I'm working on a 2 v 2 team with ubers to help me take on the Orre Colosseum on Pokemon Colosseum (they like to throw ubers at me, so I figure I'll use some myself). I decided to revolve my team around Groudon, so this is what I came up with....

Bear in mind this is in-game, so I can't do much about the natures.

[email protected] Band
Nature: Jolly
EV: 252 Att/152 Def/106 Speed
Swords Dance
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Thunder Wave

I haven't started training this one yet, but this is what I have in mind.

[email protected] Berry
Nature: Lonely
Trait: Chlorophyll
EV: 252 Att/60 Speed/198 Sp Att
Fake Out
Shadow Ball
Solarbeam
Protect

Fake Out helps me set up Groudon with SD, Protect for obvious reasons in 2 v 2, Solarbeam for STAB and Shadow Ball for the number of Psychics around. Defence? What's that?

[email protected] Bell
Nature: Modest
EV: 252 Speed/252 Sp Att/6 Sp Def
Solarbeam
Flamethrower
Dragon Claw
Crunch

Special Flygon. Flameclaw fun, might catch one of the [email protected] by surprise with Dragon Claw. Flygon makes a good anti-Groudon, I find. Not started on this yet.

[email protected] Berry
Nature: Calm
EV: 252 Sp Att/252 Sp Def/6 Speed
Thunder
Sacred Fire
Protect/Solarbeam
Rest

Again, not started on this one yet. Thunder for Kyogre.

[email protected]
Nature: Adamant
EV: 252 Att/252 Speed
Shadow Ball
Swords Dance
Protect
Toxic

Not started on this either. Toxic could be funny.

[email protected] Berry
Nature: Jolly/Naughty
EV: 252 Att/252 Speed/6 Def
Trait: Swarm
Megahorn
Endure
Reversal
Rock Slide

Anti-uber type Heracross. Toying with the idea of Naughty so I can pull off Endreving easier. Not started on this one.

This is what I'm looking at as a somewhat final team. I'm toying with throwing in a Helping Hand Jumpluff somewhere as well, could pull off some nasty combos with Groudon. I figure I'll ask for rates now, it'll save me some time while I level up my finished Shiftry.

Well...I'm not too wild about the whole mixing Ubers and UUs thing (Groudon and Shiftry), although Fake Out does seem to have its merits. Anyway, Lum Berry is the way to go for Shedinja item-wise, that way it will be able to take one hit from an otherwise lethal Poison/Burn move and keep on kicking. I'd say Jumpluff over Shiftry, though, something along the lines of

@Leftovers
Nature: Bold (+Defense, -Attack) or Calm (+Sp.Defense, -Attack)
Substitute
Helping Hand
Encore/Sleep Powder
Solarbeam

With the aid of Groudon's 'Drought' trait, Jumpluff will be able to outspeed the most, and, like you said, Helping Hand lets it deal some serious combo damage with Groudon. Since part of Shiftry's purpose was to keep opponents occupied, Sleep Powder could be used to that end. It's not quite as reliable, but at least it's reusable. Encore is another option as it, combined with a bit of switching, lets you mess up your opponent's strategy pretty bad, say...Encoring your opponent on a Grass or Ice type attack aimed at Groudon only to switch in sheddy, Substitute is a regular pain in the behind and should definitely be included while Solarbeam makes for a fairly powerful pounding move, even with Jumpluff's measly Sp.Attack. I'd also consider Jumpluff a better choice simply because that way you won't have to waste its turn on Protect every time Groudon Earthquakes.

Other than that, I'd suggest going a bit more physical with Ho-oh. Its Attack is higher than its Sp.Attack after all, so maybe Earthquake or Aerial Ace over Solarbeam. Thunder...it's anti-Kyogre, enough said. I'm a bit doubtful about Rest as well...Recover seems a better choice imo, especially with Ho-oh's nasty double Rock weak. But if you're status paranoid then go ahead.

On XD yes they are banned, on Pokemon Colosseum they aren't banned, and BTW they use enough ubers themselves in that tourney.

I take your point about Ho-oh, Rest isn't nearly as great in 2 v 2 anyway. AA would at least get STAB, even with a -Att trait it will still hurt a bit, and gives me something extra to take Shedinja on with.

As for Jumpluff, I've already used my Substitute Move Tutor, Protect is almost as useful and besides Sub isn't that great in 2 v 2. I think I'll stick with Shiftry for now, but if I fancy a change to Jumpluff I'll keep your suggestion in mind.

I was checking through my items and discovered I had a Sacred Ash on my XD game. I think I'll give that to Ho-oh instead.

[email protected] Ash
Nature: Calm
EV: 212 Sp Att/252 Sp Def/44 Att
Sacred Fire
Thunder
Protect
Aerial Ace

Looks more like it, methinks.

You have Sacred Fire to take on Sheddy. There are so many good attacks for Ho-oh. Go Recover/SolarBeam/Calm Mind/Reflect/Whirwind. I say recover. Reflect+Recover=Awesome wall so think about it

I guess Whirwind can be considered, but probably not Reflect.

You've obviously never seen CB Rayquaza in action. That thing is monster.

Got me thinking now about Ho-oh. Too many options to decide. I'll ponder it a bit more.

Final team selection, and with this lot I managed to get through both the Tower Colosseum and Orre Colosseum 2 v 2 battles. Myth Trainer Inity gave me the most trouble (4 Continues used) but the rest were not too bad.

[email protected] Band
Trait: Drought
EV: 252 Att/100 Def/158 Speed
Nature: Jolly
Swords Dance
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Thunder Wave

I love this bad boy. T-Wave is more useful than I first thought, even in 2 v 2.

Shiftry(M)@Brightpowder
Trait: Chlorophyll
EV: 252 Att/60 Speed/198 Sp Att
Nature: Lonely
Fake Out
Shadow Ball
Protect
Solarbeam

Chlorophyll Sunnybeamer. Does a good number on the relatively few Psychics.

Shedinja(F)@Lum Berry
Trait: Wonder Guard
EV: 255 Att/255 Speed
Nature: Naughty
Grudge
Shadow Ball
Protect
Toxic

Grudinja. Surprisingly more useful than I first gave credit for. Helps with my teams heavy Ice weakness.

[email protected]
Trait: Pressure
EV: 60 HP/24 Def/170 SpAtt/4 Speed/252 Sp Def
Nature: Calm
Flamethrower
Thunder
Recover
Light Screen

Not as useful offensively, but good for team support with LS. EVs look a bit funny, but they seem to work ok.

Flygon(F)@Scope Lens
Trait: Levitate
EV: 252 Speed/252 Sp Att/6 HP
Nature: Modest
Dragon Claw
Flamethrower
Solarbeam
Protect

Protect gives me enough time to set up T-Wave.

Heracross(M)@Salac Berry
Trait: Swarm
EV: 252 Att/252 Speed/6 Def
Nature: Jolly
Megahorn
Endure
Reversal
Rock Slide

Oh yeah, this guy is fun to play with. Had a few accuracy issues, but apart from that is a killer.

There is no such thing as a 255/255 spread.

Yes there is.Just unclick the snap button.Granted he did waste 6 EV pts but in Sheddy's case, its not like its going to make any difference.

EVs have to be divisible by four anyway so there is really no difference between 252/252 and 255/255.

Heh, I mainly wanted an excuse to see what Sheddy could do in a fairly competitive environment, which is why I added him. The rest of the team were for balance, Flygon is probably one of the best anti-Groudon (although the one Inity has uses Frustration which is a 2HKO, and seemingly either faster or has a Quick Claw), Shiftry because I wanted a Chlorophyll Solarbeamer, Ho-oh for Sp Def purposes, and Endreving Heracross because they can take down at least one thing before it dies. Flygon, Shedinja and Ho-oh also immune to EQ which is helpful for Groudon combos, and Shiftry and Heracross also resist Ground and have Protect and Endure respectively.

Overall, the team itself I think is reasonably balanced. I also managed to rip through the single battle Orre Colosseum with this team as well, Myth Trainer Infin was easier than Inity.
