I say the worst are...

Fire: Charizard

Water: Feraligatr

Grass: Meganium

Blaziken and Typhlosion are better choices than charizard.

Swampert and Blastoise are better than Fearligatr. Then Sceptile and Venusaur is better than meganium. Although thats Debatable because Meganium has above average defense.

I agree. Feraligatr is the worst Water starter (and the worst starter of them all), and Meganium is the worst Grass starter. It’s hard to decide between Charizard and Typhlosion, because Typhlosion has excellent Speed and Special Attack, but Charizard has more sweeping potential and a wider variety of movesets.

Fire : Blaziken(Torchic)
Water: Swampert(Mudkip)
Grass: Sceptile(Treeko)

I, personally, didn't like the Hoenn starters, Blaziken doesn't learn flamethrower, Swampert doesn't learn Hydro Pump, and Sceptile doesn't learn Giga Drain, and I like those attacks, but I dont want to keep a pokemon from evolving for so long.

Fire: Typhlosion. I don't dislike it, although the other Fire starters are better IMO.
Water: Feraligatr. Blastoise has cool moves to play with, and Swampert just rocks with only a single weakness.
Grass: Meganium. Venusaur is very cool, and Sceptile has lots of things it can do.

Of course I'm Houndoom, I'm Toothache!
I get Crunch and Bite moves, tasty!

That is an interesting opinion. You can buy Flamethrower, Swampert not learning HP is a GREAT thing, and Sceptile has Leaf Blade - the best Grass-type move in the game.

As for the Best/Worst starters:

BEST
Fire: Blaziken (which shows how crappy Fire-types are to begin with)
Water: Swampert (best starter ever)
Grass: Venusaur (the epitome of a Grass-type)

WORST
Fire: Typhlosion
Water: Feraligatr
Grass: Meganium

Yes, the GSC starters were just plain bad. Charizard is much more popular than Blaziken, but that doesn't make it better. Sadly. Personally, I hope that DP doesn't follow the lame F/W/G starter crap we have been subjected to for far too long now, and go a different route. Both Colosseum and XD were a great change of pace. I wouldn't mind a Fighting/Rock/Flying choice for a starter, for the reasons that aragornbird mentioned in a different thread.

Swampert CAN learn Hydro Pump, but it learns it as a Mudkip. Also, Giga Drain sucks on Sceptile because it gets Leaf Blade, which is way better.

Even though the RS Starters are ugly, this thread is not about how good the Pokemon look, it’s about how good they are in battle. And in battle, the R/S Starters are the best in each three types.
