I didn't know where to put this so I decided to put this here.

I've read a lot of good books, most recommended by teachers, but my all time favorite would have to be A Tale of Two Cities, I loved that book. I think it was a great book and it has my favorite and one of the most well known opening sentences, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity...."

Well, what is your favorite book?

Well, there's too many to list, so I'll pick 5 from select authors.

Prey, Michael Crichon. If you ever want to read a good science fiction story, this book is for you, in it, an experiment with Nanobots goes out of control, and are self evolving, self sustaining, and self-reproducting. For all practical purposes, they are alive.

It has been programed as a preditor. It is evolving swiftly, becoming more deadly with each passing hour.

Every attempt to destroy it has failed.

And we are the prey.

Meg: Primal Waters, Steve Alten.

Move over Jaws, there's a new shark in town. The third book in the Meg series, Primal Waters follows the story of Jonas Taylor as he is asked to be a guest commentator on a reality show taking place in the Pacific.

But something goes wrong, contestents are being devowered by something that Jonas has seen before, and the eerie glow still haunts him.

The Megalodon has made its move.

Outbreak, Robin Cook.

Now this is a good book from the Master of the Medical Thriller. Its about a series of outbreaks of the deadly virus Ebola Hemorragic Fever in America, and a doctor's attemps to piece them all together.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, J.K Rowling.

My favorite book in the Harry Potter series.

The Hot Zone, Richard Preston.

One of the few non-fiction books I like. The Hot Zone centers on the history of the Ebola virus, from its first outbreak in Zaire, to the dangerous rumors that the Soviets where developing it as a bio-weapon.

God help us all if Ebola Zaire hits America.

Sphere by Michael Crichton has to be my top favourite. It's so interesting and I just love everything about it. @[email protected] After that, it's probably Jurassic Park, Prey, Rising Sun, and Timeline all by Crichton, in no particular order~

I also really like Dan Brown's novels. They're quite similar in composition to Crichtons, I suppose, so they both pique my interest. oo;

I like
Holes, any book from the Baby-Sitters Club series (except for the real crappy ones), mysteries, and classics and natural survival novels (they fascinate me)
But I'm a true sucker for the BSC right now. Just look at my sig
btw
----------------------------------------------------
Well if you wanna know why I like this series so much, it's because
1. I can actually relate to the characters in the book
2. The storyline isn't too contrived.... or maybe it is
3. It's a wholesome series, with the exception of some racial issues.
The contrived stuff:
About ten years pass while the girls are in eighth grade. I think every single girl has had a boyfriend at one time. They go on vacation everywhere on vacations that pop up out of nowhere. The two junior members are only eleven yet they can sit...... and another 11 yearold is a sittee (client). The girls seem to get away with murder. Claudia is a terrible speller. They never said anything about Stacey being rich although once you hear her old lifestyle in New York City, it's obvious... yet they keep telling you that Kristy's stepfather is a millionaire and omg is like teh richness.
It's an awesome series overall. It took place in the late 80s and went through the 90s even though it didn't seem like that....
I think I posted enough

Any James Patterson novel, most recently: The Fifth Horseman.

Also, the Batman Begins novelization (Dennis O'Niel), and X2: X-Men United -- X3: The Last Stand (Chris Claremont).

I can't help it, I grew up on comics and often am pleased by the novelizations of these.. failed.. attempts at blockbuster hits. Lol.

Crichton is amazing. All of his work is incredible. I've only read The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, but I just bought Angels & Demons and I look forward to starting that. XD I also love the HP series and of course LOTR.

Agreed. Those are my top favorites. As I am a fan of the fantasy genre, that is no surprise. However, there are many other books I love...in fact, the majority of the books I've read are books I've adored, and I almost feel as though leaving them out would be an insult to them. X3 However, there are way too many good books I've enjoyed to list them all... David Clement-Davies's novel The Sight is another one I particularly admire, though, so I suppose I could at least give it an honorable mention.
