Alright, gonna try something interesting here. Back in March, I made a thread asking if people ever tend to go easy on their in-game opposition. Most people said no, but many were fond of going in under-leveled and not using items, like I usually do in challenges that aren't -Lockes.
Now, all people play Pokémon differently, so i'm sure that there are better ways to ask the question I had in that thread than I did. What i'm about to do is something similar to that thread, but asking you guys questions as to how you take (others) doing so well in Pokémon. Do you want fights to be steamrolls? Or do you want battles to be really close? We're about to find out. That said, here are my questions for you. I have nine, and tried to think of a tenth but couldn't really come up with anything interesting. Try to answer them as honestly as you can. Ready? Here we go!
After you've answered these questions, take a look at the next spoiler and see your result.
I thought this would be a more fun and interesting way of asking players how they are on in-game opponents, rather than simply asking "do you go easy on them at all". This should be a different way of asking that's definitely less subtle. Discuss.

Spoiler:
You're facing an opponent that could likely destroy you with a super-effective attack, but instead they use a move that you resist (like using a Dark-type attack against a Lucario), or can't hit you (like a Normal or Fighting-type attack against a Ghost-type), or do something else unproductive. How do you react?
A. Haha, you suck!
B. As questionable as it is, I won't complain!
C. I don't know if I should be glad that happened or not.
D. *shakes head in disappointment*
Some random regular trainer (read: not an important battle) comes out and sweeps at least half your team, whether it be to lots of bullshit hax or bad match-ups. How do you react?
A. That was really painful. I'm better than this…
B. Was I just not prepared for that and really caught off-guard?
C. Man, this is turning out tough.
D. I like it when my Pokémon faint. I'm a masochist. BRING IT ON!
You're nearing time to face a Gym Leader who your team is very disadvantaged against (say, you're doing a Monotype and in front of a Gym that your team is weak to). You…
A. grind the living snot out of your team so you can win.
B. look for something else you can find that might be able to help you.
C. try to evaluate and look for some interesting strategy you can use.
D. so don't care and YOLO it!
You're playing a Nuzlocke with tough extra rules (like, say, no bag items in battle with Set mode, or a Wedlocke), and are a fair bit into the game, like 4 or 5 badges or so, and have had no deaths. How do you feel?
A. Man, i'm really thankful that nothing has died! I hope it stays this way!
B. I guess things have just gone really well?
C. Well, I guess things are gonna get harder from here…
D. This is not enough! I want something to die already!
Someone completes a Nuzlocke or Wedlocke that you've been following, but they finish with deaths in the double digits. You…
A. wish they had done way better than they did.
B. think they just really had a hard time, whether it be to inexperience, tough luck, or opposition they didn't have many answers to.
C. claim that things could have gone worse for them.
D. were rooting for those deaths(but don't want to admit it).
You take on a Champion, or any notable fight, that most people tend to view as easy, like Alder, Challenge Mode Iris, or ORAS Steven (or even Diantha or Normal Mode Iris). It comes down to the wire and you only have one or two Pokémon left, but you manage to win. You…
A. are not satisfied and wish you had less fainted Pokémon.
B. wish that your team had more answers to their strong Pokémon.
C. find that your team generally wasn't prepared but are still happy you won.
D. feel glad that you were able to have such a close fight.
This is a question that I kind of asked in that aforementioned thread I made, but i'll ask it again here: when it comes to Let's Players, YouTubers or other challengers documenting their plays, you find yourself most entertained by important battles that turn out to be…
A. won without the player losing any Pokémon.
B. successful but nearly perfect for them.
C. fights that have good amounts of success and luck on both sides.
D. very close fights that really come down to the wire.
You're battling the Champion (or Ghetsis in BW) and they're about to use their ace (Garchomp, Dragonite, Hydreigon, etc). You have a Pokémon that could easily destroy it (like a Weavile, Gyarados, or Sawk/Conkeldurr/some Fighting-type respectively), but you have some other crazy gimmick that would be capable of taking it one-on-one, even if it takes a lot of healing or such. You…
A. go right to your main answer to it!
B. try to leave your main answer out for right away, but decide you'll use it if things really don't work out.
C. go to another Pokémon you think can take it.
D. use the silliest gimmick you can just for kicks.
Are you keen on (other people) using Pokémon that tend to be unoriginal (i.e. Gyarados in basically any post-Gen III game, Gible in DPPt, Excadrill in Generation V, Lucario in B2W2/XY, the shiny Beldum in ORAS)?
A. Absolutely!
B. I'm not opposed to it, but there are better choices…
C. Maybe if it's for a challenge or something…
D. No thank you! I'm better than that!

Spoiler:
If you answered mostly A's, then you take great pride in thrashing your opponents and having completely one-sided battles, no matter how boring or annoying it might be for others to watch. And you root for others to sweep their opponents well.
If you answered mostly B's, then you want things to go well, but you don't mind if you're thrown a wrench every so often. And you'll be satisfied even if it's not perfect.
If you answered mostly C's, then you want a challenge, even if it's not ridiculous and you are alright with the opponents having some edges on you. But you won't be too upset if things don't go your way.
If you answered mostly D's, then you clearly want to make the game hard for you no matter what. And you want to see others struggle to beat their opponents too.
