Some people use the word "killing" as simply a slang term for words like "fainting" and "KO'ing"
Other people probably use that word in Pokemon battles, you're not the only one.

It's easier to say "You killed it!" as opposed to "you made it faint!" so you're not the only one. :|

I do.Such as when I accidently made Suicune faint,I would say I "accidently killed Suicune" to someone at school who has an intrest in pokemon.Or when I want to catch a pokemon and I make it faint,I would say i "killed it".Hard habits I can't break.

It's just like saying "You're killing me" when your watching you favorite stand-up comic instead of saying "You are making me laugh" so its like saying "I Killed Entei" instead of saying "I made Entei faint" so it is just a habit and it's qiuck and simple to say!

"Killing" sounds better than "fainting" when saying it... fainting just doesn't have that vibe or effect as killing does. xD

When I was younger I used to say "killed," but now I say KO'ed. I don't know why I decided to start saying KO, but to me it's a faster and easier method of saying what happened to the Pokémon. I think I might have started saying KO'ed when I ran around saying that I killed that Pokemon or it killed my Pokemon and my parents thought the game was really violent. >.<

I use "kill" and "dead." I'm somewhat desensitized to it after playing as many games as I have. XD

I personally don't think Killing applies to pokemon the same way it does Humans. I mean once they are in a POkeball they become immortal, so long as they stay IN the ball. Many pokemon have lived for eons longer than any human would have via capture, Lucario, Rayquaza, Mew, Deoxys, Celebi.. this list goes on.

The other thing about killing is it goes against the honor code instilled by Tajiri-san in the comic book. Which in the pokemon could indeed die, if they battled too far. But then even in the anime, even after fainting it doesnt mean dead. Pikachu has fainted many times and minutes afterwards, its back atop Ash's shoulder.

Thats my reasoning, also it would then suck for kids, hey I got my charizard to lvl 50!... -fights Articuno and (dies) No more charizard- Then the kid doesnt buy ANY more pokemon games ever. lol

Usually when I defeat a Pokemon, I shout out "OHKO!!" Usually because almost every attack I launch is an OHKO, XD.
