    2008 NCAA Torunament Discussion​

    Who will cut down the nets on April 7th? Will it be Memphis? North Carolina? Or UCLA? Or will a "Cinderella" team reign supreme? Discuss the whole torunament here! Even discuss who will cut down the nets as the next National Champion!

    And this is coming from a texas {the state} fan. Not surprised.

    I got memphis too, they are going to own this bracket.
    Last year I got my Elite 8, Final Four, and champ right...

    So far im still in shape ith some mis predicts here and there but still in shape, looking for some more money with on this one 8D
     
    Homer picks never work. Just ask the Duke fans after the VCU game last year.

    Anyways, my bracket has taken a beating this year. Actually, my friends and I at school always laugh at the really mid major schools that have no shot (Auston Peay, Portland State, Siena, University of Maryland-Baltimore County <--My favorite, and Cal St. Fullerton) and I just loled when I saw Siena actually beat Vandy.

    In an ironic twist, I have Texas in my Final four losing to UCLA, due to process of elimination. Memphis is so good...but they can't shoot free throws and have been playing against teams like Tulsa (no offense to Tulsa). I would not be surprised if Memphis went all the way or lost to Miss. St. in the second round, they're that much in the air for me.

    I picked UCLA because I don't really think Texas can beat them, and they can beat Kansas or UNC (my other 2 final four teams). Usually I'm creative with my bracket, but this year there was just not much room to do that.

    I'm also shocked Kansas St. beat USC. K State just isn't a very good team no matter how good Beasley is. Also loled at Drake and UConn. How BOTH lost is beyond me.

    Actually I've picked the entire south bracket correctly in the first round, so if that keeps up Texas will be in the F4 :P

    But as for Texas, they aren't strong enough to win a National Championship IMO, and I actually think very highly of them.

    One upset I think is very likely is WASU over North Carolina. They've been invisible all tear and I think they'll give UNC all they can handle.

    Also on a bit of an off-topic but still relevant note, who think Bobby Knight is the best thing that has ever happened to ESPN? I love how Hubert and Jay always have the shirt and tie while bob Knight is leaning back in his chair with the ESPN sweater. lol

    Also when the e-mailer asks: "Should the NCAA move the 3-point line back to the NBA or international distance?" and Bob Knight goes "I think they should move the 3-point line back to the locker room"

    ^That had me laughing for about 3 minutes gasping for air. He's great!

    EDIT: Texas is not winning it all...and I think very highly of them...

    Anyways...one word.........

    UCLA almost didn't make it past the second round yesterday. I was hoping that they would get beat. WKU is playing them next. I can't believe they even made it to the NCAA....^^;
    Louisville all the way!!!!!! Ok, I wish, but for real, I think North Carolina has a shot in winning the entire thing.
    UCLA isn't strong enough to win. And I think Memphis will get far, but not win. I'm not for sure they will get past the final four. But I do think they will beat Texas, sorry. =[
    As for Duke. They lost and went home. HAHA. Sorry. NC fan here. XD (and a Louisville fan also, but I don't know if they will get to the elite 8. =[)

    I just don't like how duke carries themselves in certian ways, Im okay with Couch K, but still hate ducks, I mean Duke >D

    And I have memphis on mine for the win ;D only losing some of my spots in my bracket though... how's is yours holdin up?
     
    I personally haven't watched Memphis too much, so I don't know.
    I was a little sad when Kentucky got beat, but not too much. I was raised with so KY bball, but I'm more of a Louisville fan. My parents hate it XD. I want UCLA to lose personally...

    Memphis is pretty good, godly win streaks. ;D

    I was surprised with Kentucky's play this year, They did great football wise, but didnt really live up to the "K standard" in bball this year I guess.

    I myself dont know oh so much on louisville, I know they make good baseball bats though XD
     
    I was disappoint with KY too. But they got a new coach, so I guess it is buildup year.

    yeah, though with their kind of rep they should rebuild quite fine

    Anyways, I loved the thriller the other day (cant remember names) but saw it on MSN homepage with 5 seconds in overtime, and I kept refreshing XD lol

    Despite my bracket's meh win percentage, my entire Elite Eight remains intact. A bit shocked Geaorgetown lost, I figured Dukle would lose to the winner of Arizona/WVU. Also interesting the WV players were taking all kinds of shots at Duke. Hey West Virginia, when was the last time you won back to back National Championships? thought so.

    I like Duke (not my favorite team by any means), and I honestly think that the players were a little too caught up in the moment beating an overrated Duke team that doesn't play defense (woah, I thought this was college, not the NBA!) Honestly the Big East isn't that good, their top team just lost to Davidson and Pitt got taken down by Izzo's boys (which I called BTW :P) Louisville is pretty good though, I don't think they're a legit title contender.

    Last night gave my bracket a good scare, though being a UCLA hating I was hoping for that upset. Oh well. Still, remember OSU last year...BARELY surviving Xavier and they ended up getting pretty far I'd say :P I'll stand by my pick, no matter how bad it looked last night lol

    I hate blowouts like 35 points up by half time T_T But yeah Im way more for the 1 point thrillers ;D
