If there would be a new type of pokemon in the 5th generation... what kind of type you would choose?

(I think that I would choose LIGHT type)

I borrowed this description from another forum!!!!

    new types
    LIGHT
Super Effective Vs. Ghost, Electric, Dark
Not Very Effective Vs. Normal, Grass, Fire, Ice, Light
    ResistsFire, Ghost, Electric, Light
    WeaknessNormal
    Immune to Dark

    logic behind type coverage
    - light is the enemy of dark and ghosts, so that should be self explanitory
    - thunderstorms really don't tend to happen in light weather explaining why light is superefective against it (same logic as why thunder is less accurate in sunny day), and in a lightbulb they only produce more light, which explains why electricity isn't very effective.
    - light makes plants grow so not very effective vs. plants.
    - fire creates light, but strong light, like lasers, can create fire, so they are mutually innefective.
    - ice like prisms can split light up, so light isn't effective against ice.
    - light vs. light would just be another mutual resistance.
-light being weak vs. normal gives normal it's first superfefective ability, and besides, most normal objects can completely snuff out light if placed in front of it.... I think that makes some nice balance.... unfortunately, it would make a light/ghost type the next spiritomb, but I don't see that happening.

There are plenty of types to go around as there is, if there's a fifth generation introduced, there (in my opinion) is no need for new types. Steel and Dark were only created as an attempt to balance out Psychic types which dominated the old Red, Blue and Yellow games.

i don't mind the idea but why is light strong against electric that just don't make sense

supermega_boy's rationale for that was in his OP:

I wouldn't mind for there to be new types, as it would add an extra dimension to the games. "Light" and "Alien" are two types that spring to mind. Likewise, I wouldn't really mind if there wasn't any new types, because there are plenty of other areas to expand in, and, as Oni Raichu mentioned earlier, Steel and Dark were only introduced to balance out the overpowered Psychic type.

Normal pretty much is the pkmn version of light imo but I doubt they'll introduce another type...just doesn't seem like there is anything left for them to add that way...

I understand... but It would cool if there is a new pokemon type!!!!!!
