Woah. 2 out of 3 are my exact Battle Frontier Team. (EV's a little different)

I use Curselax w/'Thick Fat' in my last slot to eat up any Ice Beams for Salamence and Thunderbolts for Starmie. I use Shell Bell on Salamence and Focus Band on Starmie. Watch out for any (Normal) Tankish types as those are always the ones that get me.

Snorlax / Miltank / Kanghastan - <I HATE THEM> :rambo:

I like it, though I personally would use Metagross over Regice to add in a Normal/Flying resistance.

If I were to use Metagross, it would be in place of Salamence, seeing how the removal of Regice would leave me with a big weakness to Special attackers.

I can't add Snorlax to this team, seeing how I only have 1 GBA so I can't trade it from my Fire Red. :(

I would like to remodel this team, but it's very hard so far.... I want to have a Physical Wall that has fairly good Atk or Sp Atk so it can do some damage by itself, as well as a Special Wall with the same requirements. The last slot I'd like to go to a mixed sweeper. I know that the second role goes to Regice hands down, but the rest leaves me without a clue.

You mean Thunder? Or Thunder Wave?

I'd rather keep Thunderbolt.

meh, up to you.
i guess id go with the better of the two evils,
thunderbolt- less chance of parlyz, less atk
thunder- slightly more chance of parlyz, more atk..
*shrugs*

Either way, wanna hear my team?

It also loses 20 or 30 accuracy (I forget which). I'm not aiming to Paralyze people, I'm aiming to hit everything in sigh for atleast 100% damage, which this Starmie does against everything except Shedinja and Lanturn, both of which get edkcuf by Salamence.

ahhhh.. i see. well then thunderbolt would be your best move for that...
most people put a status effecting move on the poke with loads of spd for a good team, but i guess it can go either way.

Toxic is on Regice. Toxic = My Favorite Move, so I just threw it on. I might use Thunder Wave > Recover on Starmie, or Thunder Wave > Toxic on Regice. I dunno.

Less than you think. The only Special attack you'd really fear is Thunderbolt, where if you did your EVs right on Metagross or Salamence, it'd probably be a 2-3HKO, where you could 1-2HKO in return.

Look at the special type resistances:

Starmie - Water/Psychic/Fire/Ice
Metagross - Psychic/Grass/Dragon/Ice
Salamence - Grass/Fire/Water

Dark and Electric are the only neutral special attacks against your party, of which Dark won't be doing too much, unless we're talking Houndoom, where Salamence and Starmie shouldn't have problems outrunning it and taking it out.

I must admit i have never been a fan of the REGI's.

Take that into consideration before taking my advice. I really like where Syncronize is going with this...

First off he's one of the best people to listen to around here. His words have more weight than most. Next you could CB Metagross leaving Leftovers for Salamence who will LOVE you for it especially when he's Dragon Dancing.

You'll definitely need Brick Break on there because i'm telling you the (Normal) Cursers are a problem for the Salamence / Starmie combo.

You must leave Recover on Starmie. The End. I'm not even giving a reason.

You should breed yourself a Metagross and see how well it works. You could always go back to Regice if you don't like it. I'd run him...

<Choice Band> - *Meteor Mash / *Brick Break / *Shadow Ball / *Explosion or Earthquake

A few things change from competitive play to the battle frontier, lotus. The battles won't last as long, and too much switching won't be involved, so it's best to equip a DDMence with Lum Berry so it doesn't fall to Paralysis or Burn at unfortunate times.

Also, Choice Band is redundant, as, once again, not a lot of switching involved. There are only 3 pokemon on your team, and in certain Frontier Challenges, the opportunity/liesure of switching isn't available, and you wouldn't want to be stuck using a CBed Earthquake when a Flying type comes in, only to fall into a situation that may cost you the match. I'm sure there are better options for items on Metagross, if our friend here does decide to use it.

Also, Metagross doesn't need Brick Break at at any given time.

Did someone just call me friend? This is a great day in history! *Screenie*

I see your point, but couldn't CBGross be put into the same position, meaning that I should use Agiligross? :/

Generally any CBer is put into that same position. Agiligross should be fine, but you can use Sludge Bomb, Thunderpunch, or Psychic in the Agility slot.

I generally keep things into their best stat, but I think that Thunderpunch would work for CBGross in that case....

Fair enough on not Choice Banding Metagross. But when you're going through the Frontier and you continually lose to (Normal) Cursers remember i warned you.

The only thing that might work is Explosion on Metagross. But you better do it ASAP or their Curse will save them.

Curselax and CurseMiltank aren't that common in the BF, iirc. I've only seen one from Anabel that was using Quick Claw.

I know they're not that common - but they have a funny way of turning up and ruining your string in the Tower when you're trying to build up the BP's for moves.

I breed alot InGame and that makes me have to fight in the Battle Tower where consecutive wins is important. I could go <30> fights without seeing one but that'll only get me a handful of points. Whenever they do though it always ends up in a Curse War and sometimes they'll get lucky. I guess you're right in the Frontier in general. Whenever i hear Frontier i just automatically go to The Battle Tower because i've cleared it a long time ago and the only thing i do now is the Battle Tower.

The reason nobody ever uses Brick Break on Metagross is because he uses Earthquake and (Ground) / (Fight) don't mesh that well. Plus Meteor Mash is a 150 Att because of STAB so a SE Brick Break would only equal 150 anyway. So it becomes somewhat redundant. I guess the real problem is Metagross should have access to Focus Punch as almost everything else in the game does.

Sorry my friend, but a SE Brick Break is 112.5 AP, not 150. For the record, Metagross using a SE Brick Break does ONE POINT more damage than a STAB Meteor Mash against a Normal-type, regardless if they Curse or not.

You just calculated STAB, shane.

............................................ Wow. A serious senior moment there. Brick Break would HAVE to be 150 in order for a STAB Meteor Mash to do the same damage. Not only did I calculate it incorrectly, but I didn't catch it when calculating damage. LOL My apologies.
