Someone has probbaly already pointed this out but the 3 legendary birds have numbers.
Articuno
Zapdos
Moltres

Uno means 1, dos means 2, tres means 3. I'm not sure of the exact language but most European languages use these or something like these as 1, 2 and 3.

I just learned the Mewtwo has a two at the end, and two means dos in English. :P Most people knew about the legndary birds names anyway :P
Umm... two does not mean dos in English!! I think you got it backwards it means that in Spanish.

These news are very old. :knockedou

I never knew that until now. I didn't think that english Pokemon names would have other langwhichis(?) in them, I'm now under steading why some people use words from other langwhichis(?) in made up Pokemon.

They went Spanish On that one. Because in Portuguese its Um/Uma, Dois/Duas, and Trs. And French it's un, deux and, troix

But I thought most of everyone knew that.

:D Don't ya mean Chu means mouse and Pika is the sound it makes? Ya got it backwards.
'Chu' does mean mouse, but i've always heard that 'Pika' either meant 'Electric' or 'Lightning' and 'Rai' (as in Raichu) meant 'Thunder'

If I ever knew it was possible to wake up one morning and find the sweetest, most beautiful woman...I would've wanted to wake up a lot sooner.... Smart, sensible, pretty, funny, kind...are words that aren't close enough to describing just how perfect she truly is. Her cute smile, her warm auburn hair and her pale ice blue eyes, add to the beauty of her terrific personality.But most of all, she cares for me too; thats why I wear my best smile every day..."

To be honest with you, I never knew about that until I saw this thread o_O; Excellent observation Ytnim!

Oh, and if the thread that already stated hadn't been posted in for over a month, and he just wanted to bring this discussion up again, then him remaking this thread is perfectly fine.

But then again...don't all Japanese pokemon's names mean something? I only know a few words in Japanese, but for instance...

Shroomish = Kinokoko? Kinoko = Mushroom (I think o.o)

And that's about all I know ._.
