    [PokeCommunity.com] 5/22 - COTD - Torkoal (EX: Holon Phantoms)

    Rate & Review.

Thanks to Water Pokemon Master for the scan.

    7/10

Not a bad card. An basic Poke with an attack of 40, and maybe 50-60 if you want to spare more energy towards it. But on the downside, it's a basic Poke witha 2 Energy retreat cost. I happen to have it. In fact, I have *most* of the cards in Holon Phantoms except some of the rares (I guess, I don't know if I'm missing any) and I don't have any Ex cards. I imagine I have at LEAST 90% of the commons, if not all. And many many duplicates of some commons. I spent ALOT of money on packs >_>

Grind can be one of those game ending moves if you keep adding energy but when Torkoal is knocked out with all of those energy it would all be a waste. It's good but not amazing and can be a risk of energy. It is good that it does involve only basic energy for the attack. Combustion is not bad but a coinflip burn effect would have been nice. Resonable HP not so fair stats but it's fair overall forToorkoal.

Reminds me of Emerald's Seviper; a nice fair straight damage card. Considering the odd ness of the type choices, I'm surprised no one tried to give it a Ground/Fighting type because of the rock markings of its shell.

I know, but they have been stretching the concept a little too far lately. Particularly Deoxys.

Edit: Why couldn't Pokebeach move their logo away from its face and not obscure it? I'm sure they know people might make nice icons/sigs from their scans. Unless that's the point. Shakes head.

7/10 for one of the most no frill cards there is.
