COME ON like Giovanni would let his agents stalk the same kid for 5 years and accomplish nothing at all, spending huge amouts of resources on giant robots to steal this one kids little pikachu. Now even 7 year olds can figure out how much sense that makes. Also, after removing Misty they had multiple people take her place, and one pokemon. Also Brock also has less reason to be on an adventure then Misty. He has what 10 little siblings to help take care of, AND he wants to be a breeder, which means studying and staying in one place, so him running about for years with a kid half his age makes very little sense.... So why do the writers think she can be a master of water pokemon if the only ones she sees are
By the way. HI! I would like to join the Misty fan club. I've had a huge crush on her since I was like 7 since I first saw her when I was playing pokemon Red for the first time.
Also my favorite Misty pokemon is her Gyrados

Welcome to the club.
And Brock had even less of a reason to continue on with Ash, as well. In fact, he arguably had even more of a reason for him to be put in a Gym (to paraphrase the old adage) than Misty ever did, seeing how his Gym had probably failed 2/3rds of the test and was even less maintained than Cerulean Gym. Heck, the first replacement seemed to fold a bit too quickly, and the second replacement actually managed to take her job as Gym Leader even less seriously than Misty's sisters ever did (and you have to admit that that in itself was an accomplishment, and certainly not something to brag about or compliment someone on), and she ruined the gym in more ways than Misty's sisters ever did. I mean, she gave the Gym a very bad makeover, and put a pool in the rock training area which nearly killed a few rock-types, which definitely would have caused it to fail those two parts of the PIA inspections, and most likely would have had it close down, even if she were present. Later, she managed to make it even worse by allowing shady painters (you know who they are) to ruin the gym even MORE than before, and basically, contrary to usual advise to small children, accept plane tickets from total strangers, and basically placed her gym at an unnecessary risk of being stolen from, and to add insult to injury, Forrest, the third gym leader, didn't even stop her, despite the fact that he has complete responsibility of the gym! Despite all this, Brock never returned to take control of the gym, despite the fact that this would have been the responsible thing to do. Personally, I'm quite surprised that he still didn't give the gym much thought. I know if I were him, the very first thing I'd have to think of is keeping the Gym in order and not allow anyone, not even my family members who kept on tarnishing the gym, tarnish it even further.
And if the reason why Team Rocket stayed was because they viewed them as the main antagonists and thus absolutely necessary, then they should have made them an actual threat back in Hoenn and not keep them around as the Comic Relief as they were at that time and wait until BW to actually make them a complete threat. One rule of making the antagonists main antagonists and thus irreplacable in a series like this is that they have to be a threat. I mean, even Bowser, probably a villain who acts like a comic relief character some of the time, at least tries to be a threat some of the time.
Either way, replacing Misty, regardless of how one chalks it up, was a huge mistake, and as evidenced by the ratings that Pokeani provided, the show suffered as a direct result even in Japan. Plus, keeping Ash and removing Misty, since they both have very similar goals, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. What's the point in even keeping Ash and having him follow through with his goal of becoming a Pokemon Master (in which the parameters weren't even defined well at all, not even in DP) if Misty, whose goal is similar, has to contend to basically becoming a punching bag and being beaten down by rookies. From what I can tell, she'll end up exactly like JJM prior to BW in terms of being a completely weak loser if she continues on like this, so she really needs to return to the show, if not to stop sexism and pornography (and for the record, I'm straight, and I'm against it because my religion states that those things are bad, and I try to take my religion very seriously), then at least to actually give her goal some sense of closure.
