Well I have searched for four pages and still have not came across a thread on Pokéthlon... So I guess I would start one.

So do you guys like Pokéthlon? Personally I love it a lot more than contest! It's so much pushing other Pokémon off the edge (OK it doesn't sound quite right), and I have just sort of finished the Pokéthlon with the owner making a statue of myself in the "friendship" room.

that thing.. i cant understand half the things.. japanese i guess..

It could be awesome...if I knew what the hell am I doing. Currently I keep doing it, getting roughly 140 points per time, just to get a Shiny stone for my Togetic (didn't fight Red yet, I want my team to be perfect for that match)...I guess i'd have to wait for some translator to do it, or simply for Nintendo themselves to do it.

The Pokéthelon caught my interest when I first heard about it, however to not have the chance to test it out as yet, then I can't put a direct say on whether I like it or not. Seeing it was never introduced before and the game being in Japanese right now, then those who imported and don't understand the text pretty much won't understand how to work it out clearly, so they themselves might have a hard time saying whether they enjoy it or not as well, unlike others who might. Although, once the English version is released here in the US, and I finally get to test it out, then I'll be back to give my opinion on whether I prefer it more than contests or not, and whether I like it or not at that point [if of course this thread doesn't become over a month old in posts by then]. :P

However, I can say that what I've seen of it so far does look pretty benefiting to the game. Like said, it has caught my attention thus far, so we'll see how it plays out in the long run afterwards.

I'm not really interested in that or contests at all really.

I first thought that was crappy but actually it's a really entertaining feature.
I'm trying to get all medals for my team but it's quite hard. My favourite contest is the Stamina (4th), I get 650 point each time. (550 + 100)

Im afraid to get into it because Im afraid I might like it more than contests.

Dont have HGSS yet but i still don't think i will be a poke thlele i just think it is another minigame i wont get in to

    It's really, really fun actually.
More so than contests, since you can use your regular Pokemon in them, instead of needing Pokemon with contest movesets.

Being able to access it early game is neat too, and it's probably the easiest way to get stones.

Now, I only need to figure out which event uses which Athlon Stats, since the ingame explanation really doesn't tell you, until you actually enter the event.

    It looks pretty fun.
But I've never been one for minigames.
Though, If it adds a star to my trainer card, I might as well.
It can't be any worse than contests.

Errrr well I don't know how it is called but I loveeee that snow thingy game . Got like 150 Points ( god knows how high that is ! ) . Alos I won a Freaky Japanese thingy I dont even know what it is :D:D:D:D:D:D

itspretty fun except for the fact its in japanese. reminds me of minigames in pokemon satdium

I still wish the Pokemon Super Contest were in these two games as well. But as for the Pokethlete, the only game that caught my attention is the one with the snowballs, that's about it for now

I'm horrible at the Pokethlon. Absolutely horrible. I have slow reflexes. D:

    I want contests back...

The good thing about the Pokethlon is that they award you points even if you come last... and a lot of points too. :'D Such a change from cruel contests. Yet I still like contests more. lol I'm such a Hoenn fan.

I absolutely love the Pokéthlon! It's incredibly fun and is a great time-spender! I finished it the other day by getting to the gold room, but I still play around from time to time just because.

I wasn't too big of a fan for contests. It's not that I didn't like them, they were alright. However, the Pokéthlon is way better and much more entertaining for me!

I thought this was a game of reflex, but in the end it's a game of stats and technique.
for example, you can have a team that can reliably win 2 events and lose horribly in 1, and still win overall.

    Also, some interesting things:

    - Diglett family can't jump, so are at a disadvantage in many events. They do, however, avoid hurdles pretty easily.

    - Flying Pokemon can glide in the PokeSaucer event. Use this to your advantage!

Yeah. My Geodude was horrible at the racing part, I kind of figured that out. lol

It's just too bad I can't participate in them any more (my key items were replaced *sob*).
