I mean I see a lot of people telling their Movesets, and their EV trained stats etc.

But can strategy beat it?

I mean a pokemon with Rest is always annoying, but I am interested, how do you incorporate other moves to win battles? And combos too (Like Kyogre with Thunder, or Groudon with Solar Beam)?

you can some time predict the other person move say if you put a pokemon on the field just to see what the other person will throw out i do this then change make sure you have a pokemon that can take hits

there are many strategies so it's impossible to write them down in a single post. just go into a battle field and do your best, and maybe you'll learn a few things.

and rest shouldn't scare you all that much. you can make the most out of the 2 turns they're resting and really cause damage. a good way to punish a resting pokemon is to stat up, say with dragon dance, then take apart their entire team.
