I've been noticing that more and more staff members have been using incorrect grammar. I'm not saying that I'm perfect, but shouldn't the staff set a good example for the n00bs? Some shocking but true examples...

Where's this list from though? o_O; These banned words, where are they banned from?
You cannot end a sentence with the word, "from". My gosh... >_>

But...I like awesome. T_T; I shall continue to use awesome in it's mighty awesomeness.
"In" should be "and". "It's" should be "its".

Joe is some guy you commented on the list. He was kinda harsh, but his point is that it has nothing to do with England.
"Kinda" is not a word. What is this world coming to?

Overall? I don't agree with some of the list, and I seriously doubt that this little list will get some of these words ban.
"Ban" should be "banned".

I know it's shocking, but all of the above quotes were in the same thread. They were also all by staff members. I hope this gives a wake up call to the staff. Thank you for your time.

You should know incorrect grammar hardly justifies the amount of quality in a staff member's post. And what are the chances of a 'n00b' learning how to spell from their posts alone? It's most likely because of personal laziness, not an inability. Staff members are human; they are liable to mistakes. Don't judge them on this account.

I am not judging them. I'm just saying that they could set a good example.

What example are they setting?

"Lol, everyone on the internet should use good grammar like us? ^^?"

It's a forum. If that staff member can project an air of responsibility, sufficient communication, and overall moderates quite well in regards to his/her assigned forum...then why is grammar so important as to set an 'example?' If staff members were modded according to their grammar, what's the point of designated moderators?

Most of us do carry our own individual typing styles. Now why would you try to pick on these issues? Who's setting examples here, and what evidence do you have that shows how the so-called "n00bs" are following our examples?
I have no evidence, but it doesn't hurt to have good grammar.

Well then, if you're being so serious then here is a lesson: When using 'its' or 'it's' you use the one with the apostrophe it is the possesive (Sp?) form, where the other one is actually a contraction but does NOT have an apostrophe, confusing, yes, i know, but oh well.

I may be wrong, but I'm quite sure I'm not as I had eben taught this alst year, I believe.

And also, this is on the internet, where grammar is not needed, and also, you should read the "Can you read this" thread. As its point, well, one of the lesser ones, is to show that we don't need to spell correctly to be understood.

Does this really matter? As long as the person understand what the other is saying, people should be fine with that.
Agreed. What's there to be scared or sad about if the communication is still perfectly fine? :\ :P

You must be bored, Trikip. :P

So you can't say "Where are you from?" Wow, good job. Since you like to judge grammar so much, I might as well throw this out there. You shouldn't end sentences with ellipsis points, it's improper.

"In" should be "and". "It's" should be "its".

No, in is fine. If you've never seen it used like that, then you live under a rock.

"Kinda" is not a word. What is this world coming to?

"Kinda" is slang, but completely acceptable.

"Ban" should be "banned".

Yeah, no justification here, but everyone makes mistakes.

I know it's shocking, but all of the above quotes were in the same thread. They were also all by staff members. I hope this gives a wake up call to the staff. Thank you for your time.

I think you're saying that there should be an apostrophe. There shouldn't in this case.

The fact that "n00b," as stated by the original poster, is not a "grammatically acceptable word," amuses me.

We always skip out a few conjunctions here and there along with a few other lazy practices.

Hey, if I must be technical, I can *certainly* sue people for saying "goodbye" to me in the names of disrespecting my religious beliefs, if I'm an atheist or something. Then again, we all know that the meaning is understood, and we just sweep the technical junkie under the mat until it's the time of a graded essay paper.

EDIT: Deleted original cause lag made double posts ><;

Oh, please. I told you I didn't have perfect grammar.
