I thought this would be a fun topic to start.
Who is currently weaning off of the action replay?
    I'll explain.
I bought an AR for the sole purpose of Pokemon games, but after using it for 2 or 3 days on a certian game, I became sick of the game.
Soo the other day I unlock the Wifi Battles on my Pearl, but there was just this nagging guilt of using hacked Poke's.
So I've now restarted the game, and plan to quit using the Replay.

Anybody else had these feelings or just me?

Hi, my name is Brittany, and I used to be a Action Replayer. XD

Anyway, you're definately not the only one. I bought my first Action Replay for Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire and was pretty happy when I had a complete Pokedex and 999 of anything I could possibly want. I then proceeded to buy the next generation AR for FireRed and LeafGreen, but soon found to my dismay that the Pokemon games were no longer fun, with all the challenges missing.

So all of the games I have hacked have been restarted, and most of them completed without cheating. I made sure to restart every game that could even have a hacked item/Poke on it just in case. I don't even own my old AR anymore, a friend of my younger sister wanted them, so that is where they now reside.

It's been years since I have even touched an Action Replay. =]

<insert southern drawl here>Mah naem is Zacceh, 'nd ahm a formuh action replayuh... </southern drawl>

Yeah. I purchased an AR for use with Pokemon Ruby, just because it was my main game back in the day, I had no way to get to events (being that I was what, 8?), and things of that nature. So I cheated to get the Pokemon I couldn't get, even with collaboration between my own games (such as Entei, Suicune, Raikou, Ho-Oh, Lugia, etc.). Ruby has been completed many a time. It barely has any Pokemon left on it, as I've migrated a good many to my Pearl & Platinum versions. I'm just keeping its save data for the nostalgia. 300+ Game time, near-complete dex. All the little things :P

To this day, I dunno where the hell the thing is XD (The AR that is)

Me, I only used my brother's, and that just to get Rare Candies/Master Balls/Vitamins/PP Ups/perfect IV parents. I'd do all my breeding and training normally, but without having to spend loads of money and time leveling them up. So I never really abused it. But my DS Lite doesn't work with wifi for some reason, and I had lost interest in battling a while back, so I don't really have any need for it anymore.

    come on people,
everything said here will stay between these walls (um... will stay in this window?)
Just say what's on your mind...

    I know what you mean. ; A ;
Around a month ago I went out and bought an Action Replay. I was SO excited about it and I was like "OMG any Pokemon I WANT<33333" but then I was about to use it so I could get one from the start, but . . .
    I just couldn't. I felt too guilty. D'8
But everyone's right, it just takes the challenge away. I don't like cheats cause then it's not a game anymore. :<

    Oh, here it is.
Yup, I've got an action Replay. Haven't used it in months, though. I only ever used it to get the Wifi-only events, ie Arceus, Darkrai, Shaymin (I know they're released at movies or something, but the only way to get anything Pokemon-eventish in Ireland is via Wifi, which I don't have yet..
Even after hacking in the legendaries, I just boxed them and never really used them. I did feel a bit guilty (which is strange, its only a game, and I actually worked to catch them- I didn't just use Master Ball), it didn't feel the same as catching the in-game legendaries for some reason.

Wow this got a lot of buzz. I agree with a lot of these statements about the challenge being gone, I'm also glad that other people feel that guilt, means I'm not a huge freak :D
But thinking about it, I might use the Replay to unlock events, because I don't think those are released on Wifi for Pearl.

I've been using Cheat codes since RGBY, and haven't stopped. In Gen's I-III, I did everything I could possibly do due to the fact I didn;t know anyone IRL who also played. With Gen IV and Wi-Fi, I just stick to Money, Battle Point, and Item based Codes, as they don't ruin multiplayer interactions.

Once in a while I'll pick it up and mess around with it, hack something for the fun of it. Then I don't save or play the game for a couple months lol. AR's are curses d:

I have that feeling ALL THE TIME. I use an Action Reply occasionaly to get past certain parts in my games, and I feel AWFUL. I feel that, even though I only used it to get past one part, I cheated. After feeling this, I have a mind to restart the whole game and go without using the AR. Then I end up using it again and restarting, etc...

    So yeah. I'm a cheater. Kinda. Wait-No I'm not! Er-yes I am-Wait-no-GAHH!!!
