Hello! I just reached Lilycove and I wanted to see if I was doing okay with my team. Thanks...=) I also need advice at which Pokemon should hold which items, and where to place my EVs.

Cat, Blaziken @ nothing at the moment...
Level 36
Nature: Calm nature.
- Double Kick
- Cut
- Fire Blast
- Blaze Kick

He just evolved in to Blaziken a few minutes ago. =O

Serpent, Gyarados @ Sea Incense
Level 32
Nature: Bold nature.
- Facade
- Leer
- Surf
- Dragon Rage

I really want to replace Leer, but he hasnt learned anything new yet.

Canary, Altaria @ nothing.
Level 38
Nature: Jolly nature.
- Aerial Ace
- Fly
- Dragonbeath
- Sing

Do I need Sing?

Jaguar, Kadabra @ Twistedspoon
Level 32
Nature: Bashful nature.
- Psybeam
- Metronome
- Confusion
- Future Sight

His ability is Synchronize, which can come in pretty handy. Also, I just love the attack Metronome. It can come in really useful at points ^_^.

Bunny, Gardevoir @ nothing.
Level 32
Nature: Adamant nature T_T
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

This is a terrible moveset, don't you think? I wasted two spaces with Rest and Sleep Talk. I thought I would have a cool combo if I used Rest to heal myself and then used Sleep Talk to keep on attacking as I slept, but they took up valuable space for attacks..also, her ability is Trace, sadly u_u I can never find a Ralts with Synchronize!

Puppet, Shuppet @ Exp Share, for training reasons
Level 28
Nature: Also Adamant nature. But in this case, it's pretty good.
- Screech
- Night Shade
- Curse
- Spite

I just recently caught Puppet, so I decided to train it up.

Thanks all! Tell me what you think n_n

You only need one fire move. Make sure to trade it for Swords Dance of maybe even Thunderpunch later on. Also make sure to get rid of cut when you start making a serious moveset. Not the best nature, though :(

Serpent, Gyarados @ Sea Incense
Level 32
Nature: Bold nature.
- Facade
- Leer
- Surf
- Dragon Rage

I really want to replace Leer, but he hasnt learned anything new yet.

Gyarados isn't very useful without Dragon Dance. Consider breeding a new one.

Canary, Altaria @ nothing.
Level 38
Nature: Jolly nature.
- Aerial Ace
- Fly
- Dragonbeath
- Sing

Do I need Sing?

[b]I personally like it. Dragon Claw is a decent option over D.breath, though I can't say I like either of them. Go with Flamethrower over Fly. Ice Beam and Rest (Natural Cure abuse) also work as well.

Jaguar, Kadabra @ Twistedspoon
Level 32
Nature: Bashful nature.
- Psybeam
- Metronome
- Confusion
- Future Sight

His ability is Synchronize, which can come in pretty handy. Also, I just love the attack Metronome. It can come in really useful at points ^_^.

Meanwhile, you could be using Calm Mind to beef up your Special Attack instead of using a random Hyper Beam from Metronome. As soon as you level it up enough, go with Calm Mind and Psychic. You can choose from Thunderpunch, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, or Recover for the other two moves

Bunny, Gardevoir @ nothing.
Level 32
Nature: Adamant nature T_T
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

This is a terrible moveset, don't you think? I wasted two spaces with Rest and Sleep Talk. Don't get it wrong; Trace is still an awesome trait. Though Sleep Talk would work with Calm Mind over Thunderbolt (maybe), it's best to just go with Calm Mind, Psychic, Thunderbolt, and Hypnosis.

Puppet, Shuppet @ Exp Share, for training reasons
Level 28
Nature: Also Adamant nature. But in this case, it's pretty good.
- Screech
- Night Shade
- Curse
- Spite

I just recently caught Puppet, so I decided to train it up.

Shadow Ball and Will-o-Wisp are your friends. Great nature btw. Dunno what to say for an in-game moveset after that. Maybe Destiny Bond or Thunderbolt or something =/

Thanks all! Tell me what you think n_n
It's not too much worth it to rate teams while they are currently in training, as you may not have full access to proper resources at the moment. But Hopefully that gives you a little insight. Your team is highly fragile to physical attacks. So as often as a I stress it, I highly recommend some kind of rock or steel pokemon. Metagross is always a winner.

Thanks so much! I'm making these changes right now =) But, I have some questions:
-Gyarados learns Dragon Dance at level 50, do I still need to breed a new one? I'm not really savvy on breeding because I find it kinda annoying to have to raise the Pokemon up from level 5 =P But I still can.
-Where is the Thunderpunch Move Tutor?
-Blaziken can't learn Dragon Dance, I think. What would be another okay move to replace Cut with?
-Altaria can't learn Dragon Claw. Should I replace Dragon Claw with Perish Song or something? I'm going to replace Fly with Ice Beam, but where would I find the TM?
-In order for Kadabra to learn Calm Mind, I have to evolve him in to Alakazam. But, no one here plays Pokemon anymore, so there is no one to trade with T_T Should I keep trying to find someone or should I modify his moveset again? Also where is the Ice Punch - Fire Punch tutor? I want Blaziken to learn Thunder Punch, and I don't like Recover because as soon as I use it my enemies take advantage of that turn and just hit me again, and I recover again, and they hit me again, and...yeah.
-I can go to the Move Tutor in Fallarbor to get Bunny to learn Calm Mind again, so thats great. But with Hypnosis, should I also learn Dream Eater? For a combo move?
-For Shuppet, I can get Shadow Ball at level 44, so I don't want to waste a TM. Will O Wisp is fine too, at level 32. But with Destiny Bond, I can only get a Shuppet to learn that through breeding a new one. Should I go for the level 5 Shuppet or should I use another move in place of where Destiny Bond would be? And, Thunder Bolt, can I get that at the Lilycove Mart or do I have to win it at the Game Corner? I already used the one from Wattson on Gardevoir =( I could breed Gardevoir with Shuppet and get a Shuppet with Thunderbolt, actually. I am actually breeding Gardevoir with Shuppet at the moment, but that was so I could preserve Rest inside that Shuppet. But if it turns out the Shuppet knows Thunderbolt, I don't really need Rest. And he can also get Destiny Bond. Whoo, I solved my own problem o_o

Edit: Nooo! While Gardevoir was in the Day Care, it learned Imprison which randomly replaced Thunderbolt! Now I wasted a TM T_____T I'm so mad now! Now Shuppet won't even know Thunderbolt!! What should I make Bunny's moveset now?

Thanks lots, again! You're a big help ^_^

You cannot breed Dragon Dance on Magikarp. You should breed a new one because Bold Nature is -Atk, which is the only thing Gyarados is good at.

-Where is the Thunderpunch Move Tutor?

Battle Frontier. 48 Battle Points.

-Blaziken can't learn Dragon Dance, I think. What would be another okay move to replace Cut with?

Umby suggested SWORDS Dance, which is taught by a Move Tutor, in the same place as Thunderpunch (Battle Frontier, 48 BP).

-Altaria can't learn Dragon Claw. Should I replace Dragon Claw with Perish Song or something? I'm going to replace Fly with Ice Beam, but where would I find the TM?

Are you saying you already used the Dragon Claw TM? If so, go Flamethrower/Ice Beam/Rest/Sing. The Ice Beam TM can be purchased at the Game Corner for 4000 coins ($80 Gs) or you can get a freebie in the Abandoned Ship.

-In order for Kadabra to learn Calm Mind, I have to evolve him in to Alakazam. I would get rid of him. You already have Gardevoir, which is stronger than Kadabra. All you are doing is opening yourself up to common weaknesses (especially with Shuppet too).

-I can go to the Move Tutor in Fallarbor to get Bunny to learn Calm Mind again, so thats great. But with Hypnosis, should I also learn Dream Eater? For a combo move?

NO. Combo moves suck. Hypnosis is so you can then CM up while your opponent sleeps (AI is too retarded to switch out), and then sweep with Psychic/Thunderbolt.

Banette's limited movepool makes it not a great option in-game. It has a great base Atk, but Shadow Ball is the only worthwhile physical move it can learn. You are then left with moves like Destiny Bond, Thunderbolt, Substitute, Imprison, and Toxic. Personally, I would replace this right away, but it is your team.

Thunderbolt can only be purchased at the Game Corner for 4000 coins. Buy a couple.

Again, go to the Game Corner in Mauville and buy a couple. Get a couple Ice Beam while you are at it.

A tip on breeding - NEVER leave one of your competitive Pokes there for any extended period of time. If you are breeding, don't do anything else. Drop off the happy couple. Ride from Verdanturf, past the Daycare Center, to Route 118, and back. Enjoy the sights. Once the DC Dude steps out with your egg, you save. Take the egg, hatch the egg. Check to make sure the baby has everything you wanted (i.e. IVs, nature, trait, gender, TM moves, Egg moves, bred moves, etc.). If it does, bust the couple out of the DC and put them back in the PC. A baby MALE Shuppet will be able to pass on the Rest and Thunderbolt TMs it learned from your male Gardevoir just as easy.

Don't forget that even though a Poke might learn a new move while pro-creating inside the DC, it will ONLY pass on any moves that it had before going in. That means if you suspect you let your male Poke have too much fun for too long, and that it might have gotten a move or two overwritten, you can pop in Ditto and breed a baby version of the daddy with the same moves (assuming the baby can learn them). If not, tough luck. Keep your mating sessions as short as possible.

I get to the Battle Frontier after the Elite Four, right? =O What attacks should Blaziken have until then?

I don't really want Shuppet anymore. I think I will replace him with Skarmory. Is that good?
Also, since Kadabra has limited moves until he's Alakazam, I think I will take your advice and replace him. But with who? I have a Tentacruel that could be okay, even though he just knows craptacular stuff like Wrap, Constrict, Acid and Bubblebeam T__T I also have an Absol that would be okay. Any suggestions?

Oh, sorry. I just looked over the move list for Altaria, and she can learn Dragon Claw. Where would I find the TM?

Thanks again.

Skarmory is good. He is in my team.

If you want to know some good items for attaching, I'll give you this little info:

Rest + Chesto Berry: You'll get full healed, and then you'll awake.

Overheat + White Herb: Overheat is a powerful fire move, but you'll lose an important amount of Special Attack. If attached, after attacking with Overheat, your Special Attack will be restored. Do this once per battle.

Actually, Chestoresting is not much good at all. Yes, it lets you heal to full once, but Leftovers give you 1/16 of maximum HP recovery every turn and is a lot more beneficial in the long run. The only place where Chestoresting is any good is the frontier because of the item clause, but even so it's kind of meh.

Anyway, the Dragon Claw TM can be found in Meteor Falls (it's the same room where you find Bagon). You'll need Waterfall to get there, though.

Chestorest works for in-game, at least as far as the Battle Frontier.

Yes, the BF is long after the Weak5. That is the problem with Blaziken and Sceptile in-game. Neither achieves their best moveset until the BF. Without Swords Dance and Rock Slide, you are basically left with Substitute/Reversal or Endure/Reversal, but both would really require a Salac Berry. If you are desperate enough, you can use Bulk Up and RockTomb temporarily. Meh. *cough cough* USE SWAMPERT *cough cough*

I don't really want Shuppet anymore. I think I will replace him with Skarmory. Is that good?

While Skarmory is a GREAT Poke in its own right, it might not be the best option for your team. It would then share the same weakness as your Gyarados (Electric) and Altaria (Ice). If you want the impressive Skarm, you would should get rid of one of those two (Gyarados since it isn't as effective in-game anyway), or use Weezing or Umbreon instead.

Your team seriously lacks an effective physical sweeper. Blaziken can work, but its cupcake defenses and crappy typing (Fire/Fighting is weak to four major attack types - Water, Flying, Psychic, and Ground) means it gets countered WAY too easy. Personally, I would take out Gyarados and add Swellow. You can get it very early on and it is one of the better Normal/Flying-types in the game. To replace Zam, I would go with Zangoose, which can can get early on as well. The Goose has solid Atk and Spd, and a good movepool, especially in-game:

Zangoose @ Leftovers/Choice Band
Trait: Immunity
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Quick Attack
- Return
- Shadow Ball
- Swords Dance/Brick Break

Doesn't measure up to Slaking, but it doesn't have to wait a whole turn to attack either. VERY versatile, especially in-game. Choice Band or Swords Dance makes Quick Attack dangerous and Return deadly. Shadow Ball and Brick Break make it versatile.

Oh, sorry. I just looked over the move list for Altaria, and she can learn Dragon Claw. Where would I find the TM?

Thanks again.
Good luck.

I wish I could catch Zangoose in Emerald. T_T I think it's one of the Pokemon you can't catch in Emerald..

Yeah, you can't. I wish I could, due to my growing obsession with the little Mongoose-guy, but I can't get him. *cries* Absol would be an Ok replacement... I think... *doesn't know what the heck he's talking about*
