    [PokeCommunity.com] 11/9 - COTD - Pinsir (EX: Dragon Frontiers)

Thanks to Water Pokemon Master from www.pokebeach.com for the scan.

Not much of an improvement over Base set pinsir, IMO.
Delta search is too narrow to make it hugely useful, guillotine is fairly standardly boring.

Armour, however, does make sense on a 60 hp only basic, punishing your opponents for their card drawing trainers and over-use of situation-only cards. For example, with this out and a full hand, they are gonna drop spare basics to the bench, that could cost them prizes with a bit of gust effect.

Armor, I think, is not enough to turn this very average pinsir into anything top-tier.

One of the best Delta cards I have seen in the game. An opponent tangent's into a longer survival. Delta call would have been better if it had the option of to the bench also but it can get evolutions, so that's still a plus =D Pinsir seems to have a liking to 60 hp as it did in the Base Set. Still good either way.

    Bah, useless card!

As #2 says, DC is too narrow to make it useful, and Guillotine is too weak and boring for 3 energy.

Armor is OK, but a good counter against it is the Deoxys Dusclops' Powerful Hand - you put damage counters on it, not doing damage. And it has a 25% chance to completely de-energize it.

    4/10

Average stats, nothing too spectacular about this card. Delta type is always a bonus imo.

It's Body is good. 5 cards in a hand is often the average over the course of a game and the reduction of 30 damage is likely to keep this card alive for around 3 extra turns (in early game).

Delta Call is kinda decent, depending on your deck that is. In Raieggs, it would have potential however, there are so many better cards for getting out Pokemon, delta or otherwise.

Guillotine is a good attack for a basic, 40 damage guaranteed plus -30 from your opponent is nothing to laugh about, especially for 3 energies.

In conclusion, meh. Can be good if your lucky, but there are so many better options out there. 6.25/10

It's nothing special, a terrible weakness, subpar attack and only 60 HP. With Holon FF though, it kicks donkey in prereleases.

    3/10
    9/10 is using in prerelease

I like it for a starter to get my main Pokemon out quickly (I swarm with Queens). After that, of course I'll use Queen's power, or even a Lake, but just as a setup aid it's useful.
