Hello one and all once again.

Be forwarned that this is for D/P

I require some assistance. I finally recieved a Shiny Totodile, but because of it's nature, it might be anything but worthwhile.
It has a Quiet nature, and that lowers speed, most unfortunately, while raising Special Attack, which I hadn't planned on using in the first place.

I was planning on using the main Feraligatr moveset:

- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Surf, Waterfall (Physical Attack) or Aqua Tail (Physical Attack)

This could still work, but since it has bad speed to begin with, and it's not going to get outstandingly high, I was thinking about other movesets... Can Feraligatr be used as one of those "bulky waters"? I noticed it has a decent amount of HP.

Oh, and here are it's stats.... at Lv. 5. :P Like that's gonna tell you anything:

HP: 21
Attack: 12
Defense: 12
Sp. Attack: 11 (I think)
Sp. Defense: 9
Speed: 8

Well, I'm planning on trading it to Sapphire and Rare Candying it up to Lv. 50 and checking my stuffs there, so I may update this information later with better stats and maybe IVs.

That's the way the shiny Pokemon crumbles. =/

Oh, and even though I planned not to use Surf at first, I was thinking about it now. What if a Pokemon with Counter comes out once they get a grasp of my moveset, survive, and then let it fly? It's a goner. x.x But with Surf, which is classified as a Special Attack, might not be as redundant, and -might- get in more power than the other two, but I doubt it. Just a thought, because of the nature-boosted special attack. But I want to know more before I do ANYTHING though, that's why I came here.

I'm not sure if Surf is really worth using even if Quiet boosted it up. If you must insist on a sp.atk, then I'll rather go with Hydro Pump and risk the accuracy. Your main asset is still physical attacks. The sp.atk is at most for surprise factor, so most likely you don't need the reliable 15 PP or accuracy with Surf. Plus, bulky waters are still powerful in DP, and special based water attacks won't help at all...

Use Snow Slide over Rock Slide... if your speed is handicapped already (and Feral isnt' that fast to begin with), might as well use stuff that ignores speed. Also, anything that hunts down Mukkuhawk helps. Feraligatr should be enough to withstand CB Brave Bird from Mukkuhawk with full hp, should any of them be risky and try to take you down with one shot together with adamant nature.

-Snow Slide
-Swords Dance
-Aqua Tail
-Earthquake

Good prediction skills call for Focus Punch as well.

(Eh... then again I'm out of touch with the meta, so don't rely on my words)

To Be honest i wouldn't rare candy it =/
I quite like the look of what Frostweaver said, personally I'd probably have ice beam in there, but meh, I never use Feral anyways.

Ice Beam is a definite no-no for Feral.. bad sp.atk as it is, and even with quiet's boost it's only subpar. The only sp.atk worth considering on Feral is Surf or Hydro Pump, since it got STAB boost to deal decent damage.

Rare candy is only used for the process of EV training, and there's only advantages to using rare candy, and never any disadvantages.

Where you been man?? You're so polite!
I really, REALLY like the moveset you gave me. Because I never thought of Snow Slide. That's a smooth move. :)
I knew something could be salvaged, I was just overwhelmed a bit.

Also, I was just gonna do the rare candy thing til it was Lv. 50 so I wouldn't put any EVs on it. I'd then run it through an IV calculator and see what's working behind the scene, then EV train it.
Which, I'm still wondering what EVs to put where.

I'm still leaving it open for other ideas, but I really like the one you provided. ^_^

EDIT: Oh, yeah, I've also considered the Sub+Punch, but that might make it too much like my Machamp (or will be like. Haven't done it yet), and for some reason I just don't think it's work right or as good. I dunno. I live the diversity in Snow Slide. It's different. :)
