Arceusis god so why do the characters try to stop him?

    Maybe because they didn't want to die, perhaps?
     
    For a god, his anger was pretty pathetic.
    He could have rewritten all of reality and destroyed time and space, yet all he did was blow a few things up with pretty lights and shoot a miniscule laser from his face. Not to mention that Pikachu was a threat to him. :/
     
    Because some people were running low on their imagination tanks:D He also sounded like a dweeb. If god is a goat that sounds like MJ, then I don't even know what to say...
     
    I don't know about you, but I'm anti-earth getting destroyed. God or no god, I'd be fighting even if I had no chance. Besides, fighting when you have no chance of winning is dramatic and as far as movies go when you have no chance to win you end up winning 9 times out of 10.
     
    If you built a Nuclear Power Plant and it went out of control and was about to blow up, could you stop it?

    You built it but does that mean you can just destroy it whenever you felt like it?
     
    I would want to stop someone from ending existance as we know it. Wouldn't you? Anddddd when he sounds like a speak ans spell running on low power
     
    The legendary pokemon, and their powers/positions is all pretty stupid. You shouldn't look into it too much.
     
    I'm going to guess that they decided to try and stop him for many reasons.

    1) They liked the earth in one piece and not destoryed

    2) They didn't feel like dying

    3) It made a freaking AMAZING movie

    4) They figured people have forgotten about pokemon the first movie, and they can bring in pokemon destorying the earth again.
