    Well no offense anng, but most people will want you to ev train, anybody can normal train a poke, not trying to be a negative nancy tho =]]

    There is no such thing as IV training.

    EV Training is the act of training your Pokemon so they end up with a certain amount of Effort Points in certain stats, the more Effort Points there are in a certain stat the more adept that Poke will be in that stat.

    IVs are random numbers assigned to a Pokemon, the higher the value the higher the stat.
     
    Okay... so IV are just random and there's no real science, and EV is just having a Pokemon either wail on, or get wailed on just to further the stat?


    I didn't know the way a battle took place actually influenced the stat increases... ok, thanks a lot man.

    If your breeding theres some science behind IVs as one parent contributes to 3 stats and the other parent contributes to the other.

    And for EVs, for instance if I want my Froslass to have better Sp.Atk I massacre a bunch of Gastlies or other Pokemon that give Sp.Atk EV points. But of course for EVs there are limits to prevent having totally maxed out stats. For more info on EVs please click this: https://www.serebii.net/games/evs.shtml
