NetBattle is the more time consuming, but effective way to seeing the exact IVs.

That won't work out too well because a Poke holding Exp Share will also get the EV points earned in that battle even though it didn't participate in it.
In order to calculate IVs properly, it requires Rare Candies. I would also HIGHLY suggest you use Metalkid's Pokemon Program (
www.metalkid.info) instead of serebii. It is a program you download to your PC that you can use offline. It has a superior IV calculator where you can enter the stats of your Poke, feed it a RC, and then enter the stats for the next level. The program will then calculate what the IVs are for you. I rarely have to give a Poke 20 RCs in order for the program to give me accurate IVs. I basically enter stats from Lv5 to Lv10, and then maybe one more in there to narrow the range on a particular stat. Far superior than anything I have used anywhere else.
