Spd / 216 SAtk / 56 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Hypnosis
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Surf

It's needs a lot more HP and Defense. Put 212 in HP for max Leftovers recovery. At least 136 in Defense (I usually go 172 to be safe) so you can survive hits from Salamence and such.

Gengar (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 180 Atk / 252 Spd / 76 SAtk
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Explosion
- Giga Drain
- Ice Punch
- Thunderbolt

Gengar doesn't need Max speed. It only needs 332 to outspeed Tyranitar after one Dragon Dance. Shove the extras in Special Attack.

Again, you still lack a physical and special wall. Although you don’t NEED a physical wall persay, since you can switch between Milotic for Tyranitar/Salamence, Zapdos for Metagross, and Salamence for Fighters. But it is important that you get a special wall, I’m thinking Snorlax to go over Marowak so that it can still attack physically but also take special hits.

HP Grass please. Swampert gives the rest of your team problems. Leftovers over Lum Berry since Sub takes care of status. Also, I'd just max Sp. Attack and put the rest in HP or Defense.

Eh, Registeel? Registeel sucks, trust me, I've used it before. It's inferior to Regirock and Regice. Besides, even if you do use Registeel (which you shouldn't), at least give it max HP. HP boosts both Defense and Special Defense at the same time. Anyways, what this team needs is Regice since it needs some form of protection from special attacks.

- Rest/Substitute
- Roar
- Spikes

Want to kill Magneton in one hit? Yeah right, don't even bother. Besides, while you've EVed this Skarm specifically for Magneton, you've neglected the fact that Skarm will be so much easier to kill now that it doesn't have any HP and barely any Defense. If you're that paranoid about Maggy, either use Roar as soon as you send Skarm out or use Sub to protect yourself if a Magneton does appear. But trying giving it HP Ground is a big no-no.

Starmie @ Leftovers ** 2l+2h
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam/Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin
- Recover

Don't do it, don't use sweeper Starmie. It can handle a lot of stuff, but your opponent is just gonna use a Blissey or other special wall. Besides, you need to take care of those Spikes so set your EVs for Spinner Starmie.

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers ** D=rx2
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 157 HP / 255 Atk / 6 Def / 84 Spd / 8 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Taunt

Thunderbolt isn't needed. What is it good against? Skarm? But Taunt works just as well since Skarm can't Roar you away after its been taunted. Besides, what can Skarm do to Tyranitar? It's not like anybody uses Steel Wing.

Azumarill (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Huge Power
EVs: 242 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Focus Punch
- Hidden Power [Ghost]
- Encore/Charm
- Substitute

Azumarill is awesome, though its out of place in this team. Also, you need a Brave nature because you want to be as slow as possible to ensure that you Sub last and it still survives into the next turn. Also, it's barely going to be doing anything with Hydro Pump from a measly 122 Sp. Attack. Use Encore to make opponents repeat non-damaging moves so that you get a free Sub, or Charm physical attackers until they can't deal any big damage to you.
