I personally use one, but mainly because I don't have a Wireless Router yet. The Wi-Fi Adapter isn't bad or anything, though the range can be good sometimes, bad others.

The overheating problem I heard about isn't something I've seen yet, and there were a few times where I forgot to unplug it when I was done with it. Still, you probably shouldn't leave it plugged in 24/7.

Umm...oh, firewalls can get in the way sometimes, and you may have to turn it off when you really want to get on...still haven't found a way around that yet.

And lastly, you will need Windows XP, apparently. That's what I hear, anyway, but I have XP, so I can't say. XD Basically, the USB Adapter is worth it if you really want to make your Diamond/Pearl worth it, and you don't have access to a regular Wi-Fi hotspot or a Wireless Router. Also great if you have, or will get, a Wii.

The USB Nintendo Wifi Connector is good to get if you do not have a Wireless Router. If you do have a wireless router just sign up at the nintendowifi website and follow its instructions.
There is a place in the support section that allows you to test your computer with Nintendos Software before buying the product (USB) this way you know if it works. It will not work for Windows Vista they are corently working on it, so until that time comes all Windows Vistas that do not have a Wireless Router can not connect. In other words the USB connector for Wifi from Nintendo wont operate in Vista until they find a solution.

If only I had a Wireless Router sadly I do not and I have Vista so I can not Wifi yet lol =(

Actually more specifically, the usb adapter only works on Windows XP SP2 but not SP1. So you need the more updated Windows XP.

Does wifi cost anything or is it free? plus i live in england does it work here
It is a free service that you can acess as long as you have a Computer, Electricity, Internet Connection prefer DSL or better, Nintendo DS/Wii and a Compatible Wifi Game, Wireless Router ;or Router with Wifi Connector. The only thing that costs money is either buying a wireless router or buying the USB Nintendo DS Wifi Connector that only works with XP Service Pack 2 not Vista =(. I think it should work anywhere, You can probably connect from the U.K not sure tho.

Well if you going to get a wireless router, then yeah you have to pay for wifi. Well if you already have an ethernet connection, then just get the usb adapter and it will take that connection and convert it to wifi.

Ok how can i tell if i have sp1 or sp2?
Um if you have Windows XP I think its Start < Programs < Accessories < System Info then you click the detail and you look at the Operating System Info.

Um in Windows Vista go to Start Circle < All Programs < Accessories < Windows Center < View Computer Details < Show More Details.

Yea im dum for putting Vista Info but I had to do it on Vista to try to find a way to do it on XP lol but its always there for additional reference even though your probably useing XP.

In case you do not have SP2 you can always download it from Microsoft's website just go to Downloads or type it in the search box and it should be there.

I have sp2 ^_^ so it will work yes?
Yes it will work definitely for you, i have one as well. Just be sure you install the software first before you plug in the usb. Trust me it will cause you problems, if installation ask you to plug it in, then do so, otherwise dont.

I use one and it works perfectly.

I have a Router but it isn't compatible with my DS. T__T

And right now my Wi-Fi has been murdered since the main comp. I use (this one) isn't compatible with the connecter and the one that is (my brother's) is on an island where he's doing research.

What really sucks about that is I made a bunch of good trades and then realized I couldn't follow through with any of them!!! ;____;

I feel terrible ~

It should work um Check nintendowifi.com < Tech Support < Americas < Problems playing with others over the Internet < then from there is some more troubleshooting info.

It took long cause I was trying to do it um I tried Tech Support < U.K Ireland and Europe but it was so hard to find the support center so I did it in Americas. Um just try it out and if that works then most likely the USB Connector will work if not they have advanced troubleshooting in the place I listed in the first paragraph.

do i download the software or use a disk
Darn I wish I knew cant use the Connector With Windows Vista so your so far ahead of me. So since I did not buy one Ima have to wait till they get one Vista compatiable so I can hook it up. Your so ahead of me so good luck with the WiFi. Im sure it says it at the NintendoWifi Website and the instructions might come with The USB so you have nothing to lose in my opinon. One thing I do know about computers is once you get it working its all that counts. I hate troubleshooting too.

Try this link and see if it helps ya http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/connect.jsp then you go to the 2nd option creating a wireless ascess point using Nintendos Wifi connector.

And also this site http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/connect.jsp

If there is a problem locating any near your area try the Euorpian Nintendo site since they only sell it in Canada and United States from the regular site when purchaseing USB. I wish I knew the link but I could not find the link in the Europian site however I think the simularities are the same hopefully yours will work.
