    Hi everyone! How about a little competition? I've made a list of 10 anime related topics that take a little more thought than your standard "What was your first anime?". Every Saturday, I'm going to post a topic for you all to reply to and give your thoughts on. I even added in a way you can earn points for replying to other posts! The user who earns the most points will win a special Emblem(which I'm still working on, you can't rush art!), but absolutely everyone who participates will be awarded one as well.

    Sound fun? I hope so! The first thread will be posted within the next couple of hours! Good luck (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑


    Rules
    • Every original reply to any 10 Weeks of Anime thread counts for 5 points.
    • Each quote that contains a constructive reply to another member is worth 1 bonus point. You still get a point even if your post doesn't contain a quote.
    • After each week ends, the previous thread will be closed. This is so I can make sure points are properly counted. Don't want to miss anything!
    • Please answer seriously! Joking around is perfectly okay, as long as the majority of your reply is sincere :)
    • Respect everyone's opinion. Do not contest anyone for the sake of a fight, contest someone for the sake of discussion.
    • Anything resembling a personal attack OR encouraging a hostile environment will be removed and not counted.

    Honestly those 30 days of- that the Culture & Media/ Video Games sections started was tempting me to make one for this forum, but I'm so bad at doing those things regularly and couldn't think of a better way to make it less stressing (?) I guess xD

    But I'm really glad this is being done, I hope it turns out well!

    But hey, an event at the 1-year-splitting-back-to-the-A&M forums? What a way to spend the anniversary haha. :P

    Technically it's 11 months but whatever.

    By the way, this morning while I was daydreaming at work, I was thinking about the maximum of 10 bonus points per thread rule. I decided that its a pointless restriction, so there is no longer a limit to how many bonus points you can earn per thread.

    Please do keep in mind that bonus points are earned PER POST, not PER REPLY. You can quote as many people as you want in a single post, but you will still only earn 1 point! Originally, I wasn't too clear about that, so I've edited the rule so it makes more sense.

    This was what I wanted to ask...
    And more like, suggest to change it.
    Since we cannot multipost we won't get the same number of points if we want to reply to more people.
    In that case we either need to quote more people (1 point) or wait for other posters to post our reply to something else (more points but bigger chaos in the thread since people would reply to older posts).
    I don't say 1 point per quote but 1/4 or 1/2 would be appropriate. (As an addition to 1 point for post ofc)
    I suggest this, because the information value is the same but people who wait would have an advantage =)

    I might consider changing it in later weeks, but for now, I'm seeing a few of the posts that have multiquoted people basically contain just a little discussion and a lot of joking around. Which isn't a bad thing, I said as much in the rules, but it's definitely not something that should earn someone 8 points a post.

    But like I said, we'll see how it goes and then I'll decide from there!

    I just want a little bit of feedback :3c... I know I wasn't the greatest at getting the new threads up on time(irl likes to kick my butt right when it shouldn't), but-

    I'd love to know if you guys would want to do something like this again.
    What would you have done differently? (aside from update on time lmao)
    Longer or shorter?
    Simpler themes, or more complex?
    Other comments, concerns or opinions?

    I wasn't around to see most of it let alone participate so I wont offer any feedback. As for suggestions for future events, I think an event similar to the 30 day video game music challenge would be cool unless something like that has already been done here.

    Satoshi and I were leading it for the first 6 weeks before I fell out on the 7th xD Had know idea Ken was coming up from behind and yet he won it all haha!

    That a winner our class rep is xD

    Would love to do something like this again, but probably not one of them 30 day ones. Honestly liked how this forum did something different and more discussable than just the average 30 day posts.
     
    Emblems have been given out! If you didn't receive yours, it's probably because you got a name change and I don't know about it -w- If you got two PMs from me saying you got both emblems, I fixed the problem because stupid me was giving out the wrong one to everyone.

    Okaaaay! My biggest issue with 30 Days of ___ events is that it'll be just another event that asks things like "favorite anime" "favorite character" "favorite tsundere" "etc.". That's no fun :(
     
    I got 4th place? Weird.

    I honestly expected to get lower since I rarely post on the threads haha. xD

    I had a similar issue but in the opposite direction. There are lots of "least favorites", and generally I'm not a big fan of threads that breed negativity. I understand that people need to let loose every now and again, but often times the negativity will come out naturally through more general and varied topics.

    My biggest problem with these, though, is that you rarely get anything out of them, as people generally post out of anger and frustration (not always, of course), and when someone that actually does like a specific character comes along, more often than not an argument will start than a civil discussion. It feels good to relate to others, but these types of threads tend to have people leaving worse off than they went in.
