Chapter 1
The night was settling for the night, as the bright moon began to shine beneath a small village undernear. Many Eevee were asleep, waiting for the next day to come, and to get back to their work and reputation. All slept, but one. He wasn't an Eevee, he was an evolved state. An Umbreon. He always been picked on during those times, and since then, he never sleeps at all. All he does...is watches the moon, for who knows what reason. Umbreon sighed, and turned around only to see his friend, Espeon, the Pokemon that woke up in the sun.
"Why are you awake?" Espeon said, with no emotion at all.
"I can't see you staying up all night, please, can't you just stay in?" Umbreon said sadly.
"No, I can't!" Espeon yelled, "I can't anymore, I'm an outcast for those creatures."
"...You've changed, have you?" she said to him.
"Ch-changed?"
"Yea, remember?" The mood began to unsettle and it went back to when both Espeon and Umbreon were Eevees alike. Umbreon was seen running around, joyfully with Espeon, both catching different objects, pouncing at eachother, and many other things. "We were best friends ya know..."
"Well..." Espeon began to wonder, "...No, I can't. Please understand Espeon."
"I can't! I can't see my best friend mind began to wonder, wondering if he'll go away or not!" She began crying out.
"I won't go! I promise."
"Well...can you at least stay over for the night?" Umbreon asked him. Espeon knew that Umbreon was not going to stop asking until he did go inside.
"...Sure." Espeon said, as he began walking towards Umbreon.
"Thanks..." Umbreon said to him, with a sigh of relief. They both began walking inside her leaf house, but however, the sky began to brittle. The clouds began going around in spirals, the moon being covered, the wind increasing, which wasn't noticable for the other Eevees.
The night passed, and soon, a new morning came. The Eevee were playing around, doing many things. Their utopia was never disturbed once, and they were never distrubted by any third party. Espeon looked around, and saw it to be a sunny day. The sunny day is what usually Espeon does to the town, making her the most unique from the rest of the Eevee. Espeon saw Umbreon, still sleeping, like he was relaxed. Espeon began to smile, and pawed at Umbreon. Umbreon began to grumble, and then eventually woke up.
"What's wrong?" Umbreon said, still sounding sleepy.
"Hey...want to go walking with me?" Espeon said sounding innocent as she was.
"Sure, if that is what you wish." As he got up, and walked off with Espeon. They both began walking towards the store, which compiled of many things, even the rarest that no one never saw before. From the trail of the store, Espeon saw something perticular.
"Haha, you call yourself a Eevee?" A bigger Eevee began to say in a smaller Eevee's face.
"Leave me alone guys!" The younger Eevee began to say.
"Hey boss, why won't we teach this weakling a lesson?" The Flareon said to a Jolteon.
"Yea, let's get him!" The Jolteon said, as the three began circling the Eevee.
"Help!" the Eevee yelled out. Umbreon saw the child, as saw his own past, being bullied and bullied, no one to defend him. No one saw him, he was an outcast. Umbreon looked sad for a while, but began thinking: What can he do? No, he can't allow this to happen again. He began running up to the trio.
"Hey! Let him go!" Umbreon said, lighting up his red eyes.
"Well well well, if it isn't the failure." The Jolteon said. "We're conducting our own business here, so why won't you make like a Skitty and tramp off!"
"Let...the child...GO." Umbreon's rage began opening up his psychic ability, as he lifted up Jolteon from the air, and threw him against another wall.
"Boss!" Flareon and the other Eevee said. "Okay, you're gonna get it!" Flareon said as he began running toward Umbreon. Umbreon jumped up, and landed on Flareon's back, and pounced off. The other Eevee began drawing up a tackle attack, and hit Umbreon surprisingly, which made his fall to the ground. He got up, and hit the Eevee with a quick attack, and made him go towards the Jolteon. He looked at the Flareon, and began letting his eyes go red again. He lifted him up, and began hitting him towards the ground, and threw him with the rest of the gang, all of them in pain.
"Whoa..." the younger Eevee said. "Wow, you're cool!"
"Are you okay?"
"They cut my tail..."
"Oh..." Umbreon said, looking at the sash at his tail. "Come with me, I'll get that handled."
"Umbreon!" a voice said in the distance, it was Espeon. "What happened?"
"An Eevee was getting attacked, so I had to defend him." The Espeon began to smile, and Umbreon noticed. "What is it?"
"Heh, nothing. What's wrong with the Eevee?"
"He has a cut on his tail."
"Oh..." Espeon looked at the Eevee, and saw the huge sash at its tail. "Well, I got something!"
"Who are you?" The Eevee asked.
"I'm Espeon, I'm Umbreon's friend."
"Wow, are you two like...boyfriend and girlfriend?" The Eevee said, innocently. The Umbreon flinched at this, while the Espeon began looking somewhere else, both blushing.
"Well uhh..."
"Not really..."
"Yea." Both Espeon and Umbreon scrambling their words. The Eevee began getting confused at what they were saying.
"Well uhh...hey yea, your tail." Espeon began digging in the basket she had in her mouth, and got out a green cloth. He put it on him, which covered the whole cut. "There you go!" Espeon said.
"Wow, thanks mam!" She said.
"Glad to help, right Umbreon?"
"Yea, I guess." Umbreon began looking where those three people are, and they were gone.
"Hey, I got to go. Bye you two!" as the Eevee began playfully running off.
"That's a sweet kid..." Espeon said.
"Yea." Umbreon said.
"So?"
"What?"
"Aren't we going to continue going?"
"Oh yea." Umbreon said nervously.
The day passed, and Umbreon and Espeon bought many things for the sake. Umbreon really wasn't looking, though Espeon bought him alot of things. They both got back into Espeon's house.
"So, what do you want to do tomorrow?" Espeon asked him.
"I dunno, whatever pleases you." Umbreon said dully.
Espeon began giggling. "Whatever, Umbreon." Umbreon looked up at the moon again, knowing that the nightshade is his only place where he can break free. He wondered about what was outside this town, and what people had the same fate as him. Espeon looked at him, wondering what Umbreon is thinking. She never knows what's on her mind. Umbreon looked up more, and for a minute, he thought he saw a shadow.
Another day came, but this time was different, there was a large crowd from the main street. Espeon woke Umbreon up, and they both went to see what was there. They saw the leader of the Eevees, who was a shiny Glaceon. Up there, was...the Eevee they met before?
"And so, we send off this Eevee off to our quest, to find who is causing this mess around the world. Are you ready, young lad?"
"Yes, I am!" The Eevee said. Espeon saw him.
"What is he doing?" Espeon whispered to Umbreon.
"They're doing the yearly ritual. They send out one Eevee chosen with the two red scales to go find the ultimate evil. That evil, no one knows..." Umbreon said.
"Oh no! But you told me, he was kinda defenseless."
"Of course." Umbreon said.
"Is there anyone who want to accompany the Eevee in his quest?" The Glaceon said. No one decided to offer. The only one who knew him was Umbreon, and well...
"I'll go." Umbreon said.
"What?!" Espeon said.
"You heard me." He said, as he walked up to him.
"Hey, I know you!" The Eevee said. "I forgot to thank you, for yesterday!"
"It's no problem."
"Umbreon, please, think before you do this!" Espeon said.
"I've made up my mind now, I'm helping him, with whatever ounce of power I can. Besides, I want to see the world for once, and find out what is out there. I dreamt about it all day, all night, since I was born..." Espeon stood silent, sounding sad that Umbreon is about to go.
"Well...fine." Espeon said sadly.
"Well, the two, you now go off into the unknown. May this city bless you, and good luck." The audience began to cheer in the background, as the Eevee began looking at the publicity.
"Wow...I can't believe I'm going from here. I'm gonna miss my friends."
"They aren't gone, you know."
"I know...well, let's go."
"Agreed." The Umbreon said, following the Eevee out of the village and towards a path. All Espeon can do, is watch.
