my favorite j-pop band is morning musume, and of course many of their shuffle/subgroups/soloists~... hello!project (the company behind momusu and all related groups) just creates really awesome music.
j-rock, see my avatar and signature... janne da arc. XD they're just so cool. they aren't as popular as other j-rock bands because they aren't really visual kei, they're just kind of.. there. but that's why I love them ^__^
actually, I don't really listen to that much j-pop aside from morning musume. I listen to more j-rock BANDS, but not necessarily more j-rock.. it's just that the large amount of momusu I listen to balances out all the different j-rock bands I listen to. XD I like glay, pierrot, and siam shade the most after Janne.

Oh, I forgot all about morning musume >< ;
Janne Da Arc, on the other hand...their ok, but something gI just never caught on with, there is a new band called Devity Dei, it's not well known yet, but a lot of their songs are really good...but not for those that like the "slow" song type of music.
