I was quite disappointed to say the least. I can't believe how far they strayed away from the cartoon. They may be going off the comic more though, I didn't read those. I expected more from it though.
yea i got a comic where a few of the main character are well you know what.. including the ones in the move.. although it was psylocke who aws the heroine against mesmero
i diidnt like x 3 either.. they needed apocalypse before they could even think about onslaught

Well, actually.

Spoiler:
The cure is permanent, however, Professor Xavier states that once the X Gene is active - there is nothing that can stop it. So, while the cure is permanent, it simply isn't strong enough to completely halt these abilities; most mutants won't receive their full mutant gifts back, after all.
I disagree, I think that meant that the 'cure' supresses the gene, for a time & the gene will eventually retake control & have their abilities fully restored.

At least, that's what I think we were meant to think.

Edit I've just done alot of research on the Dark Phoenix saga of the comics, & it somewhat follows the story of the end of x-men two...

Spoiler:
Only the water from the **** being replaced by radiation from the sun, & Alkali Lake being replaced by Jamaica Bay. & the phoenix force actually cloned Jean Grey, & left the real one inside the lake to heal. & the clone left, & eventually died. So if that's in accordance, Jean's still alive, but still in the cocoon of telekinetic energy under the lake.

Spoiler:
The only reason Cyclops died, anyway, is due to the fact James Marsden had scheduling conflicts. During the filming of X-Men 3, he also had a supporting role in Superman Returns!. (I only spoilered this because some may not know that Cyclops did die.)
well aint that a female dog.. because he was the one that was supossed to help repress the pheonix

and mage i dont think thats gonna happen since.. wel.. the prof said that the pheonix was being repressed by him...

There will be a X-men 4 but Wolverine will not be in it i know this to be true becaues i watched a tv show where they interviewed Vinnie Jones (Juggernaut in last stand) who said he has signed a contract for x-men 4 and 5

Wolverine will not be in it becaue Hugh Jackman is doing Van Helsing 2 at the same time and both films said they will not wait for him and so they are goin to to a film based at the same time as the 4th X-men but based soleley on Wolverine after he has finished
Van Helsing 2

Also more of the cast for X-men 4 have been Confirmed
Patrick Stewart (Xavier)
Ian McKellan (Magneto)
Vinnie Jones (Juggernaut)
Famke Janssen (Jean Grey/ Phoenix. a bigger role)
James Marsden (Cyclops. Bigger role too. The lead one.)
Anna Paquin (Rogue)
Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler)
Shawn Ashmore (Iceman)
Rebecca Romijn (Mystique)
David Anders (Angel)
John Rhys-Meyers (Gambit)
Daniel Cudmore (Colossus)
Aaron Stanford (Pyro)
Kea Wong (Jubilee)
Tyler Mane (Sabretooth)
Ray Park (Toad)

also there are Rumors that the next film will include Apocalips and his Army which gives us a clue to what the next storyline will be

No.

If you didn't notice in X2, he's actually a member of Stryker's brainwashed mutant taskforce. (He removes his mask as soon as they make it to the sub-basement of the mansion).

Atleast a film without Wolverine won't be hard to explain, since the bastard comes and goes as he pleases anyway.

Big Question: How are Jean and Cyclops going to be in this film? Any speculation yet? Clones from Sinister (to introduce Apocalypse's Horsemen), or will the real Jean be held in a cocoon-like telekinetic bubble and Cyclops simply claim that he, like every other occasion, came prepared with his Swiss Army Knife and Molecular Regenerator keychain?

I don't think that was Toad.. Looked more like a soldier with camo paint. I'll check again, and in the credits.

Umm.. Maybe they'll miracualously find that cyclops was inside the telekinetic cocoon with her.

I could have sworn that was Ray Park, hm. I'll also check the credits of the film, as IMDb is hardly trustworthy.

Edit: No, that wasn't Toad. He's a character that has a minor subplot in the X2 novelization, by the name of Lyman.

If Toad did die in X-Men, it may be that X4 is going to support flashbacks of some sort. As that could also support the listing of some other deceased characters on the cast.

none of the mutants died .. dont actually see sabertooth or toads body from the first movie..

amen to that, , he shouldnt have even been the main character in x3...

sinster would be great.. but not clones.. i always thought that as a sort of x-men hell xD
Cyclops simply claim that he, like every other occasion, came prepared with his Swiss Army Knife and Molecular Regenerator keychain?

I'm a huge fan of X-Men especially the cartoon series of the 90s, and so my question is, is it possible that they might make an X-Men 4 and it should be about when the X-Men and Brotherhoods teams up and faces Apcolypes that would diffently be a great movie ever!

Juggernaut was a mutant in the film (as it went by Ultimate standards, where he was born a mutant and only became stronger once being powered up by the Gem of Cyotakk). Colossus and Juggernaut would be a destructive fight (unless Juggernaut was, in turn, destroyed with the rest of the credible mutants for the sake of making that attention whore Wolverine more of a pseudo-hero).

Another interesting question, why did they name Quill "Kid Omega"? Kid Omega is a telepath. Quill can shoot porcupine needles from his cranium. I feel, for some reason, that there may be a small clashing of powers there. Can't quite put my finger on it though. Ah well, that's Rattner for you. Tries to improve on what bad Singer managed, and only made it worse. Three cheers for bad comic film movies.

If you watched after the credits:
Spoiler:
It shows the dude from the TV that was born without body functions. It turns out that Charles Xavier put his brain into the dude and now he can walk. That is a HUGE hint that there will be an X-Men 4.

i always thought he wasnt a mutant.. but only became a "mutant" from the helmet he wore.. like a magic power... take it off and he as strong as a strong human..something the x-men could deal with..

He wasn't a mutant in the Earth-616 universe. Ultimate Marvel (where it's okay for Stan Lee to be senile with old age) has made several twisted changes to the mutants we know and love. Gambit dies sixty-five issues in, Juggernaut is a mutant and in love with Rogue, Rogue absorbs Gambit's powers and can now touch people, Nick Fury is black, and Magneto acts more like a wreckless bafoon than his true, reserved self. Examples of this are A.) Referring to Charles Xavier as a "stupid cripple" and B.) Striking Polaris in the head with a chair.

All in all, the new Marvel universe is all that didn't happen in 616, because they knew it wouldn't sell. And I assume that it most likely doesn't (considering the constant fact that every other issue is a crossover, with Spiderman only being fifteen-years-old and dating the X-(Wo)Man known as Kitty Pryde). But enough of that explanation and back to the subject at hand. Kid Omega was an extreme level telepath whom became an avatar for the Phoenix Force later on in the comic series (proving for a fact that the Phoenix isn't a ****ed split personality syndrome), and Quill is a character, well, in the film, it's the latter Quill, who can sprout porcupine needles from his body.

For some reason, Brett Rattner thought to combine these names and casted the would-be Quill as Kid Omega in the credits ('Ch. So much for staying true to the comics in any way).

There HAS to be a sequel. How could it the series end without them have defeating apocolypse.
By killing off the team leader, his girlfriend, and the Professor (then sticking him into the corpse of a braindead old man), only then to make the one man that should never be the team leader assume the role and thus... Make him the hero of the story by ending the Phoenix's struggle by killing off her vessel current host. Oh, and making the biggest villain whom becomes an ally against Apocalypse a human because they're too idiotic to make a decent film.
