Nyu, Cradily basically needs Recover to work, so unless you've had the good taste to breed that move in from Corsola already you should do so now. As for the set:

Cradily @ Leftovers
Trait: Suction Cups
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
Earthquake/Rock Slide
Toxic/Rock Slide
Mirror Coat/Barrier
Recover

Pretty much a dead standard Cradily. Recover is an obvious choice since it improves your staying power a lot, and Toxic is a nice move to go with since it thrives on drawn out battles. Mirror Coat or Barrier is a matter of preference. Mirror Coat can let you get the jump on anyone who thinks they can special sweep through Cradily (particularly ones with ice attacks) while Barrier gives it an edge against physical attackers that could otherwise mow it down. Earthquake or Rock Slide is a matter of preference. I like Earthquake since it's super effective on stuff that Toxic can't touch, but Rock Slide is STAB and so does more damage to your average opponent. *Shrug* Anyway, having both Earthquake and Rock Slide only really works if you've got another pokémon passing curses onto Cradily. :3

I like accentuating the defense and special defense of cradily. I give hima leftovers instead of using recover.

[email protected]
Earthquake
Amnesia
Toxic
Confuseray

He fills a wall-annoyer slot in a team.

Welcome to reality: annoyers fail. They rely on luck and thus fail at providing consistent results. That's bad strategy, hence why you don't see any of the good players using them. Really, just lay off luck based moves (That's Attract, Confuse Ray, Double Team, accuracy modifiers, and OHKO moves), trust me: it will do your gameplay a world of good. xP

Second, Amnesia is a downright weird choice for Cradily. Its only special weakness is Ice, whereas on the front of physical attacks it's got Bug, Fighting and Steel to worry about. The first thing any intelligent opponent does when they see Cradily is bringing in a physical sweeper (out of fear for Mirror Coat), so Barrier > Amnesia.

Third, 1/16 of your maximum HP per turn is not a lot of healing, and if your opponent has Knock Off (or uses Hail, as the daft ingame AI is so fond of doing) that healing will be gone altogether; not cool. Recover is certainly a far superior choice to the suckiness of Confuse Ray and Cradily really needs both of those recovery sources if it wants to stand up against the big beaters out there.

Sorry if this sounds overly harsh, but Cradily is a subject I get rather passionate about. It's my favourite pokémon so I hate it when it gets degraded to a pathetic annoyer. .__.

Whoa were have you been all my life. :cheeky:

I spent so much time last year trying to fashion Cradily into a Special Wall for my T/S/S team. No matter how many horses or men i couldn't put Seymour together again.

I was so disappointed with the changes they made to this poke in 4th Gen. This guys is half (Grass) and with his stats ~ is screaming please put *Leech Seed on me but does GF listen? No. Of course not.

This thing would be a menace on a T/S/S team with both *Toxic + *Leech Seed because he would force switches into now *Stealth Rocks + *Spikes. Why does every fragile (Grass) poke out there get *Leech Seed but this one with great defensive stats gets the shaft?

Criminal. :disappoin

Suction Cups means he's a good Baton Pass reciever, with immunity to being switched out by Roar/Whirlwind. Of course, there's Haze, but that's less common.

Umm...right here? xD Anyway, I'm not too bothered by the lack of Leech Seed. After all, Cradily also has access to Recover to take care of its HP recovery needs, not to mention that it's different from the other Grass types in that it isn't really related to plants in any way (Technically a barnacle) and hence I'd say that the no Leech Seed thing actually has some logical backing to it since barnacles don't have seeds. Not to say that I'd mind seeing Leech Seed in the learnset, but I don't see it as a make or break thing. Cradily got a fair enough dealing on the moves, imo (Stealth Rock and Energy Ball to name a few). It's just too bad that it now has to account for all its weaks on both defenses on account of the new type system. *Sigh* Now if Cradily had gotten Curse into its learnset...*Drool* Oh well, can't have it all, I guess. ;D

Uhh...wtf? A female is precisely what you want and need to breed egg moves onto Lileep (As the baby's species is inherited from the mother); just get a male Corsola (again, the Corsola needs to be the male in this equation for the egg move(s) to be passed on). They're kind of rare because of the gender ratio but by no means impossible to get. Also, Cradily can't sweep on its own, the movepool and statline just don't support it. The closest you can do is;

Cradily @ Leftovers
Trait: Suction Cups
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) or Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) if you go with Giga Drain
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Body Slam
Recover (Or Giga Drain, if you must -.-)

However, you'll want - no, strike that, need - a pokémon with Curse and Baton Pass from which to pass the boosts in defense and attack to Cradily. Keep in mind, however, that Cradily is still a spongy type first and foremost - I mean it's a barnacle for pity's sake! >_< - so any attempts at all-out sweeping will fail miserably. Like I said; it works with curse support, but otherwise? No dice. :O

Correction: annoyers are always bad. Simple probability will tell you that even though you have decent odds of succeeding with parafusing the strategy will fail you in the long run as it will become increasingly improbable for it to suceed time after time (as is the case with all combined probabilities). Also, anything fast with Substitute just screws them over completely as annoying requires you to commit half or more of your moveset solely for that one purpose, taking up space that could be used for a consistently functional moveset. It's not just coincidence that none of the top netbattlers use annoyers.

Annoyers aren't perfect, but are kinda cool when it works.
But yes, I agree with you. You win the arguement.

I had a Cradily once, and I loved it - and the moves. I used:

Toxic - helps weaken the foe
Earthquake - A great powerful move to sweep the foe out the door
Giga Drain - Gets back lots of health, comes in handy against water pokemon, and another powerful attack
And I kinda forgot the last move XD

But I do remember that Cradily won nearly every battle in the batle frontier.
