    [PokeCommunity.com] 5/23 - COTD - Torterra (DP: Diamond & Pearl)

Here is the other Torterra just for reference.

This is definetely something I'll be aiming to get in the D/P set. High HP, a Lv. X with a Poke-Power, and decent attack. It's easy to see the brokeness here.

Body Slam is only recommended if you're lacking stuff for Leaf Storm, as that's where these two cards shine. By using only Leaf Blade and Vigorous Dash when Torterra Lv. X is your active pokemon, you can keep it alive for quite a while, and damage both your opponent's benched and active pokemon while healing your's at the same time. It'll take a pokemon with decent attack to defeat Torterra Lv. X since you can easily just abuse Leaf Storm every so often. Plus Forest Murmers allows you to bring out weaker pokemon incase Vigorous Rush just won't do enough damage.

If you're unable to bring out Torterra Lv. X, Torterra is still useful. Body Slam can help you out every so often if a fire monster is on the field, giving you a turn to heal yourself with Leaf Storm if you're damaged. If you manage to get the full D/P grass starter line, I definetely recommend it in ANY grass deck, as it'll help with those three attacks on your side, long as you're able to keep an extremely strong fire pokemon off the field.

For this card, I'll give it a 9/10. It'd be near perfect if the retreat cost was a bit lower, plus if it was resistant to electric or something like that. However it's attacks and Lv. X's Poke-Power will definetely help you destroy your opponent's pokemon.
