You heard right folks. Apparently, you can encounter all sorts of Pokemon. It's surprisingly a lot. Open the spoiler to see what you can get after beating the game!

    Questions:
    1. Do you think it's good that you can obtain stronger past generation Pokemon post-game?
    2. Would have you preferred if you couldn't obtain past generation Pokemon at all?
    3. Would've it been better if you could find them earlier on - would've it helped your playthrough?

    Spoiler:

I think it's a bit good and bad, before these Pokemon where supposedly too rare/strong to catch, you always had to train them,

I think you can fine a full list of what can and cannot be caught on Bulbapedia. I've seen Seaking and Goldeen listed of a few Water routes. I did think this was common knowledge already XD

Once you beat the game you can find various old Gen Pokemon on normal routes. I know most of the Baby Pokemon are found in White Forest as well.

Here's the list of fully evolved post-National Dex Pokemon you can get in this way that the OP missed (not including Beedrill or Butterfree, and the ones that haven't been seen in the wild before):
    -Clefable (Giant Hole, grass)
    -Ninetales (Route 14, grass)
    -Vespiquen (Route 12, grass)
    -Cherrim (Route 12, grass)
-Mismagius (Honor Shrine, grass; White only)
-Honchkrow (Honor Shrine, grass; Black only)
-Tangrowth (Route 13, Giant Hole, grass)
-Gliscor (Routes 11 and 15, grass)
-Poliwrath (Pinwheel Forest, Training Cave, Victory Road, Giant Hole, surfing)
    -Dragonite (Dragonspiral Tower, fishing)
    -Politoed (Route 6, fishing)
    -Slowking (Honor Shrine, surfing)
    -Milotic (Route 1, fishing)
    -Huntail (Route 4, fishing)
    -Gorebyss (Route 4, fishing)

Unova Pokemon that can be seen in this way:
-Lilligant (Pinwheel Forest, Honor Shrine, Illusion Forest, grass, White)
-Whimsicott (Pinwheel Forest, Honor Shrine, Illusion Forest, Black)

https://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/wildchanges.shtml Full list here (I left out some Pokemon on that list I typed out for a reason; I was surprised when I learned when these Pokemon became wild)

    Questions:
    1. Do you think it's good that you can obtain stronger past generation Pokemon post-game?: Yes, because I won't have to spend a lot of time levelling up the Pokemon's pre-evolved forms myself.
    2. Would have you preferred if you couldn't obtain past generation Pokemon at all?: No, this is a big upgrade for me.
    3. Would've it been better if you could find them earlier on - would've it helped your playthrough?
    : Yes.

    1. Do you think it's good that you can obtain stronger past generation Pokemon post-game?:
Not really, you should have to evolve your Pokemon to get any stage 2 Pokemon and Pokemon that evolve trading, stones, happiness, etc.
    2. Would have you preferred if you couldn't obtain past generation Pokemon at all?:
No, but you should have to train your Pokemon.
    3. Would've it been better if you could find them earlier on - would've it helped your playthrough? :
    No, I like a challenge.

    1. Do you think it's good that you can obtain stronger past generation Pokemon post-game?:
Yes. Canonically, all pokemon are capable of being found in the wild. It has always irritated me that you couldn't catch stage 2 pokemon (or starters) in the wild. This is a big change, and I welcome it.
    2. Would have you preferred if you couldn't obtain past generation Pokemon at all?:
Well, yes. It doesn't make sense that Past Generation pokemon even exist in Unova. It's like finding a Zigzagoon in Kanto, or something like that. Also, it just conveniently happens to be only after the E4. I would prefer if it was all-Unova, even if it severely limits the pokemon available.
    3. Would've it been better if you could find them earlier on - would've it helped your playthrough? :
No. Don't include the pokemon at all, like I said.

    (bipolar post is bipolar)

You guys forgot Drifblim (Routes 13, 14, Giant Hole)! I was uber happy to see one in the wild, it's been on my team ever since. <3

    1. Do you think it's good that you can obtain stronger past generation Pokemon post-game?:
I don't see the harm in it.
    2. Would have you preferred if you couldn't obtain past generation Pokemon at all?:
Of course not, it gives for something more to do post-E4/story.
    3. Would've it been better if you could find them earlier on - would've it helped your playthrough? :
Nah, that would have made for a boring playthrough. Keeping things like these at the end are always better, doesn't spoil the game.

You can catch Ninetales in the wild?! My life is now complete

I forgot to answer the questions XP

    Questions:
    1. Do you think it's good that you can obtain stronger past generation Pokemon post-game? They do this in every game since Gen 2. Once you beat the game in Gen 2 you have access to Kanto that has some stronger Pokemon that can be caught. Gen 3 brought in a few of Gen 1's and the remake of Red and Green allowed you to catch Gen 2 Evolved Pokemon. Gen 4 did the same with the resort island, Catchings high level Ariados and such. So really its something that they've always done.

    2. Would have you preferred if you couldn't obtain past generation Pokemon at all? I would have preffered if they had locked all Past Gen Pokemon to the Dream World. No transfer method either. Just completely get rid of the past Generations and focus on the new ones.

    3. Would've it been better if you could find them earlier on - would've it helped your playthrough? No. It would defeat the purpose of the NO Previous Pokemon allowed deal Black and White has going for it.

    1. Do you think it's good that you can obtain stronger past generation Pokemon post-game? Yeah, it kind of makes all your hard work during the storyline pay off.
    2. Would have you preferred if you couldn't obtain past generation Pokemon at all? No, I prefer some old Gen Pokemon.
    3. Would've it been better if you could find them earlier on - would've it helped your playthrough? It would've made way too easy.

It takes away the concept of training them from their starting Evolution, i.e Beldum to Metang to Metagross, if you can just catch them at their final Evo then it's just.. well pointless IMO. although it does save time

    1. Do you think it's good that you can obtain stronger past generation Pokemon post-game?
Yes. It's a really good thing, mostly because of -when- the captures can begin. You can't catch stronger Pokemon until basically after you finish the game, but it gives you more of a benefit for finishing the game. Not a lot of people have the patience to train up Pokemon all the way to full-evolved form, so it's nice to catch a break for once.

    2. Would have you preferred if you couldn't obtain past generation Pokemon at all?
Possible, but it would be tedious to "shift" them over if you wanted a past gen Pokemon. They don't appear until the end pretty much, so that makes it alright for me.

    3. Would've it been better if you could find them earlier on - would've it helped your playthrough?
It would help yeah. Would I like it? Not one bit. It's more fun and fulfilling to train up a team of your own instead of catching fully-evolved Pokemon in the beginning. ]: That's like using Action Replay without the Action Replay.

The idea is great, and executed quite well if you ask me~.

    [PokeCommunity.com] A wild Tyranitar appeared!

A freaking Tyranitar in the wild? Awesome! :D It's actually a bit more realistic and fits in with the anime, where there are wild Tyranitar. I mean, it's not like Earth's wilderness is completely devoid of butterflies... Butterflies don't have to be under someone's ownership as a pet to be seen; caterpillars and butterflies co-exist in abundance nearly everywhere!

    However...

    Questions:
    1. Do you think it's good that you can obtain stronger past generation Pokemon post-game?

    2. Would have you preferred if you couldn't obtain past generation Pokemon at all?

    3. Would've it been better if you could find them earlier on - would've it helped your playthrough?

    1. If Unova was not meant to be isolated, then I would be all for the inclusion of powerful, fully-evolved past-generation Pokemon. But this is just ridiculous. If I can't even find a rare wild Tyranitar in its native region, why the freak should I be able to find one in a region that is so far away from Johto that the citizens don't even know what the freak a common Pikachu is? Even worse, exactly how did Tyranitar naturally get all the way from Johto to Unova? It's not exactly suited for swimming capabilities...

    2. Yes, if Game Freak is so darn desperate to make this a rebirth and restrict the PokeDex (and current official Pokemon tournaments) to Unova-only Pokemon. There should be no reason why nearly 80 Pokemon just so happen to randomly relocate to Unova, let alone fully-evolved Pokemon (then again, it's more logical that fully-evolved Pokemon would be able to fend from themselves on the long trip from Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/Sinnoh to Unova). But still, Unova acts like it's been isolated for ages, so it still does not make sense. Without the intention of Unova being isolated, I would not necessarily prefer the unavailability of all past-generation Pokemon in BW.

    3. Well I haven't played the game, so I can't say for sure. It would likely be helpful, but their presence would still probably annoy me anyway. If the availability of Pokemon were restricted to around the time I obtain the 8th Badge, I probably wouldn't even use them, as by that point I tend to rely on my already-constructed team which have high levels, and any legendary Pokemon available before end game.

    3. Would've it been better if you could find them earlier on - would've it helped your playthrough?
It would help yeah. Would I like it? Not one bit. It's more fun and fulfilling to train up a team of your own instead of catching fully-evolved Pokemon in the beginning. ]:
[S-HIGHLIGHT]That's like using Action Replay without the Action Replay.[/S-HIGHLIGHT]

    Yeeahh...and there's always this:

    Hoenn Route 109
    TRAINER TIPS

Pokémon at the same level may not always have identical stats.
Pokémon raised by trainers are said to be stronger than wild Pokémon.
...AKA the whole "unseen EV training deal", but I don't think it's going to matter much in BW (I'm not familiar with the new EXP system, so I don't know whether that will have an effect on reasonable EV training).

Anyway, it's more fulfilling and "honorable" IMO to train your Pokemon from the egg/ground up. Another reason why I dislike such availability is that it takes less effort to battle with the Pokemon, which is one of the reasons why I hate that auto-level function that kicks in during Wi-Fi battles.

Furthermore, I feel that witnessing Pokemon evolution is a very special event that many people cherish in the games, and anyone who simply starts training a Pokemon at the fully-evolved stage is missing out on such a wonderful moment. :cer_nod:

If Nintendo/Game Freak doesn't want us to use the Action Replay Rare Candy cheat, it's not helping that much if very high level Pokemon become available to us in the wild... :\

My opinion, the idea is genius. There have always been high leveled, fully evolved Pokemon in the wild in the anime, why not in the game? Like posted above, the are caterpillars and cocoons abundant in the wild, but there are always butterflies among them. Wouldn't it be cool to run into a Beautifly or Butterfree in the first forest?? o: And this is something not really done at all in previous games... You will still find unevolved Pokemon at high levels, which in my opinion is unrealistic. There is no trainer to stop them from evolving, why aren't they?? Late in the game, almost all Pokemon should be fully evolved in the wild. unless of course they evolve by stone or trading, but even that has changed! You can find Wild Steelix in all Gen 4 games! I thought that was soooo awesome.

And another feature of Black and White you may have missed, a lot of fully evolved Pokemon are available earlier in the wild. In the first forest, in the shaking grass, you can find Whimsicott(<3) and Liligant(<33), Pokemon that are normally only evolve with a stone. Nope, they are there~ And Unfezant and Leavanny are available on route 6 at level 25. Also evolved earlier then they should!

Wouldn't it be so cool to take your first step into the forest and run into a fully evolved, higher level wild Pokemon? XD I dunno about you guys, but I was like OH SHI- as a child when I first saw that level 9 Pidgeotto in Viridian forest. Kicked my Pikachu's butt. :[ But it was so surprising and fun to find~

Pokemon definitely needs more moments like that. High level fully evolved Pokemon should be there. Rare, but there.

I see a lot of you are linking to TV Tropes. I'm a troper myself... anyway, a good self-imposed challenge would be to catch the fully-evolved pseudos and Kingdra and breed them instead of transferring from HG/SS. (I notice Garchomp and Salamence aren't catchable wild, is this because of their Gen IV uber status? jk.)
