Wow. Imagine that. I am actually working on a fanfict and actually writing something down and not just talking about it. o-o; Possibly..hell froze over..? ...I dunno. I'll check later. Anyway, this happens to be my first fanfict I've ever actually written in like two years or so. x__X; Which means..I'm probably a bit rusty on this, but I'll get better. Vocab-wise...hopefully. Well, the title you see above isn't exactly the title I'll probably be sticking to. This is just a temporary title. I'll more than likely change it later on, but this is all I can think of for now. XP I'll probably post a chapter a day...if you're lucky. I currently made four chapters so far, but I only just finished revising the first one. Well, I hope you enjoy the story and below will be like...a summary, I guess. o-o; And more info..

Summary ~
What happens when Seto Kaiba learns that he has another sibling that he never even knew he had? A girl named Karin arrives in Domino City, hoping to find her long lost family and learns more about the Duel Monsters card game and the secrets of a few selected teens in the vicinity. What happens then when Kaiba announces a new tournament and when Karin finds a new Millenium Item no one else has ever learned about? [ Crappy summary, I know, but I just barely thought of it. ;x ]

Disclaimer
~
I do not (and more than likely never) own any of any characters from Yuugiou (Yu-Gi-Oh!) or the anime or the Millenium Items (all though..I do want some of them. XP). Of course, I do own my other character, Karin and the new Millenium Item that I thought up of. :D

Probable Future Pairings
~
Bakura x OC
Seto Kaiba x OC
Marik x OC

Warning ~
This fanfict is rated T for Teens. Contains violence and strong language...for now. In the first three chapters, at least, won't contain anything bad though. It will all be perfectly suited for all ages until later on in the later chapters.

Chapter 1 -- Arriving in Domino City

"So this is Domino City."

A teenage girl hopped out of the vehicle and gazed at her surroundings. She looked to be no older than sixteen. The girl kept her semi-long, brown hair down and rubbed her dark brown eyes and yawned. Apparently, she had been tired from her trip and needed sleep to restore her weary form. Of course, she was not the kind to sleep so early at night. She shaded her eyes from the overwhelmingly bright sunset. Evidently, this had shown she was, in fact, a night person and not a morning person because of her last action and the fact she started complaining about how the sun was just too bright for it's own good.

"Geez...I wish it would just stay dark all the time. I hate the morning light," she complained with a sigh.

She paid her driver and thanked him for the ride, even though she didn't find it pleasant at all. Mainly because most of the journey was sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic, which she found entirely annoying. Fortunately, she only had a few posessions which fit nicely into two suitcases that happen to be light enough for her to carry on her own. She only had to walk a little ways before finding the apartment she decided to stay at.

She went into the office where she would tell the keeper that she was supposed to stay here and he would lend her the key to her room. The room wasn't as bad as she would have first thought. It wasn't entirely spacious, but it was big enough for her and possibly a few other people that she could invite over. Of course she doesn't know anyone here in this new city yet, but it would only be a matter of time. Lucky for her, today was Saturday, which meant she could unpack tonight and rest up and explore the city tomorrow. She would also remind herself to call the Domino High School and have them enroll her as well.

There was a sudden knock on her door and she went over to answer it and to no surprise it was the apartment manager.

"Here is all the information you need of when to pay me. I also found a spare key for this room, so if you ever lose your key, you can always use the spare as a backup. Just make sure to hide it somewhere safe because I only have three of them." The girl just simply nodded, not knowing what she could possibly say except that he is talking a bit too fast, but of course, she kept that piece of her opinion to herself.

He just returned her nod with unease and began to leave, but turned back around when he remembered something.

"By the way, I wasn't able to catch your name. Do you mind telling me?"

The girl looked slightly taken aback as if she was not expecting this, but quickly shadowed her slight shock and answered.

"My name's Karin..You can just call me Karin."

She happen to force a smile.

"Well it's nice to meet you Karin. You can call me Miharu."

He smiled sincerely and bowed slightly. He pulled out his hand for her to shake it and she gladly did and nodded with a more friendly smile this time.

"It's nice to meet you as well, Mr. Miharu. Thank you for allowing me to stay here."

"It's no problem. Well, I'll let you get back to unpacking. If you need me, I'll be in my office."

He left again and when she was sure that he was gone, she closed the door.

"I'm glad that he didn't require me to fill out a form. I cannot let anyone know my full name, for now anyway."

Karin inwardly sighed and began unpacking.

Chapter 2 -- Old School Memories

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Karin lazily reached out a hand and began knocking everything off that was previously on the desk. Desperately wanting the alarm to shut up without having to use her own energy to get out of bed and shutting it up herself, she threw one of her extra pillows at it. Too bad that the button was on the side of the clock and not on the front or the top where it would be most convenient.

"Why...won't...it...shut...up...?"

She took at least ten seconds to say each word and took exaggerated deep breaths as she did so. She finally had enough and decided that silenting the annoying noise that was supposed to wake her up was more important than lying in bed all day. Well, lying in bed until around 2 PM, at least.

"Why do humans have to wake up in the morning? Why not at night instead?"

She desperately tried to find an answer to such a question as she prepared her breakfast, but as she thought, her mind was blank. Perhaps it was because we humans needed sunlight to work and stay active? Nah. If that were the case, there are always lots of lights out at night. Not even counting the moonlight, when it shows on its given days.

Her previous thoughts immediately erased from her head as she realized that she needed to have Domino High School enroll her so she can begin school tomorrow. Not like she wanted to go to school or anything. Rather, she had to actually. Who wants to go to school, anyway? No child in the right mind would really want to go to school, unless it was really that fun for them and they had nothing to do at home. Karin thought school was fun on varied days. Mainly because she had nothing to else to do at home. Rather than that, she really didn't have a home. Before, she had been living at the current Elemantary and Jr. High School she had been in. The schools were actually combined, but separated into three parts. One side of the school would always be cheery and filled with laughter from all the little children, whom attended the Elemantary school. One other part of the school would be where the children lived in. There wasn't that much room and it was very crowded, but you would get used to it after a while. Most of the children there had parents that traveled and couldn't bring their kids along, so they made them live at said school. The last part of the school was evidently filled with Jr. High students. Most of them usually got along with the younger children, but not all.

Oh how these memories took a great deal of a toll to Karin. She was glad that she attended that school, but was also glad to have finally graduated from there. Hopefully starting tomorrow, she would be in a better school. Well, not entirely better. But at least she wouldn't have to live there and she may meet friends that she can hang out with. She had high determination of seeking out someone which she had decided to come here for.

The alarm on her clock rang again, causing Karin to jump slightly and leave her old memories. She walked over to the alarm and stared annoyingly at it. She was ready to throw it out the window basically. Of course she can't. One. It might hit someone and she might get sued which isn't the one thing she needs at the moment. And two. She'll need it to wake her up tomorrow so she won't be late. No matter how agitating it can be, she would have to just deal with it. She realized that she had pressed the snooze button and cursed herself for being an idiot and turned it off, finally.

As she was about to do earlier, Karin called the school and they told her to come by so she can fill out the paperwork. She found it really bothersome, but there was no way to avoid it. She got ready and left the apartment to search for her new school.

Chapter 3 -- Visiting the Museum

"Gosh I hate that stupid sun with a passion."

She attempted to stare at it, as if to glare, but it was too bright to look at directly.

"Eh...that wasn't...a good idea."

Karin was indeed right. She started seeing the little dots you often see when you rub your eyes too much or stare at something bright too long. She poorly attempted to wipe them away, as if they were really there, but no luck. Without anything else to do, she waited for a while until she got her perfect eyesight back.

"Stupid sun.." She mumbled a few incoherent words before going about and returning to the task at hand.

She walked proudly as she soon realized that next Sunday would be the last Sunday of October which meant that Daylight Savings Time would be over. This would cause the days to be shorter and the sun to be gone sooner than before. She triumphantly smirked and turned a corner to be surprised by a presence of a big building.

"The Domino City Museum." She read it aloud and pondered on whether she should check it out or not.

Of course little things caught her attention. Her mind was easily filled with curiousity and quickly decided to check the place out. As she entered the doors, it seemed the place was empty. No one was around. She examined the inside a bit longer before taking her first step inside.

"I wonder if the museum is even open." She looked around curiously, but decided to move on ahead even though nobody seemed to be around.

You would think there would be security guards left and right, being a museum and all, but none were to be found. Perhaps they were taking a lunch break or something? Maybe the museum was closed and they forgot to lock it? Nah. They shouldn't have anyway. It's probably the first reasoning. They must be out to lunch. That's what Karin thought anyway and with that thought in mind, she continued to explore.

The first real thing to catch her eye was an exhibit on some strange, Egyptian item. It looked to be a pyramid-shaped puzzle, judging by all the zigzags that were probably separate pieces, with a strange carving of an eye. As she got a closer look, she read the information that was provided beneath the sealed item.

"So this one is a replica. I wonder if they found the real one before.." She said her thoughts aloud and quickly snapped out of it as she thought she sensed someone watching her.

After quickly scanning the area, she turned her attention to the puzzle once more. Karin became rather interested, but didn't think much of it as she remembered she had to get to the school. She hurried out of the room she was currently in, but as she was, another item had caught her eye. At first she started to slow down a bit, but sped up as she knew the school wouldn't be open forever being as it was a Sunday. She could always return to the museum later to see what that other thing was.

In the shadows, a person was watching her every move. A smirk curved on his lips as she ran out.

"It looks like we have a new visitor here in Domino. Perhaps we should get to know her better, ne?"

With an evil chuckle, he walks back into the shadows and leaves without a trace.

Chapter 4 -- Last Name - Revealed

"Whoa. This school is much larger than my last one."

Karin easily realized this a couple blocks away before she had actually confronted the school.

"Well, the gate is open so I got here in time."

She walked passed the gate and turned her attention to the sign that read, "Main Office" and walked in. At first it seemed quiet, but as she approached the desk, she could hear the teacher and staff talk in the background.

"Do they actually come here on Sundays too? Do they anything better to do?"

She was kind of curious, but she thought it was rather stupid for a teachers to actually hang out here when they can do something a bit more interesting. Well, she would take advantage of her privelages if she was a teacher and do so anyway.

"Can I help you?"

The secretary behind the desk asked in a monotone.

"Well, yes."

Karin simply answered.

"I'm a newcomer here at Domino City and I would like to be enrolled in this school. I called eariler and I was told that I had to come here to register."

The woman didn't answer nor change her expression. She turned to the left side of her desk and opened a drawer to reveal a large pile of papers. She rummaged through the drawer until she found the forms she was looking for and handed them to Karin without a word.

"I guess I'll have to fill these out, huh?"

The woman didn't say nor do anything once again except turn her attention back at the computer.

"Well, I guess that's a yes."

She twitched in annoyance at the secretary's coldness.

"Geez...at least you can say something."

She made her way to a chair and grabbed a pen off the desk, not bothering to ask, knowing the woman would probably say nothing. Karin let out an exaggerated sigh as she began to fill out the forms with an annoyance look on her face.

It didn't take too long for her to fill out the first few papers, but there was one spot she left blank.

"Maybe I'll get away with it if I don't put in my last name."

She hoped that would happen, but she knew that it'll probably not. As she finished the last few forms, she got up and straightened the papers and approached the desk once more. She watched as the secretary skimmed through the forms with no real interest and she felt the strong urge of just punching her in the face for her arrogance. Well, she wasn't exactly being arrogant, but she was damn well close of acting like it.

She was snapped back into reality as the secretary asked the one question she was hoping that she wouldn't bring up.

"You forgot to fill in your last name. What is it? I'll fill it in for you."

"Um..."

Karin felt uneasy and that sinking feeling you get when you feel sick to your stomach quickly grew in hers. She wasn't sure what to say. Perhaps she should make an excuse like she doesn't know her last name..? No. That's not a possibility. She could perhaps make up a name, but she needed more time to think. However, the secretary grew rather impatient.

"What is your last name?"

An irritation was apparent in her tone.

Karin panicked. She couldn't think of anything. Everything escaped from her mind. Only one name stood in the back of her mind.

"My last name is Kaiba."
