Drugs make people do weird things. <=(
Yep, usually when the whole family is dead, he killed them both and then killed himself. So... strangling his wife and choking/sufficating his kid huh? Aaah.. that sad.

Could he of Killed his wife and locked his son in his room and killed his mom and thought maybe people would've heard something and called the police, and no one did so he killed his son to see if anything would've happened again and waited a day to see what would happen, then killed himself since there was no one that knew what happened?
Maybe he wanted to go to prison or something for taking Steriods and wanted to do time for it?

Sounds Dumb but you never know.

That's not a good way to do it. he could have just went to the police station and turned himself in for that.
Now that I see that it has been proven that he killed his family I can belive it.
I think it's sad that he would do such a thing.
But after hearing the story in more detail I think that if he was having trouble at home that he would have a motive. It might not have been the steroids that caused the murder after all. If he was angry at the mother and child then the steroids could have fueled an already burning anger into a massive flame.
Or he could have done it because he was really angry. The steroids may not have caused it. We may never know.

What I know from people I've talked to is that there is alot of stress involved in the 'business' (as it's called so often now). Pro wrestlers are some of the hardest working people in the Entertainment business. You travel nearly 360 days a year and almost never get a day off (you're usually either training or wrestling, non-stop). On top of that, you've got family calling on a regular basis asking when you'll be home next. If you're lucky, you can bring your family with you, but that isn't always possible (case in point, when they're overseas in other countries).

As for Chris, he also had the added issue with his son having a disease that could have made him autistic later on.

Plus, they think that 'Roid Rage' also contributed to it. I don't know if this is true or not, but based on what I know, I'm not ruling it out. Steroids are one of the two drugs that aren't screened on a regular basis (the other being pot, hence RVD's '420' shirts and pants).

But it doesn't even matter that much. It's still a tragedy that shouldn't have happened.
If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you will never get it done.

The most messed up part about all of this is the fact his wife was bound by her hands and feet. I could see if he got angry and just snapped and choked (not saying its right) but the fact she was tied up just makes it all the more worse. I liked it better when I thought Benoit was the victim. I'm not even sure what to think on this matter at the moment.

Chris Nowinski, former wrestler, now turned concussion expert and writer, thinks he may have had something called post-concussion syndrome.

Nowinski played an integral role in the discovery of the 4th case of CTE in a former NFL football player, former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Justin Strzelczyk, who was killed in a fiery automobile crash in 2004 at age 36 after a 37 mile police chase at speeds up to 100 miles per hour on the wrong side of the highway. Dr. Julian Bailes, the chairman of the department of neurosurgery at West Virginia University and the Steelers’ team neurosurgeon during Strzelczyk’s career, insisted to Nowinski over a phone conversation that he thought Strezelcyzk’s death, which was precipitated by strange behavior that some had labeled as “bipolar”, was worth looking into due to its similarities to the Andre Waters case. Nowinski contacted Dr. Bennet Omalu, who discovered the brain was still available, and Nowinski called Mary Strzelczyk, Justin’s mother, to ask for permission to Dr. Omalu to examine it for CTE. Omalu’s positive diagnosis was confirmed by two other neuropathologists.[6][7]

Nowinski alerted police and the coroner of Chris Benoit, asking them to do a brain exam on Benoit's brain to see if concussions had any part in his rage and/or depression at the time of the double-homicide of his family and his suicide.[8]
Makes more sense than the whole "roid rage" thing going around, at least.

It's strange. If he did kill himself it's a real shame I mean having all that money and such a nice life(im assuming) and to just let it all go and to bring your family with you is not right at all :(

EDITED. Who cares how much stress he was under. It's his fault for taking steroids in the first place if that was the case. Anyone who kills anyone else should burn in hell, no exceptions.

There was a story floating around that he was prescribed the steroids to help his neck heal faster or something.

I think it was painkillers, but I'm not sure if it was steroids. When he died he had I think it was 3 time the normal amount of Testosterone in his body.

Look man, I've been a fan of WWE for years (And if you don't believe me, look at my trainer card ant title) At any rate, I've seen Benoit in action a lot. I remember him pinning Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 20. I remember him making Finly tap out for the United States Title on an edition of Smackdown. Then, Just when he gets drafted to ECW for their highest honer, he kills himself, not before whacking his wife and son of course. I mean, HIS SON WAS HANDICAPPED! Poor kid. Nancy and Chris also had a rocky relatonship. also, it was steroids. Man, you think you know a guy...

All three of the dead had Xanax in their systems, the son, the most, to believe he was sedated before being killed.

He did .not. have steroids in his blood at the time of death, but it seems that he had been using steroids at some time in the recent past beforehand.

What was found in his blood was testosterone, and epitestosterone, the breakdown product of testosterone. The toxicology report said he had more than likely been taking a medicine for some sort of sexual dysfunction.

I'm sticking by the last post I had in this thread, the theory that he had post-concussion syndrome. It makes more sense than anything else out now.

It's a brain injury; it can do serious damage to the way your mind works, even though a concussion seems like nothing.

Chris made Trips tap out at Wrestlemania.

Yep...such a shame to lose one of the best technical wrestlers ever. It would've been fun to have watched him win the ECW Championship at Vengeance...then they stick the title to John Morrison (or whatever Nitro changed his name to).

RIP Chris

He can still get in, it's just that there's no more tributes because of what he did.

He deserves to be inducted.

Doubt it. The Hall of Fame is a celebration of the greatest performers in the WWE. Undoubtedly, the wrestler did enough during his career to warrant an induction at some point in the future, but the man ended his life as a murderer, and that will forever taint his memory.

Yeah, but being inducted into the HoF is based on talent, what he did will definately affect how much longer it takes, but I still say he should be in there, just not anytime soon.

I remember his diving headbutts from the top rope. Maybe it gave him brain damage.
Uh, yeah, sure, whatever floats your boat, funny man. >_>;

I don't see why he had to take others down with him. =/

so, i dont know if this has made it out yet, but they are now saying benoit was absolutely not acting on 'roid rage. they said he had artificial testosterone, but not at dangerous levels. they think now that maybe it was anti-depression medicine or something, because benoit was apparently on that. so maybe an overdose or a lack-of-dose

i heard a sick thing about this though, that they found benoit's son to have been drugged with an anti-depressant, like benoit had drugged his son and then strangled him.

this whole story is a shame, wwe has every right to disown benoit and any of his achievements for doing this crap. as far as i'm concerned, benoit should be dead to each and every member of the wrestling community

His achievements are very well-known, especially since he's been a wrestler for a long time, I wouldn't disown what he did.

Well, you can't really say that, because that man, despite what he did, impacted each and every person in that locker room.

yeah, he did have some great wrestling achievements, and he was a great locker room leader, but how could they possibly ever look back at him the same again? he killed his family, for no reason whatsoever. not only that, he killed his wife a whole day before killing his son. if he really wanted to die that bad, he could have just killed himself and left his family to still have a life without him.

dont get me wrong, i used to be a HUGE benoit fan, and i was devastated that RAW when tehy did the tribute show. but this whole ordeal sours that tribute and sours his whole career for me. i dont think anyone should applaud someone who murders his family in cold blood, no matter how good his achievements were beforehand.
