To get an increase in happiness you must do this:
-Keep the Pokemon in your party
-Give it Proteins and other Stat-boosting items (the expensive way)
-Level it up
-Quickly heal it's status problems and quickly heal it when it faints

Then, it's Happiness will go up

How slick :D

Anyway, I personally think all pokemon should evolve with happiness. Make them less predictable and robotic.
But if they only evolve through happiness without training, then I guess that's a bad idea too. Especially since Pokemon really evolve when they gained enough experience in battling which is ALMOST if not totally different from gaining happiness...

Anyways, it really needs a lot of methods to increase the happiness of Pokemons. I heard Soothe Bell can do the trick too, but I'm not sure exactly.

That would take forever though, and like I said, I kept on killing my pokemon, I healed them though, they still didn't evolve for me though.

A bunch of Pokemon, including most of the baby Pokemon need Happiness to evovle (Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Riolu, Buneary, Golbat, Eevee, Chansey, Togepi). I think there are some others...

yes, I remember hearing about the steps.
But I have no idea how to calculate happiness, so I dont know how it works.

How to figure out how to work the happiness, or how to find out how much happiness your Pokemon has? Seewt Dawn just gave the latter, so I'm wondering what you were asking, 'cause you didn't make it too clear.

I love your theme though.
'It's been a prevalent notion. Fallen sparks. Fragments of vessels broken at the Creation. And someday, somehow, before the end, a gathering back to home. A messenger from the Kingdom, arriving at the last moment. But I tell you there is no such message, no such home -- only the millions of last moments . . . nothing more. Our history is an aggregate of last moments.'

Don't take my word for it, But i think so. Why do you need happyness anyways?
I want an Espeon on D/P, I've never had one before, and Espeon is my favorite Pokemon, thanks for the tips everyone! ^_^
I'll be sure to start with my Eevee sometime today maybe.

I don't mind about the hatching of eggs, it's something I can stand
Hatching one egg is nothing. But after 50 or so eggs that are released straight off, it starts to get to you.

I is an artist.

Competitive pokemon is serious business.
