OK, I'm not sure if this belongs here, cuz its half pokemon and half not. So if it isn't, I'm sorry and please move it.

So Naruto and Pokemon...

Naruto holds a demon called the nine-tailed fox... right?

And Pokemon... everyone knows the pokemon Ninetales!

Could it be related? Please post your opinions

I dont think there really that alike. Insepct in the sense that they're both animation. I think something that is more like Naruto is this game none as Maplestory-Becuase they're is a Job called Assasin/Hermit that both wear the same Naruto hats and they both throow the same knive ninja stars. Pokemon isnt really like naruto becuase pokemon isnt that much real "Manga" Pokemon is more of a kid show it does not really have such intimate plot.

Kyuubi and Ninetales are both based on the same myth, not ripped from each other.
Exactly, it´s based on a mythical japanese creature the kitsune.

I´ve seen 4 or 5 animes/games with this kind of creature.
Besides Pokémon and Naruto, I´ve seen this creature in Digimon:

With Kyuubimon.

Ragnarok:
There´s a monster in Ragnarok called nine-tail.

And another one that I don´t remember right now...:P

Besides that, there are other pokémon based on other mythical creatures, like Ho-oh and Arcanine.
Ho-oh is based on the Phoenix (wich is used in a lot of games and animes, like Final Fantasy, Digimon, Pokémon, Harry Potter, Monster Rancher, Medabots, etc, to list some XD)

And Arcanine is based in a mythical chinese creature: Shisa, a cross between a dog and a lion:

And although its a canine pokémon, Arcanine is also based on a real life feline: the Liger (a cross between a lion and a tiger):

Arcanine comes from the words canine and arcanos (I named my Arcanine like that ;))

I hate when I give this kind of explanation, but here you go, and I hope you find it interesting. ^^"

Why not?
I like them both.

omfg... it's thread like this that show just how badly anime gets ruined when it gets translated into English... since when are Naruto or PKMN related at all? The fact that they both have a nine-tailed fox shows nothing of a resemblance at all. Ninetales isn't even widely regarded as being a super popular character anyway... Since coming to North America, Naruto has been ruined, and turned into a little kids show.

think i dont know that? i watch very few translated animes... i had to learn japanese, i have some japanese relatives somehow. and yes, the english dubs ARE terrible.
Well, if you think that the english dubs are terrible, imagine here in Brazil, where the translators seems not to be able to translate from the original japanese version, so they translate
almost every anime from your "terrible english dubs".
And belive me...
It becomes even worse! XD

Why not?
I like them both.

Well sweetie, the only thing I see they have in common is that they have a bunch of filler episodes, and the 8th gym leader of the Sinnoh region. And this. XD

They don't have much in common, since well...one show is based off a game, while the other is based off a manga.

Also, like explained already, Ninetails and Kyuubi are both based off the Kitsune.
