Sigs with no images -
If your sig contains no images...

You may have up to 25 lines of size 2 text
You may have up to 15 lines of size 3 text
You may have up to 10 lines of size 4 text
You may have up to 5 lines of size 5 text

You may not have anything larger than size 5 text in your signature.

Sigs with banners -
If your sig has a banner...

Sigs with banners of up to 100 X 100 To 300 X 100 pixels may have 15 lines of size 2 or 3 text, any other size may be up to 5 lines. No text bigger than size 5.

Sigs with banners between 200 X 300 To 500 X 300 pixes may have 10 lines of size 2 or 3 text, and 3 lines of anything bigger than size 3 text. No text bigger than size 5.
These are the stated rules, but there is something I don't understand.
What is the maximum size for signature images? These rules very clearly state how much text you can have next to your banner, but not how much banner...

I have seen people with multiple banners, and I just wondered, if you go over the 500x300 (maximum assuming you want text, I think), what's the limit?

The maximum size limit for images in your signature, is 500x300 pixel in area. (500 width, 300 height)
That means, that the sizes of all your signature images will be added together, and, if they exceed said size limit, your signature will probably be disabled/edited by a staff member.

As small example, let's say that you have 2 images in your signature.
One with the dimensions 100x100, and the other one with the dimensions 400x200 pixel.
The size of both images added together equals exactly 500x300 pixel, which is still within the limit, and therefore, okay.

However, if you would have images of 200x200 and 400x200 pixel, the size of both would equal 600x400 pixel, which is over the limit.
This signature has been disabled.
Height well exceeds 350px.
Please review and fix the issues by reading the signature rules.

You must edit it to meet the limits set by the rules before you may remove the [sig-reason] code from your signature. Removing this tag will re-enable it.

Do not remove the tag until you fix the issues in your signature. You may be infracted for removing this tag if you do not fix the specified issues. Do not use this tag for decoration purposes.

No, you couldn't. 500 width/300 height is the absolute limit, so any and all pictures need to stay within those dimensions.
