Hey I was wondering if you guys could help me out with this little question.

Which is better? Twineedle or Pin Missile?

While Twineedle does more damage and may poison, Pin Missile can strike more times. And Pin Missile is learned later on in skillsets and that usually indicates more powerful moves.

Thanks if you have any answer.

They are both pretty bad moves... but I would say Twineedle is better because it does the attack twice at 25 power while pin missle varies from 2-5 times and attacks at 14 power. Also Twineedle is far more accurate than Pin missle.

Apparently this is referring to a Beedrill. So more like Sludge Bomb.

Haha how'd we get to PP? Anyway, yeah I am referring to Beedrill, and Sludge bomb isn't bud type. And I was wondering which bug type move was better ... but yes thank you all anyway.

I love you.

Why waste time with Twineedle when you can still do loads of damage with a STABed Sludge Bomb?

Twineedle by all technicality is better.

Both Twineedle And Pin Missile suck badly. If you have to choose one thro, I would say Twineddle.

If my memory serves me (but not sure, at least in the older versions), Twineedle has a small chance of poisoning. Anyone care to enlighten me?/Say how much of a noob I am?

Twinneedle can indeed poison enemy.
And Pin Missile just sucks, stick with Twinneedle until you get Diamond/Pearl, give it some new bug move.

Sigh. As Synch has been trying to say, USE SLUDGE BOMB. It has base 90 AP, but ends up 135 AP when you factor in STAB since Beedrill is a Bug/POISON-type.

Crapneedle and Crap Missile should NEVER be used. Use Brick Break instead.

Well you guys helped and thank you.

No you don't need a Bug move against a Psychic type. In RBY, all the Psychics are frail against physical attacks, so Sludge Bomb will do more damage than a weak and ineffective STAB Bug move.

PLEASE don't use Beedrill. Use Pinsir, Scyther, or Parasect.

Oops. Forgot SB wasn't around back then. In RBY, Parasect was a GREAT Psychic counter: put them to sleep, beef up SAtk, and then sweep.

Ah damn I suppose this is in the wrong section too then. Oh well This morning I did replace my Beedrill with a Pinsir. Any Suggestions on RBY movesets for Pinsir?

Sorry I didn't mention it was RBY.

All you really have for Pinsir in RBY is Swords Dance, Submission, Body Slam. I guess hyper beam works.

The only helpful post I saw from was your first one, noting that both moves are crap. Though you could've suggested something else if you wanted to be truly helpful.

Yeah I think Synch Answered that pretty well. Even the post asking how you didn't help was pointless, it's obvious your just trying to increase your post count dude.

Back on topic, I think Hyperbeam is bad. And I know now to stay away from OHKO moves like Gullitine. You're right though there isn't much to chose fromin this game... How about toxic?

Well in RBY, If Hyper Beam KOd, you didnt have to waste a turn waiting to recharge. Pair that with Swords Dance, and You're pretty much guaranteed a KO if Golem/Rhydon isn't switching in.

aka: Hyper Beam is ok to use in RBY. You can try Toxic if you'd like, but I wouldnt recommend it.

Oh alright I didn't realize that. Pinsirs Atk is pretty high in itself so I think your plan is a good one. Thanks.
