Here's what I did for my Infernape.
Grass Knot - Counters Rock, Water, Ground; usually quite effective given the weights of the higher evolutions
Flamethrower - Counters Grass, Ice, Bug, Steel
Brick Break - Counters Normal, Ice, Rock, Dark, Steel
Shadow Claw - Counters Psychic and Ghost
It seems like an odd moveset but the PP level is reasonable and the moves don't really get in the way of each other. Plus, since only one move is effective against each type (for the most part), I can have it hold a Metronome in gym battles and not stumble upon myself choosing moves. Also, in more balanced battles, it can hold Shell Bell or Leftovers, which can really add up to saving my keister. Crazy? Not when I have something to wallop over 3/4 of the types. Though I regret not having much against Fire, Flying, and Dragon; they're pains to deal with. :\
