So just wondering what everyone's favorite anime director or mangaka is. I'm going to be a tad bit biased as say Ishinomori-sensei for me. He did a bhunch of good manga with deep subplots, though his "lifeswork was never finished".

As for anime, Hideki Anno was my favorite anime director, for those who don't know him he was the man behind the NGE anime. To this day...most people haven't been able to understand there true meaning of.

Animation director is hard because sometimes anime fans are so caught up in the anime, we forget the people who do it.

I find Hideki Anno a bit too depressing for me. I do agree he directs drama very well but the fact everything just went mad in the last 2 Eva movies proved to be disasterous to me. He could have just ended it happily but no... he doesn't.

I guess my favorite director would be the guy who directed R.O.D the TV series. He just took his time with everything, characters were all so well developed right to the end and the amount of drama every character goes through is absolutely amazing. Pity he spent a little bit too much time with the characters to the point the ending kind of sizzles out.

Ok, favorite Manga Artist. Hard one, but I still dare say my fav of all time is Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. There's just something so wonderful about his style that fuses reality and fantasy together that creates such brilliant character designs.
