How many ridiculous things are there in Pokemon?
Here's some of note:
When a pokemon drops into a fissure(Fissure), drilled by a horn(Horn drill) Barraged with Ice(Sheer cold) they merely "Faint" instead of dying.O_O
Also, when you beat the E4 and battle them again, they act as if they haven't seen you before.o_O
Lastly, Arceus didn't create all pokemon, once you think of it.
Porygon's entry:First manmade pokemon.

Well, Pokémon in general is for kids. It would be bad to promote the concept of death for a children's fandom. But yeah. After all they go through, you'd think they get enough of it ...

1) Meh... the faint/killing statement has been argued quite a bit. But like said above ^^ It is a kids thing....
2) It's just the weird gameplay... xD I reckon they should actually change. Makes things more interesting IMO...
3) You can argue that Arceus made the humans to make Porygon. That way, it's still Arceus, except through human hands.

The killing thing can be said for pretty much [i]any[/u] RPG. :| At least in Pokémon there are no actual deaths, so it doesn't contradict itself all over the place in that regard.

But as for the Arceus thing...yeah. With more and more legendaries each in charge of different things, they're gonna start overlapping and negating old descriptions. XD;

That's true too, but Mewtwo was a clone of something that actually exists; it was made to improve upon Mew, which was the strongest known Pokémon at the time.

Porygon was made from scratch by man, though, as far as I can remember.

who created Arceus and Mew????????????????? You could say evolution from the Dinasour ages but we had Aerodactyls, Ramparados's etc. back then so the creators (Mew and Arceus) must be older than that.

Everything's stacking up... and then we'll have a big problem when players start questioning "why's that?" and "Wait, I though so and so was the one who did it." etc...

Well... they could just have been the first to be there to start off with. You could take it from like a scientific view and say, something forced it into being and it just happened to have godly powers...

Then explain the Pokemon tower/other Pokemon Graveyards in different regions, or Ghost Pokemon period. Or that Marowak in R/B/Y/FR/LG

Many childrens' series do set aside a part for dealing with death. Most any children's television show will often have an episode wherein either a relative or a pet dies. They don't glorify it, they just show kids the value of life and help them to cope if they do have to deal with death at a younger age; they show them it's natural. That's all I figured the Pokémon Tower and graveyards were for. :\ I wish they'd expand on what happens when Pokémon die, though. @[email protected];

First, there was nothing, then THERE WAS MEW AND ARCEUS! Well, maybe all the nothing was like hmmmm, Im a bunch of nothing, mayube if I try realy hard, Ill be something! So accidently he made Areceus and Mew. Mew represents the fun side of life, and Arceus the serious. They're twin sides of the same coin. Oh one more weird thing, why if you leave your game for like, 8 years, and then go back to it, your guy is still standing there? In truth, he would, get bored, run away. marry Dawn, have babies, become an Elite Four, and live a normal life.

Another flaw:
Mewtwo is 150 when Mew is 151 and Mewtwo is a genetic alteration of a copy of Mew. Mew should have came first.
Numbering didn't have anything to do with which came first though...

But wouldn't it make sense for the original to come before the clone?

And every generation has a Pokemon that looks like Pikachu
1st gen: Pikachu (Duh)
2nd gen: Pichu (Also duh because its a Pikachu Pre-Evo)
3rd gen: Plusle and Minun
4th gen: Pachirisu
Yes, true, but then you can say Arceus. Wouldn't the creator come before all the rest instead?

Heh... that's just a repeated idea thingy.

Flaw: Mewtwo is counted as a clone of Mew when a clone is a EXACT genetic duplication, and I'm no expert, But these don't look exactly the same

Another flaw:
Mewtwo is 150 when Mew is 151 and Mewtwo is a genetic alteration of a copy of Mew. Mew should have came first.
But the thing is that Mewtwo is an improved version of Mew and was thus altered. In the manga, for example, Blaine's DNA was also used to create Mewtwo for a reason I can't remember.

It was because they didn't have enough of the stuff to go around, what with Mew darting off and all that. It was a choice of either watering down the clone or leaving it unstable and dying. =O

Anyways, sure there's a lot of really illogical stuff in pokémon, but this topic has been gone over so many times that I've lost count. Most games out there prioritize a fun gaming experience over complete and utter realism, and we're talking about a world where you can carry around a grown blue whale in your pocket and twelve-year olds are running around saving the world, for pity's sake. Huge gaps in logic come with the package; just learn to live with it. -.-

Mewtwo was an augmented homunculus who was cloned using Mew's DNA as a base. Mew isn't the strongest Pokemon, just one of the most versatile.

They keep creating Pikachu-like Pokemon because Pikachu is the emblem of the series. He, his evolutions, his likenesses, and all the other weak Pokemon are there for the cute factor to prompt plush-buying girls into buying the game just so they can point at a bunch of pixels and squeal at how cute it is. Riiiight before I OHKO every last one of them. :D

Again, the cute factor. It's sickening. Ah well, it's an easy way to tell who's a serious player or not if they're using any of the cute-but-weak Pokemon. I've fought a few of those, XD.

Okay, I don't see what's wrong with "teh cuteness" being thrown in. Thinking about it, you could also argue that Gamefreak threw in bulkier Pokemon like Groudon, Houndoom, and Salamence so that baseball-cap wearing guys would buy it. XD

By the way, have you ever seriously tried beating the game with nothing but the cuties? It is seriously almost impossible for obvious reasons, and definitely should merit some respect if you can accomplish it. And so, ACC exposes yet another of the "implied difficulty control selections" in Pokemon.

Major logic break number seven-hundred and sixty-two: Pokemon can get hit with beams of energy, strangled, hit with rocks, burned, frozen, and slashed up six ways from Tuesday with no ill effects, and yet humans are somehow able to kill a Marowak while it runs away. *pokes R/B/Y*

In addition....

Dialga and Palkia created spacetime, but Arceus created the universe.

And the Elite four do remember you in FR/LG. If you re-challenge them after their initial defeat, Lance and Gary both say something along the lines of "Oh hey, random_name, you came back! Great!" before they deliver their little speech about how cool they are and the battle begins. No explanation as to how Gary is once again champion, but still interesting.

But yeah, while laughing at logic breaks is funny, don't take it too seriously. If Pokemon were logical, it wouldn't exist in the first place. This is why we have "Real Life".

Technically you could defeat the in-game storyline with the cute Pokemon, if you level them up enough, XDD. Once their levels are over the enemies' enough, it won't matter how crappy the Pokemon are, they're probably going to win anyways. That's why I like competition. Everything's even, and it's a simple task of proving to my enemies how worthlessly poor their Pokemon are or have been trained.
