    Underpowered pokemon. Overpowered pokemon. The pokemon games full of pokemon that are rarely or even never used because of their states. It seems like half of the time the pokemon you like don't get the attention it deserve while awfully designed and ugly pokemon have states or abilities that overshadow everyone else.

    'nough said, this thread is for doing justice to these pokemon. I'm not talking about equalizing between states. Naturally, some pokemon have better states and are stronger and some are weaker. But what could you do to make a pokemon more competitive, more beneficial to use?

    The rules are:
    - Only one pokemon per post.
    - You can change pokemon state, ability, moves, typing, as long as it makes sense.
    - You may even invent new abilities or moves. Yeah, why not? It's a creative thread in title, after all. Just try to make it subtle and not undermining the entire game system.
    - You can strengthen up an underpowered pokemon or reduce strength from a. overpowered one. Your call. Balancing up a pokemon could be done even without meddling with states (For example, the fact that Gyarados is water/flying instead of water/dragon really makes it more fair as although it's great strength, it got an Achilles heel - x4 weakness to electricity)
    - Please try to write a detailed comment.

    I'll start, naturally, with my own fave pokemon: Furret
    (sorry for the lack of pic, since I'm still not allowed to put links until I have 15 comments in the site)

    Now Furret is used mainly for scouting and tricking purpose. He isn't supposed to fight head on against tanks or high threats. Therefor my boosts and changes are gonna utilize his work and make it accessible.

    HP 85
    Atk 76 -> 86
    Def 64
    SpA 45
    SpD 55
    Spe 90 -> 100

    With more attack and speed it might be able to do something. Minor changes, as we don't wanna turn him into something he isn't, and he doesn't looks like a tank of power. We'll have to change other things.

    Furret has another problem, aside from relativity low attack and speed: Being obvious. When you see it in the battle, you except the usual trick set. It can't do much more than that, being too fragile to stand in battle. We want him to survive more then one hit so it'll be able to actually do something. For that, I suggest a new ability:
    Wariness: The pokemon receives only 50% of the damage from direct attacks in the first turn it's in battle.
    This ability means that switching Furret in is actually worthy of consideration. Also, if it's the start of the battle or Furret came in after a comrade is down, it gets a mercyfull turn where he can stand up for himself against attacks. He might set up and be used as a batton passer.
    This ability also fits to Furret's personality, in my taste.

    Last: Moves:
    Furret should also be able to learn these moves:
    Tail Slap, Belly Drum, Wild Charge, Aqua Tail

    That's all. You're all welcome to leave comments and/or your own vision of how some pokemon should be like.

    Interesting thread.

    I would re-balance Flareon. I would switch it's attack stat with special attack. That would make it a possible sweeper or a great Baton Passer.

    I'd rebalance Garbodor.

    Seriously, it needs a better movepool and its stats could use some buffing.

    Beginning with its typing. It looks like it's supposed to be bulkier than it really is. Let's start by making him Poison/Steel (he's clearly got some metallic elements in his body). This will make him more resistant to most attacks at the expense of a x4 weakness to ground-type attacks.

    Moving on to the stats, I'd change:
    HP: 80 -> 100
    Atk: 95 -> 95
    Def: 82 -> 100
    Sp.Atk: 60 -> 60
    Sp.Def: 82 -> 100
    Spd: 75 -> 65
    BST: 474 -> 520
    Again, mainly to make him as bulky as he looks like he should be. :P

    I'd also increase his physical movepool by giving access to Poison Jab and (to match his new secondary STAB) Metal Claw, Magnet Bomb, and Heavy Slam. Perhaps you can throw Earthquake, Mega Punch, Double-Edge, and Explosion/Selfdestruct in for good measure.
