I want to create a good pokemon team on Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. Any ideas of a good team?
    What starter I shold choose?
    What moves I should have?

this is my team at the moment, there will be a lot of people who say this sucks, but meh... lol

    Uxie

    - rest
    - calm mind
    - Physcic
    - Yawn

    Spiritomb

    - nasty plot
    - dark pulse
    - hypnosis
    - confuse ray

Shuckle (Ev trained in defence and special defence, with remainining into HP)

    - toxic
    - Rest
    - double team
    - Substitute (many people will say earthquake here, but i like sub)

    Snorlax

    - earthquake
    - Sleep talk
    - rest
    - Block

if i were you i would get belly drum on a snorlax, maybe replace block with belly drum.

    Garchomp

    - Dragon pulse
    - Swords dance
    - Rest
    - Retun

a lot of people say teach chomp outrage, i dont disagree, its a very powerful attack, and does A LOT of damage, i just didnt teach mine that move.

    Weezing

    - Pain split
    - Haze
    - Toxic
    - Sludge Bomb

    A) There is no such thing as a "best team" every team has weaknesses and by covering them you just expose new ones.
    B) Chimchar is the best starter. Infernape's STAB moves hits half the gym leaders for SE damage and 11 of the 26 pokes in the elite 4
    C) Peanut- No-one would ever put earthquake on shuckle. Ever. Is base 10 attack something you wanna use? Plus the poke sucks in general :)

just play the singleplayer the way you like, go with your favourites. then at the end of the game you should think about a battling team, but actually you should then still just go with your favourites.. i have like 4 ground pokemon at the moment....

lol, i only talked about earthquake because serebii said so :P. it said something like "toxic first, then double team, rest when health gets slow, then when you cant DT no more hit it with earthquake.

and it may suck, but its just a personal favourite of mine that i just cant let go lol

Serebii would neverrr suggets such a henious thing :P

Wow, that has to be the worst guide serebii has ever given. Double team and brightpowder are banned, they havemt maxed it's HP and are relying off the cheapness of evasion. Meh, its a very yucky set, i cant beleieve they suggested that. Perhaps things were different back in 3rd gen. Still, each to their own. I will say no more :P

    I'd say:

    1. Crobat - For Speed
    2. Dialga/Palkia - Strong moves.
    3. Giratina - Strength in general.
    4. Infernape - As an all-rounder.
    5. Ampharos - It's a pain to find, but it's got quite some useful attacks.
    6. Butterfree - For moves which prevent your enemy from attacking, like Stun Spore, Sleeping Powder, and other attacks which can poison your enemy.

    I'd say:
    1. Dialga/Palkia - Strong moves.

am i the only person who REALLY hates dialga and palkia, yes sure they have the orbs, and have good base stats. but they lack any good stat up moves (i <3 stat up moves :P), you can only FULLY get the most of them if you batton pass over something

Archayos: Ubers are banned, so there's no point suggesting them
Peanut: With those stats they dont need stat-ups :P Besides, Bulk up Dialga is a beast in ubers :)

hmmm, yes i forgot about bulk up lol.... i can see why that would be useful. but only use bulk up + steel type move for added STAB. its other type (Dragon) is special so wont get effected by by bulk up.

he is one of the fewer examples where bulk up can be used (in ubers anyway, since Dialga is in the uber tier), why is bulk up so rarely used? there are so few pokemon that can use it, unlike its special equivelent, calm mind, where there isnt a single good physcic pokemon that can barely live without it. (heck to it, calm mind mewtwo is f'in deadly)

It's 4th gen so attacks are now physical/special based on the attack itself, not type. There are now physical dragon moves and special steel moves (Although steel is a sucky attack type due to its lack of coverage).

Bulk up is rarely used because its boosts are spread between two stats that people dont wanna boost both of. Most bulky physical attackers have the defences already maxed, for example swampert usually runs at least 200 EVs in HP and def. Plus its limited to very few worthy pokes, most who learn it (Like blaziken and infernape) are KOed as they set up.

All questions about team making should go here where you can request movesets for certain pokemon. There is no "best" team so pick out some pokemon you like, train them in the areas they're good at while following the suggested movesets, and smooth over the flaws to build a good team.

Team talk does not belong here in D/P, peoplez. 8<
