Note: I am a dedicated Pokemon Special Fan. However, I do not own any of the manga. I only get bits and pieces of information from the Internet, thus I am able to create this article. If anyone out there is willing to share his or her knowledge about Pokemon Special, please contact me through private messaging or instant messaging.
Disclaimer: Pokemon Special or Pokemon Adventures was created by Hidenari Kasuka, drawn by MATO and Satoshi Yamamoto. I am just a mere fan not worthy to be known by the great Kasuka, MATO and Yamamoto.
Article 3: From the words of the fans?
In the world of Special, two major pairings have stood out in midst of the heroes. Though Red and Yellow might be the most hinted, it might not have a steady fan base. Green and Yellow on the other hand, have been supported from all the way through. Though many think that Yellow and Red might go together in the future, a lot of Feelingshippers (supporters of Green and Yellow) might disagree. Many sites and shrines have appeared and seem to outnumber most of Specialshipping shrines. Some people might support Speciashipping but they don?t solidly support it. They might support some other pairings such as Chosenshipping or Oldrivalshipping. A recent survey might enlighten some of us.
During the first part, Pokespecial fans were asked what ship do they mainly support. The answer: 60% favor Feelingshipping while 40% favor Specialshipping. This might be a harrowing fact but Specialshippers don?t even support their ship solidly. 60% of Feelingshippers solidly their ship while only 30% of Specialshippers solidly support their ship. What is the reason for supporting? Both side think it?s cute. Kind of a small answer that I was blind-sided with but I think I should not have asked that question. There is also the fact that some Feelingshippers don?t have Yellow in their favorite list. 17% of Feelingshippers don?t have Yellow in their favorites. This fact makes some people wonder how solidly they support that kind of pairing. I?ve also asked the question if some people would favor Green or Red. Two out of three Feelingshippers favor Green over Red. Oddly enough, Two out of three Specialshippers favor Red over Green. I also asked them if they think Green is an under rated character. One out two Feelingshippers think Green is an underated character while one out of three Specialshippers think so. Reactions between ships seem docile so it might take a while before an actual flame war starts. Some of the fans seem to disagree with pairings such as Accidental or Incidentalshipping. This actual hate to other pairings might become hate to the opposite ship, so they are advised to be careful. There is one thing that makes me wonder often. 17% of Feelingshippers were once Specialshippers. What triggered the change, they might not want to say. All Feelingshippers claim that they will continue to support their pairs even if it is proven wrong. What about Specialshipping? 67% say that they will never continue to support their ship if they saw to it that it is proven wrong. 16% will continue and 17% are not sure.
Did the results astound you? It?s quite true even though it?s so hard to believe. I was quite amazed at first too, but it seems that the fan basis of Feelingshipping might be stronger than that of Specialshipping. If we look at it, Feelinshipping might be even come true. But there?s one thing that is sure. Only Mr. Kusaka can lay down Yellow?s fate.
Feel like you have been left out by the survey? PM me and I will re-send the survey questions to you!
