Yeah. Two people met over World of Warcraft and they're married. *dies inside*

I mean I guess but it's kinda weird.
Then there's hope for everyone! XD

I think it's possible, because I've done it. It went on for like... 2 months then it ended. Ah well, both the WoW thing, and what I went through means it's possible.

Sure it's possible. It won't work out for everyone, but it's definitely possible. I've seen online relationships fall apart, and others continue happily. Family friends of ours met and fell in love over the internet and they're happily married now.

So I think it's doable, but it's not the kind of thing that'll work for everyone because everyone's different. I know most people would probably prefer to always have physical contact with a significant other and couldn't do this sort of long distance relationship, while others would be better suited for it. :\

It is possible. I am in one at the minute. So i don't see why it can't work. Also my friends has been having a long distance relationship for a year and a half now . They have met a few times.

Some people need the physical side as well. But other people don't.

it's possible! but you also gotta take into your judgement the possibility that people present themselves differently online which is something many people do. what if you fall for somebody who only turns out to be the figment of a persons imagination, and the real them is heaps different? the internet allows this to happen so its a risk you gotta accept if you fall for someone online. truthfully believing in somebody on the internet is like believing in god, santa claus or the tooth fairy: it's all about faith.

I agree with it, but eventually you guys got to meet becuase it can't go on forever without you guys meeting its kind of pointless. Would I ever do it? No, I have my reasons I'd rather be having a relationship with someone that I can visit everyday and actually feel her lips on mine not Her typing her effection.[

I think it's possible... very hard, since most of the people who're into, or involved in, this stuff are teens who couldn't define "love" if they had a dictionary in front of them. But in the real life sense of it all, I think it's possible.

There's an old saying, and I forget who coined it, but I think it holds water:

"True love is never apart; through distance, but never at heart."

Dude, I'll be honest, I see it as kinda skethy whenever I get someone asking me to "online-flirt" with them, but internet relationships can work out, I guess...

Meh, there is one girl I like online at the moment, but not really so much that way, and I mean, I doubt we will ever meet in RL anyways =/
I've left PC.

Why? I'm tired of all the people here who think they're cooler than they actually are, I'm tired of the way certain people get away with things, just because they're friends with the staff here, I'm tired of all the raging teen-angst contained within these forums I'm tired of the way no one knows how to take a joke anymore, I'm tired of how I've been treated by the people I've thought to be my "friends" here, and I'm tired of all the unwanted drama PC has caused in my life over the past several months.

Plus, Pokemon just sucks anyways.

It is possible, but stupid also. You never know whether that person is after love, money, or sex.

Mmm, I think it's possible, but... it's not something that would work out as easily as a relationship that started face-to-face. Because, you'd have to re-adjust to the way they act offline. Text can only convey so much of your expression you know?

And people can be total social disasters IRL because they spend all their time online, so when you meet for the first time, it's something that ruins both the online and real life relationship.

I think it's possible, but not for extremely uptight people who expect too much from their partner's.

Well..

Two people I know managed to pull it off.

For me, I don't know. I've liked a few people online, but I've never, ever tried anything. I'd rather have a real life relationship, you know? The person over the internet could easily avoid you, you can't hug them, you can't go on dates or anything. Know what I mean?

I do belive it's possible. If there is a spark between 2 people online then they can most likely overcome their IRL differences If they are mature enough to resolve them maturely. Long distance relationships are possible for most people. It's just a little different in the way that you get to know the person before you see them.

And that's different from real life... how? XD

I think it's possible. I've always held a firm belief that over the internet, where you can't really see the person you talk to, you get to know their personality. So there really is no visual bias online, like would inevitably occur in real life. You become attracted to the person's personality, way with words, their mind as opposed to their looks. And being attracted to someone's mind is what makes a relationship different from "hooking up", and the exact reason why most, if not all, teen relationships don't make it past high school. There's no commitment anymore. These days, all relationships within the younger crowd (and I mean up until around 30 years old!) are based off the fallacious idea of "hot or not". The hot guys go out with the hot girls, and rarely is that a true "relationship"... it's merely a commercial, or a billboard sign, for how cool they really think they are, and I stress think.
