It only started snowing repetatively a few weeks ago, and it's rare not to see much snow from where I live, especially in the beginning of December. Global warming has taken effect?
Yeah, it's freaky ._.; It only started snowing for us last week .__.; Seriously..

Well, it never snows here basically because of the face that I live in FL. D;

What is the world coming to?
I used to live there long ago, then I moved somewhere else. I kind of regret it, actually, I'd rather have Florida's common weather. Except it's not natural here if there isn't much snow in where I currently am.

It's been snowing non-stop for the past few days by me ;; However, that's not totally uncommon Illinois because we always get bad weather in the winter. (We didn't get snow in December though).

I heard from my friend's mom that we're supposed to get the hottest summer we've had ina while.

There was a huge snow storm on Friday where I live. :x I had to go to this dance-thingy, and the roads were absolutely horrible. Too bad it didn't happen earlier on in the day. It could have been a Snow Day. D;

I've never been afraid of horses, because I've always been able to control them. But after I was bucked off in September by my horse, I've been kind of debating on whether or not I want to ride again. XD; I was knocked unconscious, and I sprained my wrist {and it's still sprained}, so I've been nervous since then. However, after exams I'm going to start training again.
I know this was a ways back, but ow. ;_; That sounds pretty awful. I didn't realize you guys had horses or anything like that. Wow. o.o; Very cool. This was a very interesting conversation for me. XD;

Anyways, what's the difference between Huntseat and Western riding?

I can't wait for the summer, to be honest. I consider that to be the plus side of global warming. Every cloud has a silver lining and all that.

Someone got murdered on the street next to mine earlier, he was stabbed to death. We had a load of police thans surround the area and seal it off. Then a bunch of policemen started combing the road, looking for clues. We were watching from the side window in our house.

We weren't sure what to think at first. When they sealed off the area my aunt thought that maybe it was some kind of terror alert, like they were making bombs in the house or something. And as chilling as that thought was, it was strangely kind of exciting.

Then my cousin, who's friend lives on the street was sealed off, told us that she had a phone call from her friend. Her friend said the police had knocked on her door, asking if she saw what happened. When she said no, the policeman told her what had happened.

That makes two people who have been murdered on that road in the last three years.

...that's pretty creepy, Dawson. o_o; Have you heard of BTK? (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Rader" alt="">Wiki</a>) He was a horrible, notorious strangler who lived right here in Wichita. Apparently most of his work was done before I was born, but it's still kind of scary.

In weather-related news, the nevermelting-snow here continues to delay my driving lessons and make walking from class to class a bitterly cold thing indeed. ;;

Edit: Haha, look at that. I used HTML on accident. Leaving it, to demonstrate my n00bness

I just read up on that guy, what a sicko. I can't believe he managed to spread his killing spree over 17 years, whilst even communicating to the media.

We've not had anything like that here, not in my lifetime anyway. The murders here are just thugs and gangsters out either robbing people or involved in gang wars. The was a murder two years ago about a soldier. The soldier had just arrived back home after fighting in Iraq, and was murdered by a mugger. He was killed just across the road from where I live. And our family knew him and his family too, he used to live opposite us about 8 years ago. Story.

The two youths they mention at the end, I went to school with both of them, and one of them has grandparents who live on our road.

Earlier this year, a new housing area was opened, and they named it after him as a mark of respect. It says something about society though. Soldier goes and fights a war in Iraq. Arrives safely back into his home country, and gets murdered before he can even get home.

o.o yah thats pretty scary, I guess. And I've had excitement come into me from knowing something abd is going on, except it wasn't a murder, nothing near it. It was just a storm, that scared the living crap out of my mom and dad, since we were in a small cottage up north more, and right by a lake but there was a tree line in between our cottage and the lake. And the trees were falling apart and the waves from the storm in the lake were pretty huge, I was just laughing my head off and stuffing my face with potato chips.. ^.^ lol

and BTK killer? o.o I saw commercials on TLC about him.. doesn't it stand for 'Blind Them, Tie them, Kill them"? Or something to that effect?

It is indeed very cool. :x At least, I think so.
Hunt seat refers to a style of English-type forward seat riding commonly found at American horse shows, and is a classic form of riding based on the tradition of fox hunting. Hunt seat is usually divided into show hunter classes, which judge the horse's movement and form, and equitation classes, which judge the rider's ability.
Western riding evolved from the cattle-working and warfare traditions brought to the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors, and both equipment and riding style evolved to meet the working needs of the cowboy in the American West. American cowboys needed to work long hours in the saddle over rough terrain, sometimes needing to rope cattle with a lariat (or lasso). Because of the necessity to control the horse with one hand and use the lariat with the other, western horses were trained to neck rein, that is, to change direction with light pressure of a rein against the horse's neck. Horses were also trained to exercise a certain degree of independence in using their natural instincts to follow the movements of a cow, thus a riding style developed that emphasized a deep, secure seat, and training methods encouraged a horse to be responsive on very light rein contact.

Me too! :x I had tons of little toys and books. However, I had always lived in the city, so there weren't very many places to take lessons or anything of the sort.

I'm not too keen on riding a horse, but it'll be great to one day.

Yeshers, it's a great experience. ^_^

I have 2 horses in which I ride usually. I usually just stick with one for competing though, and one for training and going for hacks around the property. I have never done barrel racing before, or...potato pickup. XD; I'm more interested in foxhunting and things like that.
As for popularity, I guess I could agree with that, sort of.

What are you talking about? We lived in the city until you were two, I don't think many people have a horse when they are two years old.

I've never really liked riding horses. I've been on them tons of times and I just never got used to them. XD One of my...grandparents, I think, used to own a pretty big horse farm. I always hated going there. XD
My family's owned three horses over the years. My sister used to ride competitively and still does for fun. I've ridden personally a number of times, but I was never really into it. I just enjoyed having them as pets. XD

I never even liked that. Whenever I would visit my grandparents, I'd end up having to clean them and wash them and it was never any fun. They were way too much work for me. At first the riding was pretty fun, but eventually it just got boring. I really don't see what's all that great about them these days.

Indeed, it is a hefty amount of work. My sister and mom took care of most of the workload though, because they were more into the whole thing. So yeah...I got the benefits without the drawbacks for the most part.
