Out of the three Pokémon Ranger games, which one was your favourite and why?

I liked all three of the games, but I would say Shadows of Almia was my favourite. The storyline was really good imo, and I liked being able to choose from various different Partner Pokémon which the first and third games don't really let you do (the first game at least gives you some sort of choice between Plusle and Minun, but the choice still isn't particularly broad, especially given that they are basically the same Pokémon). I also liked the music from the second game better as well, particularly a lot of the soundtracks from towards the end of the game since they fit in quite well with the mood.

I'd be curious in knowing too! Never played these, but am considering trying since I'm a bit more into the idea of playing the spinoffs lately. Would the best one in your opinion be a good one to start with??

I would probably suggest starting with the first one since there are minor spoilers in the second and third games, although the first game doesn't take as long to beat as the second and third games. It depends if you care about spoilers or not.

Guardian Signs for me. I had so much fun with that game back in the day, the story is great and the music is awesome. It was my first Ranger game and I'd recommend it as a first, definitely. You get to summon and ride the Legendary beasts!

While I've never played Shadows of Almia, I have played regular Ranger (borrowed it from a friend who didn't need it). I liked it, even though it was in Italian and I only understood the general idea of the lines. It was shorter and less complex story-wise than Guardian Signs. The two are also a bit mechanically different, the old Ranger seeming a bit clunky after my experience with the newer game.

Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs, for sure. They definitely did the best they possibly could with this one. I really liked playing that one most out of the three. I liked the story much more than I did the previous games before it, and I liked how there was an entire side thing you could do in the past. I loved the first Ranger, but honestly, I don't like how they handled capturing Pokemon in that game. Having to draw consecutive loops until the counter reached a certain number can get really tedious.

Shadows of Almia, though... while I did like the game, and the fact you could have 17 partners nice, some of the story in that one just really dragged. Almia itself is a cool an interesting region, though.

That being said, I don't think this particular spinoff series will ever get brought back unless they rework the styler. The touch screen on the switch doesn't really get used in a lot of games, does it? It's really hard to imagine how a modern ranger game would work, unless they rework it into spinning one of your analog sticks.
